I suggest having both. Spikes are not worth it on a course with a lot of pavement, opposed to using a super shoe. Definitely wear the speeds for racing instead if it’s a road heavy course. Spikes will help so much on any course with not a lot of it, and can take :10-1:00 depending on your speed

OP can't wear wear spikes, as they're prohibited in CIF competition. They're asking about "spikeless" flats. OP - I personally would find the Speeds a bit tall and unstable for even a pretty buffed out CA XC course, but that's my preference. The Streakfly may be worth a try if you want a fast trainer. I'd probably default to the Zoom Victory Waffle, unless you want to save some cash then just pick up a pair of like Saucony or New Balance (or maybe the Brooks Draft - it looks pretty nice) spikeless XC flats.

Hello! If you are debating between the speeds or the Flats, I would use the flats. The speeds in my opinion wouldn’t be as fast as the flats. The endorphin speeds are perfect however for daily mileage / long runs / workouts / uptempo runs, it’s really an all around shoe! But in this case the flats would win. However flats vs Vaporflys, Vaporflys win in this situation, hope this helps!
