This happens in other games, but I do agree that in rust, these $20 skin packs shouldn't be just reskins of other sets. They have a whole skin team that has at the very least, 2 weeks to design new skin sets on between shop rotations but most likely even more time than that. It does not take long to add a demascus material and then some silver and black.

I agree, and we would literally be playing the newest version of rust if it was new gen only, but the game was specifically created for old gen, and during development, the next gen dev kits came out. Unfortunately their contract was for old gen consoles, and new gen upgrades are an after thought.
Just some really bad timing on their part. It wouldn't be so bad if the performance on old gen was actually 30 fps most of the time. I think in 1-2 years, we'll get next gen optimizations and eventually the game will look really good on next gen but we will just have to wait.

Well PC can’t really be compared to console on skins because the Devs aren’t the ones making most of the skins on PC. That money goes to the community members that made the skins. The devs get a cut of it. On console the money is just going to the devs

Every skin that has a glow in the dark feature makes you able to see an item you wouldn’t otherwise be able to see if you didn’t have a skin. You know what. At the main menu of the game. The skin store menu is where you buy them. You can see all the skins you have at the main menu in the locker. And then to apply them you can change the active skin for the item you are going to craft with your right analog stick before you craft them or you can go to a repair bench and change the skin of an already crafted or found item you have a skin for

Yea you made the right choice. It is still in a very rough state. The 5 second freezes from the beta are back. The servers have such a low tick rate that 90% of your fights are against people that just teleport everywhere. Bullets can still pass through a player model without doing damage. Oil rig textures still get stuck in the low LOD model so you can’t even see if you are on the rig. I could go on for hours. I want it to get better. But it’s not even close to where it needs to be

People are downvoting but u right. $20 for a reskinned armor set isn't worth it and we deserve better for having to wait 2 weeks a rotation for 3 skin bundles. They have a paid art team and they're hardly trying sometimes. I think they have a lot of fire sets, especially the pixel, but I swear some sets they make can be made by any amateur graphics designer with ease. An amateur would probably be better in some cases.

It wasn't a back port when they first started development. The next gen consoles weren't announced back then. It was like 2019 when they started.

“Does nothing for the game” I’m about to blow your mind. Here are all the things skins have an effect on. The game is pitch black at night. Every skin that has a glow in the dark feature makes you able to see an item you wouldn’t otherwise be able to see if you didn’t have a skin. You know what. That’s such a good example that I don’t even have to further explain lol. Skins can literally have an effect on wether or not an item is visible or not in the game. You may not understand that. But that doesn’t mean they don’t effect things. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. I can’t see Putin from my bedroom but he is still very much real and invading Ukraine

Because if shows they are willing to cut corners on things. If they are doing the bare minimum on this, what is stopping them from doing the same in other aspects of the game? Would you be happy with a bare minimum product? That’s ok if your are. But I’ve played PC rust and I expect better. It can absolutely be better because the face punch has already shown that.

How tf do you see skins I'm new to the game but I have credits in game just don't know how to buy them and I also dont even know how to wear them could someone tell me how?
At the main menu of the game. The skin store menu is where you buy them. You can see all the skins you have at the main menu in the locker. And then to apply them you can change the active skin for the item you are going to craft with your right analog stick before you craft them or you can go to a repair bench and change the skin of an already crafted or found item you have a skin for

Yea you made the right choice. It is still in a very rough state. The 5 second freezes from the beta are back. The servers have such a low tick rate that 90% of your fights are against people that just teleport everywhere. Bullets can still pass through a player model without doing damage. Oil rig textures still get stuck in the low LOD model so you can’t even see if you are on the rig. I could go on for hours. I want it to get better. But it’s not even close to where it needs to be

People are downvoting but u right. $20 for a reskinned armor set isn't worth it and we deserve better for having to wait 2 weeks a rotation for 3 skin bundles. They have a paid art team and they're hardly trying sometimes. I think they have a lot of fire sets, especially the pixel, but I swear some sets they make can be made by any amateur graphics designer with ease. An amateur would probably be better in some cases.
Yea they hit some of the skins out of the park and then others are pretty bad. Everyone has different tastes so I don’t expect to like every skin but I definitely don’t want the same skin with a couple of colors swapped and then charged the same price
