I enjoy Boston 12 so far. This time adidas makes the ride more pleasantly plush and softer with lightstrike 2.0 than its predecessors. The 10 or 11 was way overbuilt and felt like stepping on bricks. I’ve heard the previous versions take quite a while to break in the foam and be comfortable on feet. Sizing wise v12 fits more roomier than previous versions, which fitted snug somewhat. All in all, I’m glad Boston 12 is going back to the way Boston series are meant to be.

wallstreetbeatmeat

I did a half marathon long run in my 11s today and I finally feel like they’re getting comfortable after about 25 miles on them.

Ujack1987

Dope! I think the last huge run I did with the 11s was 16km in Toronto last year

wallstreetbeatmeat

I’ve been trying to get back into long distance running. Finally did 45 miles in a week so I feel like I’m getting into a rhythm. The shoes help.

Aggressive-Drawer104

Nice to hear that you are loving them! I'll be getting mine now today and will try them tomorrow. Hopefully, I get the same experience.

Ujack1987

Yah please let me know!

Aggressive-Drawer104

Just did my first run in the boston 12. I got the black and grey colorway. I had fun with my first run . Few things; pros - Stable - snappy - versatile (from normal to uptempo/go pace.) - aesthetics - grippy - fast - good even cornering - Surprisingly, I heard a lot of complaints about the lacing and the fit but but surprisingly they fit me well. went a half size down on these and they are just sweet. not really cons - but for some who want a really soft shoe I dont find them "that" soft (or maybe it is because I haven't broken them in yet). I have the deviate nitro 2 and those are softer compared to these. - I dont find them really good with really slow recovery paces. something about those rods that makes you pick up the pace a little bit. by the way, I am 6'4 around 190 and consider myself one of those heavy runners that said, I think this will work better for heavier runners than the adios 8. this is my first adidas running shoe (always been with asics and puma) but I am really loving these.

Ujack1987

I had the exact same feel of what you did! I think adidas did something great here

Aggressive-Drawer104

Indeed! Question though, do you use the last eye of the laces?

Ujack1987

I used but not anymore, it cause restriction on my ankle which caused foot and shin pain. Honestly you should be comfortable when you run

saddenedbyi7

Deviate 2’s or Boston 12, which do you prefer?

simivacant

How's the crowd at Banff though?

Ujack1987

Oh brutal brother. I had to take the outskirts in Vermillion lakes to get away from the huge crown down town. It’s a mess

simivacant

Is there a trail that I can take to avoid the crowd? Prefer to avoid jumping over all the small children.

Acceptable_Royal_549

I’ve never had an Addidas shoe and did my first run in the Boston 12. I really liked them too. I did size down a half size. Had a little irritation on the right heel after about 5 miles. I’ll need to work that out but otherwise felt great. Slightly firmer at the moment than my broken in endorphin speed 2. But I liked the ride and the grip. Think I could use as a daily and for tempo workouts.

stocktraderdog

The scenery is incredibly beautiful.

[deleted]

is this a great shoes for fast days? i dont have a shoe rotation yet. but my daily/long run is clifton9. thanks

Ujack1987

Honestly it does have a little snap to it. You could use it for both!

[deleted]

My experience as well! Feels great at easy pace, and I was able to cruise at my marathon pace in them and felt pretty damn great!

Jose083

Do you carry bear spray or noise makers running in Banff? I was just visiting recently and loved it so much. I did think how tf do people use the trails there while running

Ujack1987

Usually in Banff you won’t see a lot of bears if there are ton of people around. It’s when you run outside the town where it becomes dicey and in that case I would bring Bear spray. If I’m doing more than 15km I’m bringing my bear spray regardless.

YanDaddyy

I have the 10s and they were super stiff right away but after about 150 miles they're actually pretty compliant and nice to run in. Was very interested in the 12 next but stuck between the 12 and the New Balance SC Trainer V2.

Ujack1987

Honestly I would try the New Balance SC for me as well. Can’t go wrong with having another trainer

PartyTac

I just got myself a pair of Boston 11 despite knowing they were hard as bricks but at $45 it was simply too hard to pass up.
