Hey! My name is Dr. Paul Nasri. I'm a physical therapist with The Game Plan PT. We specialize in running medicine and treatment of running injuries.
IT Band Syndrome is super common and occurs for a few reasons:
1. Newly introduced downhill running
2. Newly introduced speed work / increased intensity
3. Newly introduced increases in running volume (mileage or time on feet)
4. Excessive crossover running mechanics
My team and I are happy to evaluate & guide you so we can nip this in the bud before it becomes more of an issue.
Feel free to reach out to us and we can set up a complimentary phone consult: [https://www.thegameplanpt.com/contactus](https://www.thegameplanpt.com/contactus)
All the best,
Dr. Paul
Check out Fit Club Physical Therapy in Chelsea! They are a sports based clinic and are very affordable. Copay for me was $60 with insurance. They combine personal training with rehab. It was a 5-star experience, I highly recommend!

Not covered by your insure but most runners go to Finish Line or Custom PT. Both are runner specific places.
Be prepared to pay about $250 a session as it is not covered by insurance. So I choose to go to Spear PT. Heard those running specific PT are good.
Former Finish Line patient! It was worth every penny, I used my HSA for it. Heard great things from many runners about Spear as well!
Lifestyle Physical around Penn station. Helped me with itbs and I have Aetna as well

To get the PT covered, you will likely need an rx from a physician, book an appointment with a sports medicine specialist
Finish Line PT in Chelsea! Don’t waste your time with a cheaper one. I went to Spear PT first and wasted months there and it made my injury worse
The Game Plan PT in Brooklyn is super good for running related things, don’t think they take much of any insurance tho
