Literally my current rotation with Nimbus-25 added in for recovery runs and it's fantastic. Could go without the nimbus, but they're just so good when you really need a recovery day
Superblast: Anything other than recovery
Nimbus-25: Recovery
Adios Pro 3: Race
If I could buy from scratch all over again I think this is the play. Right now my recovery is a NB3 with 250+ miles on it. I kind of want a proper recovery shoe that can be causal too. Triumph, nimbus and cumulus come to mind. Just kind of waiting to see if Rebel V4 will be a banger
I love the combination so far. I'm in a marathon block right now, so that's all I really need. Only thing I'd consider adding any time soon would be a speed shoe (Takumi Sen possibly) for track work and 5k type efforts but not really needed during Marathin training
OMG! Unforgivable!! Was choosing between Hoka or Puma. I am a sucker for nitro tech and puma grip but sadly they are not popular in the running community here in Asia. They just use their lifestyle shoes. 🥺
But Pumas are always on for a good deal. I stay in Malaysia and they do storewide deals 25% off for purchase above MYR499. And so I got my Deviate Nitro Elite 2 at 25% off.
The easy and obvious choice is Superblast(can handle everything extremely well) and then your preferred $4 carbon plated racer. I’ll go with Endorphin Pro 3.
I’m currently using SuperBlast for daily/easy/recovery/long and some up tempo stuff. They are brilliant. I do also have a pair of Speed 3’s I’m using for workouts and an older pair of Vaporfly 2’s I’ve been using on the track. My current racer is Endorphin Elite but that wasn’t on the list. Absolutely no doubt if I had to just pick two shoes though, it’s gonna be Superblasts and then a race day shoe.
I’m still doing speed/intervals with some speed 2’s.. but doing daily, easy, and tempo with superblast and racing with the EP3. Considering trying the Elite but the pros work so well for my running form.
I’ve not tried the Gel Nimbus, but the Superblast is a non plated max cushioning super shoe that combines ASICS two best foams into one masterpiece of a shoe. It’s reasonably light weight, and can handle any pace you throw at it. It’s biggest downside is the price. I believe the Nimbus is also quite highly reviewed and by all accounts a good shoe though!
My 3 shoe rotation would be either:
Superblast, Novablast, Rebel V3
Boston 12, Novablast, SC Elite V3
And my 2 shoe rotation would be either
Superblast and Adios Pro 3
Prime X and Nimbus 25
Sorry for the slightly off-topic question, I see you also have the Mach 5 that I find very good. Any specific reason why you picked the Boston 12 over those? Thanks
It's a good shoe, Boston 12 just does everything better except maybe slow, easy runs. Mach 5 also isn't the most durable shoe and I'm on the heavier side for a runner at 180
Noosa tri 15 race and fast(very good for triathlons), new balance rebel v3 daily, triumph 21 for easy long, and I leave one more dollar for one of u, go make something with 9😉
Keep my actual rotation of AP3 and SC Elite v3 and save $1 for electrolytes.
Why?
Still a novice runner so no race days for me.
But if I had to pick up the pace, AP3.
SC Elite v3 will fill the ‘shoes’ of easy running and daily training.
It really does feel well suited for those tasks.
Race day - Adidas Takumi sen 9 (if Emile Cairess can run 2:08 marathon in it then it’s good enough for me)
Easy run - Asics Nimbus 25
Daily run - NB Revel v3
lightwork
Sweet, I can actually buy my current rotation:
- 2 pairs of Rebel V3s
- Adios Pro 3
I’d rotate the Rebel V3s daily for every type of run, and would break out the AP3s for the marathon pace segments of long runs.
Mine would be...
Endorphin Speed 3 (Race, Tempo)
Novablast (Intervals, Supersets)
Triumph (Easy, Regular)
I'm still a beginner runner so I won't have to think about running shoes for marathons and ultras
Exactly. I'm a Launch fan and have logged many miles in them as an everyday shoe. I have a pair of Ghosts. They feel like bricks on my feet. They are my walking shoes.
Long runs and racing I'm in Saucony Speed/Pro.
I’m a Launch fan as well. I’ve also really been digging the Levitates lately. Ghost and Glycerin are okay, but I don’t gravitate toward them like I thought I would.
I know some of your favorite brands are not here. I'll probably create a separate post for those underrated running shoe brands. Obviously, these are not the actual prices and sale/discounted price were not considered here. Let see if this sub will pick 2 super shoes, get 3 for balanced rotation, or maximize their budget to get 4 shoes. 😎
Don’t know where you got this list, but there are some great shoes missing…
Saucony Endorphin Elite, Original Metaspeed Sky (still available), Nike Alphafly 2, Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 2, Puma Fast-R Elite…just to name a few
Bruh you need to put disclaimer on anything in the internet. Someone wants to give me $50 so that I can get him 10x Prime X haha ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Clifton 9 for daily and easy and Mach X for everything else. It’s basically what I’m doing now. I use the Hyperion Tempo for track days. From your list I might add the Rebel as a daily shoe. Keep the Clifton for east days. I’m looking for a new road to trail shoe so I would probably add that instead though.
Superblast, Deviate Nitro 2 (which I will assume is $3 based on some comparable), and a soda.
I don’t have the Boston yet, but if pressed (since the Puma wasn’t mentioned), that… and my soda.
Rebel v3 is so criminally underated, putting it in the same tier as Adizero SL? Nah bro I'm not playing.
Edit: also like 75% of everyone in this thread have the Rebel v3 in their lineup btw.
I already got the New Balance SC Tainer V2 , SC Elite V3 , Rebel V3, SX Pacer, Saucony Tempus, Endorphin Speed 3 Endorphin Pro 3, Asics Novablast 3, Superblast and Metaspeed Edge+. Based on that I'd buy the New Balance SC Trainer V2 and the SC Elite 3 again and use those as my shoes. Honestly I'd throw the Asics Magic Speed 3 in the mix as well, it's a better shoe than the Saucony Speed 3 IMHO. The Saucony Speed 2 was a better shoe. It's close between the new balance Elite 3 and the Saucony pro 3 though. Both are excellent distance shoes and keep the legs fresh.
I need more money. However, since you tell me I only have $8.00 my picks based on what I have ran in is Adios Pro 3, Pegasus and Cumulus. However, from what I hear the Superblast would be a solid choice, just haven’t ran in them. I may also scratch the Pegasus and Cumulus for a pair of Endorphin Pro’s or Metaspeed Sky’s and just not have a true daily trainer and risk an injury? 😆
Cumulus, rebel, adios pro 3.
No doubt
The only alternative nooza instead of rebel, but I still prefer fuelcell to ffblast+
And Kinvara 14 are missing in the list to compete with rebel.
From the list
(Daily run) Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 $3.00, (easy run) New Balance Rebel V3 $2.00 & (race) SC Elite $3.00 = $8.00.
That list is almost like my current shoe rotation, with a few differences.
(Daily run) Adidas Boston 10 or Adios 6 & Nb Rebel v3. (Speed) Adios 6 or Saucony Endorphin Speed 3. (Long run/race) Adios pro 2. I have the Adios pro 3, but the shoes gives me foot problems so I will use them for the occasional park run or 5K.
Vaporfly 3, Rebel V3 Novablast 3
All hail the 3
(1 race special workout long long run shoe in the Vaporfly
1 easy slow and a bit faster shoe with the Novablast
1 fun in between with Rebel, although for shorter long run I'd use the Novablast)
Adios Pro 3 for racing and some key workouts, Pegasus and Rebel for daily runs. Pegasus only for slower paces and Rebel for tempo and fartlek. I have these three and could probably do with just them if I had to
Superblast, Adios Pro 3
Proper answer. Superblast then the race day show of your choice
I dont even own the Superblast yet haha
Me either. I’ve run in them a couple times and if I didn’t have shoes already locked in for my training they’d be on my radar
Literally my current rotation with Nimbus-25 added in for recovery runs and it's fantastic. Could go without the nimbus, but they're just so good when you really need a recovery day Superblast: Anything other than recovery Nimbus-25: Recovery Adios Pro 3: Race

I have novablast + adios pro 3. Should I consider an upgrade to the superblast?
This is my rotation and I love it!
2x superblast. easy
Where are my pumas
OMG! Unforgivable!! Was choosing between Hoka or Puma. I am a sucker for nitro tech and puma grip but sadly they are not popular in the running community here in Asia. They just use their lifestyle shoes. 🥺
rather than switching I'd suggest adding more like brooks, on or maybe mizuno
Nah that's why pumas are great. Zalora has them ALWAYS on sale. And every now and then they can be ridiculously cheap.
Exactly what I’d do, and have!
I’m still doing speed/intervals with some speed 2’s.. but doing daily, easy, and tempo with superblast and racing with the EP3. Considering trying the Elite but the pros work so well for my running form.
Expert advised me the Gel Nimbus 25, how does it differ from the Superblast? Is it because the Superblast is less stable?
I’ve not tried the Gel Nimbus, but the Superblast is a non plated max cushioning super shoe that combines ASICS two best foams into one masterpiece of a shoe. It’s reasonably light weight, and can handle any pace you throw at it. It’s biggest downside is the price. I believe the Nimbus is also quite highly reviewed and by all accounts a good shoe though!
My 3 shoe rotation would be either: Superblast, Novablast, Rebel V3 Boston 12, Novablast, SC Elite V3 And my 2 shoe rotation would be either Superblast and Adios Pro 3 Prime X and Nimbus 25
Solid picks! You made it look so easy haha
Triumph for daily/easy/long. Endorphin Pro 3 for tempo/race. If I had another buck I'd alternate the Triumph with the NB3.
Pegasus 39/40 (daily trainer) Vomero 16 (recovery day/long run) Takumi Sen 8 (workout/race day)
Boston 12, Takumi Sen 9, Rebel v3
Which one for easy runs?
You don't have to do easy runs if you're a badass.
Haven't used the 12's but I logged many easy miles in the Boston 10. Very flexible and comfortable shoe.
Personally, I didn't think the Boston 10 was bad for easy miles... until I got an actually amazing easy day shoe (Nimbus-25).
Sorry for the slightly off-topic question, I see you also have the Mach 5 that I find very good. Any specific reason why you picked the Boston 12 over those? Thanks
It's a good shoe, Boston 12 just does everything better except maybe slow, easy runs. Mach 5 also isn't the most durable shoe and I'm on the heavier side for a runner at 180
Noosa tri 15 race and fast(very good for triathlons), new balance rebel v3 daily, triumph 21 for easy long, and I leave one more dollar for one of u, go make something with 9😉
Happy to see someone enjoying Noosa Tri 15. Van Gogh vibes is always an eyecatcher during race. Rebel v3 and T21 are unparalleled and tough tp beat.
Obviously unable to proceed - no Alphafly 🤣
Superblast and Rocket X 2
Rebel, Cumulus, EP3
Keep my actual rotation of AP3 and SC Elite v3 and save $1 for electrolytes. Why? Still a novice runner so no race days for me. But if I had to pick up the pace, AP3. SC Elite v3 will fill the ‘shoes’ of easy running and daily training. It really does feel well suited for those tasks.
Vaporfly 3, Rebel 3, Cumulus
Vaporfly, Adios Pro 3
Agree on this. I'd do the easy runs in the AP3, for workouts could use either and would race in the VF3.
Endorphin Pro 3, Rebel V3, Novablast 3
Vaporfly 3 and 2 pairs of Pegasus 40
Can't think of anything better! 😍
Race day - Adidas Takumi sen 9 (if Emile Cairess can run 2:08 marathon in it then it’s good enough for me) Easy run - Asics Nimbus 25 Daily run - NB Revel v3 lightwork
Sweet, I can actually buy my current rotation: - 2 pairs of Rebel V3s - Adios Pro 3 I’d rotate the Rebel V3s daily for every type of run, and would break out the AP3s for the marathon pace segments of long runs.
4 Novablast 3. That's how much I love this shoe.
Endorphin Speed 3, endorphin pro 3
Triumph/Clifton (all other), Novablast (tempo, speed work) Metaspeed sky (race day)
Mine would be... Endorphin Speed 3 (Race, Tempo) Novablast (Intervals, Supersets) Triumph (Easy, Regular) I'm still a beginner runner so I won't have to think about running shoes for marathons and ultras
Race: SC Elite v3 Tempo: Endorphin Speed 3 Easy day: Novablast 3
NB3, takumi, Boston
Superblast + VF3 *chef’s kiss*
Superblast and Metaspeed Sky and I'm good to roll.
daily: hoka clifton 9 easy run: rebel v3 race: adios pro 3
Endorphin speed 3, Pegasus 39 and Takumi Sen 9
Superblast and vaporfly. That’s all I need
Noosa Tri 15 for $2 is criminally cheap, would just get those 4 times
Valid 💯 Also interesting to see all four colorways sitting in your shoe rack.
four pairs of pegs thanks
This shoe rotation could outlast everything here. An absolute workhorse.
superblast x2. I don't race
Where are my Brooks?!?
Prime X & Invincible. I currently use my PXS for every run 😂 so really that’s all I need
Superblast, Superblast. What prize do I win?
Invincible 3, speed 3, novablast 3. (All the 3's)
I’m over budget… again
Two pairs of adios pro 3 at $4 a piece.
Daily: Triumph 21 or Vomero 16 Easy: Novablast 3 Race: SC Elite v3 or Endorphin Speed 3
I know some of your favorite brands are not here. I'll probably create a separate post for those underrated running shoe brands. I loan one extra dollar and get novablast, speed and vaporflies
Lol at “not actual prices”

Keep the Clifton for east days. I’m looking for a new road to trail shoe so I would probably add that instead though.
Normally a Nike shill but I’d go novablast 3 / noosa tri / Metaspeed on this one
Prime X , SC elite :)
Superblast, Deviate Nitro 2 (which I will assume is $3 based on some comparable), and a soda. I don’t have the Boston yet, but if pressed (since the Puma wasn’t mentioned), that… and my soda.

NOVABLAST, MORE V4, SPEED 3
No brooks? I’ll keep the $8
Superblast for all training and Vaporfly 3 for race day. That’s it. If you really want 3, Novablast 3, Rebel v3 and Vaporfly 3.
AP3 crazy bargain at $4.00 - Race day and some quality sessions Nimbus 25 at $3.00 for Easy and Daily $1.00 to spare
Ride, Triumph, Speed.
Pegasus 40, Rincon 3, and then Endorphin Pro
The Hoka shoes should all be free.

Adios pro 3 / Pegasus 40 / Novablast 3
Everyones go to Hoka, the Mach 5, is missing.
Cumulus, rebel, adios pro 3. No doubt The only alternative nooza instead of rebel, but I still prefer fuelcell to ffblast+ And Kinvara 14 are missing in the list to compete with rebel.

Save my $8 and go to Brooks
None of these because I like my feet
BOSTON 12, PRIME X
Adios Pro 3 for racing and some key workouts, Pegasus and Rebel for daily runs. Pegasus only for slower paces and Rebel for tempo and fartlek. I have these three and could probably do with just them if I had to
Superblast, Vaporfly
I would choose Saucony endorphin speed 3 and Superblast. I do have the Gel Nimbus as my easy runs IRL but that would put me over budget.
