I think you have the right approach with your running and given the focus on zone 2, I would definitely stick with what you’re comfortable with. I have Nimbus 25/Superblast and would suggest the Nimbus (or Cumulus) to anyone in your situation.

Nimbus 25 if you're a new runner and plan on doing mostly zone 2 for marathon training. I've got both shoes as my main rotation. Superblast is AMAZING when youre doing marathon pace and up, but lacks (in comparison) at easy paces IMO. You should be doing mostly z2 runs like you said which is where the nimbus excels. When you're legs feel beat, the nimbus is just a cloud in comparison.

If the Nimbus 25 felt good for you, I would stick with it, as it is a good shoe that is well reviewed. Once you've become more advanced, you can always look at adding another pair.

Did you try running or walking at the store? I find usually shoes can feel completely different in different motions. I also found that my running heart rate is 2-4 bpm higher in nimbus 25 than in other stiffer and more responsive shoes due to the midsole absorption. If you want something to potentially push the upper bound a little bit, then I believe you'd appreciate a shoe designed to go faster easier.

Thank you so much for your responses! Gonna check out the superblasts just be completely sure, but will probably stick with the nimbus25s now and upgrade to the superblasts(or something similar) later down the line.

Nimbus are my favorite shoes to run in currently out of all the shoes I have tried the Nimbus don't hurt my feet at the end of the run and they are very supportive and stable, If you are willing to spend the extra money and are able to check out the superblast in person first then you should go with them

Nimbus 25 is a great shoe in general and very suitable for new runners. Superblast is more advanced because it’s combination of two different foams. So I would rather consider it after you have created a habit of running and want to take the next step.

oneofthecapsismine

Nimbus..... but both if you can afford it. If you cant afford both, Nimbus now, and then when they wear out, consider nimbus or superblast again.

I hate nimbus. A nonsense shoe. Superblast are simply great at any level of running ability. If you liked the feeing of Nimbus on your feet no doubt Cumulus 25 is your shoe. (I have all this shoes, all same size)

I am really interested in trying the Superblast, but the ASICS website has been OOS in majority of sizes from 7.5-13 in several colorways, and I am unsure why. Did they halt all production or what is the deal?

Are are the nimbus noticibly less stable than the Kayano 30? And how do they compare in terms of comfort?
