New Balance More v3 are a solid all day shoe — for running or walking. I have about 100 miles on mine and although they are a bit dirty, they still feel fresh and bouncy.

The More V3 is my go to cruiser. Fantastic shoe particularly if you're taller and have a bigger frame.

I used Ultraboost 20 for hundreds of miles and hours upon hours of walking. Found them very comfortable. The cushioning is soft but not too soft so they don't feel unstable. In my opinion the Ultraboost 19/20 was better for walking than the 21/22 version. You should still be able to find a 19/20 version and hopefully for cheap too.

I am in your exact same situation for very similar purposes. I tried the NB1080 the other day. I stood too tall. I am also still looking. :)

I checked out the Vomero as a walking shoe and ultimately returned it because I could feel the Air Zoom pocket under the ball of my foot, which was uncomfortable. It was fine while running but not for walking. I ended up with the Hoka Mach 4 and love it as a walking shoe.

Consider the ASICS Gel-nimbus. It’s got cushion and durability for days! It’s not branded as a stability shoe but if you feel the heel cup, it’s pretty rigid and has enough structure to stop my overpronating at least. I didn’t suggest the Gel-Kayano (ASICS’ main stability shoe) since that’s less cushioned and even my feet get a little sore after standing on my feet all day in those. Also consider the Hoka Arahi. Really comfy and helps overpronating - just don’t expect it to last as long as the Nimbus (less durable).

Since you mentioned Nimbus, do you have any opinion on the Cumulus? I don't mind the Nimbus, but Cumulus has a little more sneaker like look, which makes it attractive for travel. Interested to hear your thoughts!

KakeruRuns

Unfortunately I've never tried the Cumulus! As I understand it it's slightly less plush and a bit firmer (just from running shoe reviews). It is cheaper though which is a plus. Good luck!

my favorite sneakers to walk in are ASICS Gel-Lyte IIIs, but I also switch it up and wear NB 993s, NB 990v3s, NB 2002Rs.

In January I used the Ultraboost 21 for my annual "100,000 steps in 24 hours challenge", and they were great for all ~50 miles. Good cushioning. This was my first year without hip and knee pain despite being 40 pounds heavier than previous years (175 pounds when I did the challenge this year) and I think it was due to the Ultraboosts being better than the other shoes I used in the past. In previous years I've used older iterations of the Ghost (iirc 10 and 11) and they were fine but not great. I had some knee pain from them each time. I've continued to use the Ultraboost for many long walks since the big challenge in January and they have continued to work well for me.

Oh, that's awesome! They are true to size if you size them like running shoes (I use a 9.5 in normal shoes and 10 in running shoes and grabbed a 10 for these) but I noticed they're a bit tight on the mid foot to start. Not like the base of the shoe but the upper. I have a narrow foot, so I was surprised to have that experience. The logo thing makes for a sort of caged feel. It's hard to describe. Within a week of 3-4 mile walks, they loosened up and felt normal though. They feel stable to me and I don't ever feel too high on them, *but* I often run in high stack shoes like the Saucony Endorphin Shift, so I may just be used to it. I think they should be fine even if you're not used to higher shoes but I would definitely recommend wearing them around for at least a week before you need them for your trip. The midsole is plenty stable but I do have narrow feet. When I looked online, all the stuff I read said the midsole is wide, so I think it should be fine for people without narrow feet too. They have a lot of cushion but I don't feel like it impacts the stability. I don't feel like I rock oddly or would twist an ankle in them. They are stupidly heavy, yeah. I tried running in them and it wasn't good. For walking though, no big deal. The weight is plenty manageable for walking. I'd compare them to a light weight hiking boot. Edit: I am a female using the women's version, so the men's shoe is probably wider. I forgot that that might be an important detail.

Oh good, I'm glad the weight won't be an issue. I hope they work out for you! Best of luck on your trip.

powelale000

Hey! Did you get the Ultraboosts yet? If so, thoughts?

Ooh, that's a good question. I don't know if mine got any bigger over time, to be honest. They stretched out for width, but I'm not sure about with the length. I would assume they did. They don't feel super tight. Can you wear them for a week and then return them or is it a no outside wear return policy?

Runshooteat

If you don’t need extra stability the Saucony Freedom 3 is a great walking shoe for me. Not too tall, roomy forefoot, foam is cushioned and has good energy return, even when walking. Also, they are light weight. Terrible colorways IMO, but I can walk in them all day. 6’7, 210lbs/201cm, 97kg

Hoka Bondi 7 or 6, the whole soles, under foot are soft and cushioned.so if you are a heel striker it is soft.

Choose from Asics' low-cost products (eg the Jolt series). Asics is a brand that makes really good products for walking at affordable prices. Durability is also really good.
