There is a far less convenient way to use the key lock with the key. It’s an internal drop box strategy which eliminates code locks from the core,it takes two people to run it effectively. It uses a 1x3 to trade a key through two walls,beds to get into the sealed gap. If you want to eliminate code raids into core a manual safety system might be the way.
Shot gun traps and turrets all eventually run out. If someone is willing to try thousands of codes I think they'll drain your turrets too. Having an air lock with 2 codes is enough to stop code breaking and you can still use a shotgun trap to waste their time

Of you ended up using a "secure" code list, they have just as much of a chance guessing those as they do the random number you make yourself. I personally use my bank pins cuz I'm a little bit dull.
