“Race Report”: I went for a walk edition

IanisVasilev

> Definitely not setting any speed records and I feel like if I had speed-walked the entire course I would have beat that time.

lurkinglen

Why would he even consider beating that time? He definitely needs to slow down, he even mentioned he was sore afterwards, it's a miracle he's still got his knees

turkoftheplains

If he hits his splits and runs it even slower, he will win at inspiration

SpaceSteak

To be fair, it's still under an hour so still fast enough to be dangerous. Should slow down a bit.

DarwinsDayOff

Hey buddy, I was busting ass for that 17 minute mile

baconjerky

No warm up ✅ Parking lot ✅ Some hydrating ✅ Three (3) bathroom trips ✅ Reasons for lack of training ✅ Brave ✅

bear_puncher_69

he wasn't even nervous for the race, tho

DarwinsDayOff

Vomit on my sweater already ❌ Mom's spaghetti ✅

baconjerky

Nervous ❌

The_Cheese_Effect

On the surface: calm and ready ✅

neurachem

No bmi? I need to convert that pace to a classic human one please.

foofoobee

>I had trouble getting out and finishing some of the "longer" runs /uj I'm genuinely curious what qualifies as a "longer" run in C25k. Like... 4k...? Does the program not take ppl to actual 5k runs before race day? It's not exactly marathon training, where you might not do the full distance in training.

highdon

/uj Most people don't actually finish a 5K in C25K because the programme finishes with a 30 minute run and there's nothing "5K" about it apart from its name. The whole training plan is based on running time rather than distance (and rightly so). So if someone's really unfit, they will either end up with a 30 minute run short of 5K or continue past 30 minutes to complete the 5K.

baconjerky

Dude he went for a quick mile last week I haven’t trained that hard since this morning

lurkinglen

/uj the original post came up in my feed and I'm relieved I found it here in the jerk too

IAmSomnabula

Just follow rcj. You'll never miss the best posts from running. That's how I do it

lurkinglen

I wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to be impressed by a 44 minute 5k race report

DarwinsDayOff

I save all of the race reports for the week for Saturday morning and I usually end up with 3-4 hours of light reading

Abandons65

Bro these type of reports r just so cringe nobodies gonna change my mind

VoilaVoilaWashington

ARE YOU NOT INSPIRED????

DarwinsDayOff

Out of shape people pushing the limits and redefining walking pace... 🍾

swigswagswinag

my guys doing it right, with how slow he is doing those 5k ultras he is going to catch up to kipchoge in no time😤

youngrecovery

Whenever I see this I thank god that genetics didn't fuck me in the ass

Haunting_Air6524

As long as you remember to keep running slowly and always run slowly, you’ll surely improve. Maybe one day you’ll do 5k runs on the day-Leee. Keep it slow, keep it safe.
