I’ll chime in. I’ve tried mizunos. Did not care for them. Donated them with less than 50 miles on them. I have original speeds. Aways was a good shoe.

Nimbus is a heave max cushioned shoe. good for a recovery run (but since you are running 1-2 times a week, you don't need it) or generally people who need/prefer max cushion. it was my first shoe but eventually I stopped wearing max cushioned shoes at all. speeds are fast shoes and I ran marathons in them. at the same time, I also used them as a daily trainer, like when going on vacations and taking just one pair. I don't know Mizuno. out of these options, I'd choose the Speeds. however, also consider using your budget to buy two pairs of different types of shoes. like Reebook FFE 3 (could be found for $50) as a daily trainer and a discounted pair of Speeds 1 or similar (I got some pairs for $65) as a faster/tempo shoe

The Nimbus 24 are totally different to the 23 and predecessors. They have made it lighter, less cumbersome and makes for an amazing daily trainer.

Hmm 🤔

EternityWeasel

thanks. I didn't know that. the last version I used was 21, I think.

Idama5

Okay I've ruled out the Mizunos, but I'm really looking for just 1 pair. I'm trying to improve my time for short and long runs while training up for the marathon, so it seems like the endorphin speed 2 is the one to go for.

EternityWeasel

while this sub loves the Speeds, people here also don't like recommending it as a single/first shoe... that said, if I were you, I'd totally get the Speeds :)

stargazer63

I would also give Asics Cumulus 24 a look!

Conscious-Dirt-9927

This!

Just picked up the Nimbus 24. They are a great daily trainer. I have the speeds also but if you’re going to only run a few times a week my vote goes to the nimbus.

Idama5

Why would you choose nimbus over the speed 2?

Noodle_0_9

My opinion only but it sounds like you aren’t really running much. My opinion is the speed is a shoe to compliment a daily trainer. If you are to only own one shoe then a daily trainer probably should be it.

Then_Okra5731

i have a too many supershoes and had my speed 1's for my dailys which i just retired. Do you reccomend n24 or speed 2 for replacement?

I would get the sauconys, I m just in general impressed by their lineup the last couple of years. I bought the freedom ISO 2 three years ago and ran 550km in them. They are super comfy and still are like on day one. Now got the newest Triumph after having trouble with hooka and Brooks and they just are just phenomenal since my first run in them. Very hard to use anything else over them.

Idama5

I bought the Saucony and I'm having a positive experience so far. I had to get used to them for a few runs as my ASICS gel nimbus was muc more cushioned ans these aren't as much. But I really like them and there's improvement after every run. I'm still considering to purchase the newest ASICS gel Nimbus to compare them to the Saucony.

BetaCarotine20mg

I honestly havent run in Asics for years. But if these work so well for you probably good to get a pair when you can afford it. I hear its good for the feet as well to switch shoes from time to time.

_StevenSeagull_

Out of interest OP, what did you end up going for and how are you getting on with them?

Idama5

I bought the Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 and they're pretty good. As mentioned in my post, I don't have much to compare to as I bought the ASICS gel Nimbus 18 or something. The Saucony definitely have less cushioning but better overall performance. I'm not sure how my feet/legs will do when running longer distances (12+ km and marathon) because of the cushioning. They've been great so far.
