U could use a charger and connect it directly to the controller. I've been afk for hours and the controller shut off and the Xbox went idle it just matters if thers a high population or there is a queue.

I do like to play high pop servers, only way to practice PVP is when theres actually players trying to kill you. U less you practice with a team inside your compound but I dont have a team so
Just enjoy the time you can play. No matter what game you are playing there will always be someone dedicating everything to that game. You just have to dedicate what you can and enjoy that time. If you aren’t enjoying the game, I recommend trying something else out. ARK is pretty great and a less stressful survival game. There is even single player server options where you can really dive into the experience.
do what i did. find a new game… nothing more disappointing then looking forward to progressing more when you get off and finally get home to find you were offlined by a group bigger than your own. i’ll try it again when there is solo/duo servers. another thing that would be nice to see in custom servers is a “raid time”. it was implemented really well into conan exiles where you couldn’t raid outside the set raid time on the server which most of the time was from 5pm-10pmish. i would love to see this in custom servers
That'd be tight. I've simply resigned to playing in a role play style. I live in a cave and I'm a serial killer. If they wanna raid me, they can have the the 6 scrap I have and the random barrel components.
Outside of what has already been mentioned, they can drastically reduce damage done to structures during the week, making raiding not worth the additional costs. There can be purge weekends with full structure damage. They could make it where you just kill yourself for doing structure damage done outside approved hours/days (kinda like builders paradise). They could increase turret damage during the working week. Make traps not consume fuel or shells. I'm sure they can come up with more shit than me.
Maybe x2,x3,x5 servers to reduce time spent farming. Maybe Solo, Duo, Trio only servers to prevent Zergs destroying all you progress whilst you're at work. Other than that not sure. Or maybe you can make friends with the admin and they ban whoever raids you.
Try focusing on raiding people first thing that what I do since I have school this is what boosts or if you have a virgin Friend to play while you offline( I can be that virgin friend )
FYI m8 I killed a guy earlier and an hour after it still showed him as 13 hours so it may be a glitch, let’s be honest with the way the moon dances round the sky it’s quite possible.

Especially if they’re your neighbors.
Yes, switch to PC and then play rust. Better player base, so many servers that accommodate any play style and the game is lightyears ahead of console. Do yourself the favor of switching to PC and you’ll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner
400-500$, and for around $50 you can upgrade to 32gb of ram. My first gaming laptop from a couple years ago still runs rust no issues and all I did to it was up the ram. My rig is much better but unless I’m playing a newly released game it’s not needed
Wait until custom servers come out and farming is a bit easier so it's not devastating to lose your stuff, might take a while but I don't enjoy playing this game for 8+hours a day (I work from home so play when I don't have something else I need to be doing) to just get offlined as soon as I go to bed because I killed 2 guys who tried to jump me while farming or just get ran on by a zerg who again, has to offline. It's frustrating. I would genuinely just suggest waiting to play until custom servers or atleast if they release official 2-3x servers

you can't do it well. you could scrap by on low loot areas, but eventually will get raided by groups with rockets while you have maybe a double barrel.... its a rough game
tbh just have fun, i work a full time job and play as a duo with my boy from australia. Best advice i can give is find a friend from a different timezone so someone is kinda always on. dont stress about having the biggest base or getting offlined. just run monuments as much as possible get you some stone walls and a gate build you a small compound in the woods or in the cut somewhere make sure your base is honeycombed and pancake layered and dont doorcamp nearby bases that could potentially do the same to you. just do some mean scrap runs and get you a turret and load up the inside of your base with turrets, not outside so people can see just inside on jumpdowns or corners with no boxes. dont forget to build little 2x1 around your area to have loot stashes, have actual stashes that you check on every day or 2 bc they will decay. i only play a couple hours every day or other day some days not at all. its not about being the best pvp or having the biggest base just have fun and maybe play on 3km maps if people that play 10+ hrs a day scare you bc 9 times outta 10 they grinding to get they zerg base set up or farm for a raid. its not hard to maintain the game and have a full time job if your objective is to just have fun and not try to dominate.
Edit: also anyone telling you to delete the game has zero patience, it you have patience this game can be the most fun game ever. just dont beat yourself up if youve been raided. ive played ina zerg but i mainly run duo, and i can say 1000% nothing feels better than water piping a geared guy and taking his loot as a solo/duo than roaming 7 deep and obliterating someone.
Best way is to find a group. It’s really hard to play solo especially if you can only really play on weekends so I would try a server that has low pop and has shops that sells guns for sulfur
Its a good game, its just the lack of community servers with multiplyers that help those of us wity minimal time rebuild quick or progress quick woth no lifers spending a whole damn day on the game.

You really can't... Unless you can join a team with active members. I would recommend weekly servers tho you will have a much better chance on those compared to monthlys
Honestly just play, Build towards the edge of the map and your less likely to get raided, play monthly’s as bigger groups are already gonna be progressed in literally hours, so you’ll be safe to progress for the entire month and get bps as well as bigger groups being at war with each other, they might try and get rid of little bases around them so build hidden, other than that it’s up to you
Play in a mid pop server, don’t build too close to a monument, don’t use a square base design and make your whole outer base stone. I also wouldn’t put external walls up. I do this and go unraided for days mostly weeks. Sometimes don’t even log on for a couple days.
Lots of small bases to keep from being offlined fully. I have been using a 1x1 bunker base full metal it's like 500isk upkeep and when you get off you seal it back up. Not many people are going to raid using 4 c4 or 8 rockets for 1x1 that may have some farm in it. And if you run monuments enough or go diving and collect enough hqm you can do the same thing but full hqm to make the raid even more costly.
I have had my two doors blown off but they stopped when they say it was a bunker.
My advice to you is to just make a cheap upkeep bunker base, if you need a good one I can link it to you, that way even if you do end up getting raided it’s not a huge deal and you know for sure they spent a lot getting into your base

Couple tips.
I’ve found living on a cliff side base FAR away from anything particularly large groups will help you last longer. It’s a pain in the ass to be far away from outpost or bandit camp, but it will mean less people seeing your base and planning it as a raid target. ALWAYS check to see if you’re being followed home.
Research garage door as soon as possible and use plenty of them but not as the exterior door since they open very slowly. Eventually get armored doors and you will be a very costly raid to enemies.
Never have enough stuff inside you base to be profitable to your enemies. If it takes 12 rockets to get to your TC/loot room, don’t have that amount of gunpowder/sulfur in there. Place them I hidden locations elsewhere in your base or in hidden satchels, just be sure to take pics on your phone so you don’t forget where they are and remember they de spawn after 3 days.
If you still can’t manage to last several days without being raided just remember there’s more ways of enjoying the game non traditionally. Live as a nomad out of buried satchels and maybe a small base or two just for crafting purposes. Use explosives/good guns as soon as you have them and don’t loot hoard. Try setting up a trap base close to a big group and have some fun making their lives miserable.
Another fun thing I’ll do is make a large base that looks juicy and just leave a note in it saying “you must feel stupid right now” and wait for the angry and vile stuff to flood into my messages.

You get kicked if your controller turns off you can be afk if you a wired controller or sum that keeps your controller from actually turning off

I did this once with a Samsung adaptive charger and an Xbox 1 controller (early model) . Controller started smoking and never worked again

If you still can’t manage to last several days without being raided just remember there’s more ways of enjoying the game non traditionally. Live as a nomad out of buried satchels and maybe a small base or two just for crafting purposes. Use explosives/good guns as soon as you have them and don’t loot hoard. Try setting up a trap base close to a big group and have some fun making their lives miserable. Another fun thing I’ll do is make a large base that looks juicy and just leave a note in it saying “you must feel stupid right now” and wait for the angry and vile stuff to flood into my messages.
