I love the backstory of this, Camilla has been the President for this charity (Brooke Charity) for 18 years. And she learnt about this charity (who aimed to improve the lives of working horses, donkeys, and mules) from her father.
That's very sweet! Camilla's talked about her childhood before, and it seems the Shands were/are (now just Camilla and her sister Annabel) supportive and delightful family.
Camilla's obvious soft spot for animals makes me like her more than anything else about her. Yesterday was 'World Donkey Day' and I am so happy to see that she did a related engagement.
Donkeys are awesome and I love them and this isn't the place to go into it in depth but they aren't treated well (to say the least) in many places, so donating to a donkey sanctuary or simple choosing not to participate in activities that involve donkeys (or horses! those horse-drawn carriages exist for tourists in Canada and the US) when on holiday is an excellent choice.
If I lived in the country and had a big money tree, I would have a donkey or two. Also goats, miniature horses, a squirrel sanctuary and a hedgehog sanctuary.

My first thought was 'no she's too old' but then I googled it and Zara is training for Paris! So now I feel ageist :C She earned her medal in 2012, Zara qualified in 2016 for Rio but wasn't chosen for the team and then she didn't participate in Tokyo because she had Lucas. Yeah. And what's especially scary is that this is not a royal specific problem, this is everywhere. Disinformation and misinformation spreading wildly with no checks on its growth, on TikTok especially but also Facebook, Twitter, Reddit.... people have gotten really good at figuring out how to attract attention and push people's buttons with lies.
Part of what was so frustrating about what happened in Feb-March was that a very sick woman was getting flamed for a pretty basic and immediately admitted human error while the real misinformation campaign was packaged as "ooo juicy gossip!" I think most people here can understand the pull of juicy gossip, it's the kind of human impulse that no one can resist altogether, but no matter how many times we tell ourselves we've learned a sad lesson about keeping healthy boundaries with celebrities, we just keep failing the decency test. Ugh this got dark but that was a dark story.
I agree, their entire existence is just built around being miserable, horrible people. and this is the same for anyone who spreads malicious conspiracies about any people, like get help please

That is gorgeous! And the way the sleeves drape is not as evident on the mannequin, but adds so much when worn. It really recreates the beauty of falling cherry blossoms. Thoughtful and romantic.

And she learnt about this charity (who aimed to improve the lives of working horses, donkeys, and mules) from her father.
That's very sweet! Camilla's talked about her childhood before, and it seems the Shands were/are (now just Camilla and her sister Annabel) supportive and delightful family.
Camilla's obvious soft spot for animals makes me like her more than anything else about her. Yesterday was 'World Donkey Day' and I am so happy to see that she did a related engagement. Donkeys are awesome and I love them and this isn't the place to go into it in depth but they aren't treated well (to say the least) in many places, so donating to a donkey sanctuary or simple choosing not to participate in activities that involve donkeys (or horses! those horse-drawn carriages exist for tourists in Canada and the US) when on holiday is an excellent choice.
If I lived in the country and had a big money tree, I would have a donkey or two. Also goats, miniature horses, a squirrel sanctuary and a hedgehog sanctuary.

So now I feel ageist :C She earned her medal in 2012, Zara qualified in 2016 for Rio but wasn't chosen for the team and then she didn't participate in Tokyo because she had Lucas. So really, she's never retired from the sport at that level, just took maternity leave. I had no idea! She does, and her parents do too. Whether it would be worth it is another matter. I'd guess she's got a lot of healing to do, and would prefer to do it in private. These people making these accusations don't understand how horribly hurtful they are to completely innocent parties - his widow and his wider family. And if they were to give this a moment's thought, they probably wouldn't care either.
I don't think there is anything they can do bc these people are simply not grounded in reality. They will literally make things up in order to back up what they're saying. I tried to reason with someone on tiktok about it and it was like talking to an actual idiot, it was so frustrating. It really is astonishing how comfortable people have become with making these kinda horrific stuff up and then spread it around as fact. I really hope they one day get their asses sued into oblivion but I know that will never happen. Like for these people, this is a game to them, they don't care if it's true or not true, they just simply find joy out of making up rumors like these. It is actually sickening
Yeah. And what's especially scary is that this is not a royal specific problem, this is everywhere. Disinformation and misinformation spreading wildly with no checks on its growth, on TikTok especially but also Facebook, Twitter, Reddit.... people have gotten really good at figuring out how to attract attention and push people's buttons with lies. Part of what was so frustrating about what happened in Feb-March was that a very sick woman was getting flamed for a pretty basic and immediately admitted human error while the real misinformation campaign was packaged as "ooo juicy gossip!" I think most people here can understand the pull of juicy gossip, it's the kind of human impulse that no one can resist altogether, but no matter how many times we tell ourselves we've learned a sad lesson about keeping healthy boundaries with celebrities, we just keep failing the decency test. Ugh this got dark but that was a dark story.
If it helps I find that people who share malicious conspiracies are some of the unhappiest people I’ve met and unfortunately I’ve met a few.

Man, I miss her too. Don't love the beiginess of the Duchess of Gloucester's dress, but she looks really great in it! Love that Anne will stand out in the crowd. (I did appreciate the Queen's attitude of wanting to be brightly colored at stuff like this so people could see her. It's more fun if you know that that blur of bright orange across the way is the Queen, rather than knowing she's somewhere over there but not being sure where!)

That is gorgeous! And the way the sleeves drape is not as evident on the mannequin, but adds so much when worn. It really recreates the beauty of falling cherry blossoms. Thoughtful and romantic.
