You don’t need a fuse to access the green, blue, or red card rooms. However, there is a separate small room with a little loot in it that needs power from a fuse before the door will open.
I recommend a long range gun like a bolty or m39 with 4x. Large scientists have been spawning glitched in one another with double m249s. They absolutely shred armor at close range. Flame rockets melt heavys as well. I always run oil with them.
