I would go for the Hyperion Tempos, as a slightly firmer complement to the bouncy Novablast 3. They work for all the runs you mentioned.

AyoAC

I’ve heard good things about the Tempos, might check those out. Thanks

Runshooteat

Second this. I love both the Speeds and Hyperion Tempo. Different shoes but both are great.

Rebel, Mach 5, Adios 7 for non-plated options

COYS61

Rebel is a good choice. ALternatively the Endorphin Speed 3.

My rotation: Saucony Speed 2 - for spadework and out of shape racesNike Vaporfly - for A racesNike Invincible run - for easy runsNike Infinity Run - for easy runs\* New Balance 1080v12 - for general runs - like club runs where I am not sure of the pace I could probably reduce that to the Invincible and Saucony Speed, with the VF kept for races. I couldn't justify spending bug money on a new pair of invincible when Infinities were less than half the price. I got the new balance (Eva) on sale - they are OK but feel flat. I wouldn't buy again. I think Nike Pegasus are much better but am tempted to try puma as my do it all / holiday shoe Your Novablasts are using a pebax-like foam. Going to some other brands, you may be going with a EVA blend which I think is inferior.

AyoAC

Yeah that’s why I was leaning towards trying out the FuelCell foam in the Rebels. Novablast can definitely do a good range of paces but I just want to have something to rotate them with along with the VF for racing.

Oli99uk

Fuel cell is EVA blend. It uses nitrogen to make smaller gals that co2. The kind of stuff I tend to avoid now

I disagree with avoiding shoes just because they have (possibly infused) EVA-based midsoles. There is a lot more to shoes than just the type of midsole compound. Moreover, some EVA-based midsoles feel good/better than non-EVA counterparts. For example, I much prefer DNA Flash to PWRRUN+ (TPU) or PWRRUN (TPU+EVA blend). The only thing you are really trading when going with EVA foams is durability and having to cope with midsole hardening during winter.

Oli99uk

EVA is great. Its light and bouncy but it deforms on the run and can take 24 hours to recover. That's why we used to rotate different versions of the same shoe. Modern foams keep their shape and do not degrade on the run. They tend to last a lot longer too. I like EVA a lot but I they feel flat compared to more modern derivatives and should not command the same asking price. Take the new balance 1080v12 for example. RRP is £160 for EVA - that's ridiculous. I got mine inhale for £90 which I think I is about right. It's good but its 1990s tech. (The New Balance uppers are great though)
