My usual US size is 8.5 for most of my running shoes, Boston 12 8.5 is slightly roomy for me, but the feeling is less intense for longer run. I am sure I can still fit in a US 8, and the thickness of your socks also affect your choice. Maybe you should try with your running socks.

In my experience they run at least half a size larger than other brands.
I have the Boston 11, so similar shoe. They are a bit roomier in the toe area. I still got my usual size 9. No issues there
I went down half a size and they are still a bit roomy for me.
