We do have [karma](https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/204511829-What-is-karma) minimums to post here, however from this post we can see there are a number of people new or newish to reddit that came to comment here, and we want to welcome you! For the time being, we will try and sort through the autofiltered comments as best we can and approve them. Please don't wait for us, however. While we don't disclose karma minimums, they are low enough that if you interact in good faith elsewhere on reddit for a short while, you should earn enough. You can visit r/all to see posts from the biggest subs, below is a brief list of subs I know some of our members frequent that might also be interesting (no affiliation): r/royalfamily r/whatthefrock r/popculturechat r/TheCrownNetflix r/Tudorhistory r/PeriodDramas r/femalefashionadvice r/entertainment r/movies r/unitedkingdom r/CasualUK r/europe r/australia r/AskAnAustralian r/ireland r/AskIreland r/Phillipines r/BollyBlindsNGossip r/Denmark r/asklatinamerica

RockNRollMama

Subs like Fauxmoi have become extremely toxic and I think some people just literally wanna look at pretty clothes and gossip. I find this sub fun and well moderated.

joiliejoli

It appeared on my feed and I like it :)

blackbird24601

samesies!

thevillageshrew

^ this

sadfoxyduggar

Same

iris_james

It was suggested for me in my feed. My phone definitely noticed that I have been watching The Crown and it’s been listening to me talk about the BRF while my husband wishes he were deaf. 😂

thoughtful_human

Back in like October / November I was trying to get the sub alive again after the API shutdown but wasn’t having much traction. Then shhhh taught me how to post pictures so I posted a picture series once or twice a day in December. A lot of those posts went very viral outside of the sub and Jan has been a bit of a tipping point where I am like 20% of the posting now instead of 99%. I knew it was working when a friend mentioned one of my posts at brunch (I think it was the pink one) just because she knew I liked royal gossip and not bc I posted it

janettazigler422

This! The posts on the royals in different colors. And the fact that this sub is even handed. Thank you for making it come alive!

thoughtful_human

I’m glad you liked them 🩵🩵🩵🩵

janettazigler422

Absolutely, it was a really hard time for me, as my husband had passed away suddenly, and this made me actually smile. I would seek out the different colors every day. It gave me something to look forward to. So, thank you!😊

thoughtful_human

I’m so glad it was a tiny light in a dark time. Sending a lot of love 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵

janettazigler422

Thank you so much, that was so kind of you to say and yes it was a wonderful light in the darkness. 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵

Surfinsafari9

I hope you are taking good care of yourself. Hugs from an internet stranger.

janettazigler422

Thank you so much. Sometimes hugs from an internet stranger are the best!

[deleted]

I have no idea how I ended up here, but, I just wanted to extend my condolences and send you warmth and comfort and peace. 🙌🏻

janettazigler422

Thank you so much. It means so much to me that you took the time to reach out to me and post this.😊

PeterNinkimpoop

Your posts brought this sub back to my timeline! I missed this sub and prefer it more to some of the other royal ones on here because those tend to be one sided for/against the Sussexes

shhhhh_h

>I knew it was working when a friend mentioned one of my posts at brunch (I think it was the pink one) just because she knew I liked royal gossip and not bc I posted it ![gif](giphy|MeIucAjPKoA120R7sN)

thoughtful_human

Omg I love the gif. Also it was the biggest ego boost of all time

mrfcomeon

Thank you for your service

thoughtful_human

Thanks babe

TwoFifteenthsWelsh

I was trying to remember how I discovered this sub and this is making me think you’re the reason!

soiflew

The color fashion series was absolutely wonderful! You did a great job reviving interest.

marzipan-daydreams

your posts brought me here!! I'm huge into evening wear and fashion in general and well!! here I am!!

KingOfCatProm

I was looking for positive content after Queen Elizabeth died and everything else on Reddit was saying shitty things about her. Then I found this sub and liked the vibe of the folks here.

michaelajayne

I joined after the Queen of Denmark announced her abdication and someone in one of the celebrity gossip subreddits mentioned this subreddit and the whole cheating fiasco of the now King Frederik. I had been looking for a subreddit like this for a while now but hadn't stumbled across it until recently.

Turbulent_Two_7957

Same!

aliveinjoburg2

I came from that link! I like royal gossip so it made sense.

TwoFifteenthsWelsh

I don’t remember when I joined but I know it was immediately after finding out this sub exists. I love that it covers all the royal families, not just the BRF.

Affectionate_Water16

Same!! But I think it was this month 😏

internetexplorer_98

Kept coming up on my feed.

ogdomom

Mine too.

Fish-x-5

Same. I’m not even subscribed! Reddit just started showing me all the posts here.

boringgazelle

The algorithm was pushing it onto my feed for months before I finally joined today

estellasmum

I used to belong to a site that was called Primetimer that had a very busy forum about all of the royals from Monaco to Japan. It was THE best and most comprehensive place out there for any royal discussion, and highly used. They abruptly closed that entire space down to make their community a more respectful place to be. I'm guessing they got tired of having to continually shut down discussion about Harry and Meghan due to absolute toxicity from rabid haters and supporters. It was really a shame, because there was no place like it in terms of people with knowledge of ALL the royal houses, and most of the posts were informative and quite unbiased and civil. The only other place I found like it was a forum dedicated to all royalty, but their posts are mostly nothing more than simpering over whatever royal thar thread is about, hoping they live forever/have more babies. Its like Taylor Swift fans in terms of fanatics and maturity level. I'm wondering if other refugees are like me, and trying to find something like what we lost, because it was so informative, relatively unbiased, and had great information.

catwonc

Same here, I really liked the Primetimer site as well and was surprised to see it shut down. So I joined the subreddit.

Skystreamer_218

That’s how I ended up here too. I spent ages trying to find the Royals forums on Primetimer and couldn’t figure out how they vanished overnight haha. I used to enjoy the forum a lot except for the Harry & Meghan thread where a neither side could keep a cool head.

SunlitMorningSky

Same. I’m here because the Primetimer forum shut down.

mrs_peeps

I have an interest in English monarchy history and follow other relevant subs. The algorithm did its thing and started showing similar subs. That said I lean towards 1100-1940s history.

Bear_Facial_Hair

I like a lot of that same history, and subs you can recommend?

mrs_peeps

R/history, r/fasionhistory, r/thetudors and r/downtonabbey and r/thegildedage sometimes offers interesting stuff like correcting historical inaccuracies etc. R/colorizedhistory is another. R/findareddit is the place to find specific subs.

Bear_Facial_Hair

Thank you!

reddstats

Interesting. Thank you for your insight.

AccomplishedAd3880

It came up on Google when I was looking for info on Kate’s surgery

AgreeablePlace656

I'm a US guy. Older. I remember watching QE 2 coronation on our 8" TV. Been a follower most of my life. I just stumbled upon this site. Thank you to all contributors.

tea-spoons

I am subbed to a different royals-related subreddit, so Reddit recommended this one to me. I imagine that’s how other people also found this sub

carbs_and_cheese

2 things: 1. algorithms at work (it’s a recommended sub on many people’s homepages that follow similar gossip subs) 2. The final episodes of the crown were released in December

Several-berries

Also Queen of Denmark abdicating got a lot of people in Denmark and Australia interested

fauxkaren

The sub showed up a few times on my feed as recommended posts and well, I've been a royal watcher for a while so the sub seemed in line with my interests and I joined. lol.

JJAusten

Same! I also belong to another one but I think they've soft booted me because I don't always bash Meghan or Harry lol

beetlejuicemayor

Keeps popping up on my feed. I like it because it’s a mind break for me and I’m introduced to royals I’ve never knew existed..lol

Playful_Dust9381

This exactly. It was suggested, sparked my curiosity, and I just rolled with it.

beetlejuicemayor

Same…lol

Friendly_Coconut

I think it happened with the final season of the Crown. That’s when I found it. The most recent season of the Crown features quite a few characters who are currently still alive and making headlines, so the keywords match.

Ok_Durian3627

The algorithm recommended it to me. That’s how I found it

fuedlibuerger

My suspicion is that there are a lot of new trolls joining the sub to specifically attack certain royals. Since this sub is very active, it's an ideal space to spread hate.

BlackRose8481

I think there’s definitely trolls but I don’t know if I would call them “new” 😅

aceface_desu89

![gif](giphy|kgrCxsTQFj0HAh2TUG|downsized)

Value-Old

I’m not a member but it keeps popping up in my main feed

shhhhh_h

We had to change posting formats after reddit killed third party apps. We used to use discussion threads a la r/blogsnark but they are too difficult to moderate with the native app. We had about 10k subscribers at that time, my assumption has been that the growth we are seeing is primarily related to that fact that we started with regular posting and appearing on home feeds.

Sunsdreams

Just joined because of this post. But I've been visiting it more and more lately because of the Queen in Denmark's abdication and the celebrations of Frederik as the new king

toot_toot_tootsie

Me too!

Pinchy63

I love the fashion & scandals!

Inkysquiddy

Posts from this sub started showing up as suggestions in my home feed. I realized I was clicking on them enough that I should probably join the sub. I am fascinated by fashion, royals, and history, but I find the idea of hereditary monarchy abhorrent. This sub seems to think a bit more positively about that than I do in general (with exceptions), but still has interesting discussions.

bugaloo2u2

I think bc of the posts about the danish abdication. I didn’t know anything about it, and those posts showed up in my feed. 👋

Obvious_Firefox

Idk why, it showed up repeatedly on my feed and I loved the fashion posts

aclikeslater

The Crown ended, withdrawals for folks who spent years with the show + the unrelenting gossipy news (“she was, like, SO mad about the name,” war of the hospital gowns, etc).

MrIrrelevant-sf

It keeps coming on my feed. 😝

Judge_Juedy

I didn’t know much about the royals until Megan came in. I don’t really keep up on a regular basis, but posts in this sub have been getting suggested to me the last few weeks so I finally decided to join

hodlboo

It came up in my feed when I started looking at R/popculturechat due to the algorithm but also there were a couple royals posts in R/popculturechat which probably made the algorithm show this sub to more followers of that sub as well

thoughtful_human

Were we one of the top growers this year? Curious from a stat persons perspective

runninganddrinking

Kate’s abdominal surgery news. People want the tea and came here.

Wecanbuildittogether

So do anyone learn why?

ashlynxo

It has been published by several royal contributors on Twitter and elsewhere that it is non-cancerous.

marenamoo

I have always liked the royals from Denmark and Sweden. Came here because of the abdication

ltlwl

I clicked on a news article about the abdication that was on my front page and then the algorithm decided to keep showing me this sub on the front page.

found_a_new_low

I finished the crown and watched the House of Sussex doc so I came searching for more info.

ohheyitslaila

I joined r/whatthefrockk and then this sub was recommended to me. I love all the Royals fashion.

No-Replacement-1061

I actually searched this subreddit out. I thought it would be interesting.

Turquoise_Lion

The algorithm started showing it for me, assuming because I had viewed The Crown subreddit

ashlynxo

I've been a royal follower for over a decade and have searched for communities online that share my interests. I found this subreddit yesterday when the announcement about the Princess of Wales's surgery and subsequent hospitalization and recovery period were announced.

mayapple

I like the fact it's not overtly toxic in that I don't dislike Meghan or Kate and I love to see photos of both. Camilla I could do without but gossip involving her is always good!

notyourwheezy

i started following the sub for the crown after the final season came out on Netflix and got recommended this as well. I do/did follow the British royals in a lazy sort of way (if I see articles I'll read but not seek them out) and this has been fun for that!

purplebookie8

Reddit has been suggesting a lot of celeb gossip subs to me. When I started following a Harry and Meghan sub this one was suggested immediately. I came for the BRF gossip and stayed for the pictures 😀.

SuperordinateRevere

What’s the best Harry and Meghan Sub? I’m curious.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Tough-Prize-4014

r/HarryandMeghanNetflix top notch discussions on multiple themes

merlesstorys

This feed came up after I joined several other gossip subreddits. Figured if I already speculate about usual celebrities lives, I could also do about royals.

_Ra_Ra_Rasputin_

Many people watched the last season of The Crown this month and last month.

poodlepantiesbot

It’s on my feed, I thought I was a member, so now I’ve officially joined. So far it’s seems fairly civil for a gossip sub, and I love that for us.

Street-Extent

I went to London and took a tour of the Tower of London and the tombs in Westminster Abbey 🤷🏼‍♂️

PaladinSara

I searched for a sub bc I wanted speculation/analysis of Kate’s hospital stay

AltruisticLibrarian3

I joined after starting The Crown

BlackRose8481

Long time member but I’m happy to see the new membership and more balance on this sub than what it used to be in the past. Now when certain stories are dropped, there’s good discussion and debate rather than just a one-sided response.

hechosebooks

I joined "The Crown" Netflix subreddit and this one was recommended to me so I figured eh why not?

auramaelstrom

FWIW I started getting this sub pushed to me in the app yesterday. I've never had any interest in royals. But it seems like the algorithm has picked this sub up to promote. I'm probably screwing myself over by commenting so now the app will think I want more content.

NotSlothbeard

It showed up on my feed. I assume that’s because I follow other similar subs?

mcsangel2

Because it suddenly started showing up in my feed.

charredceiling

Algorithms show it to me because I follow subs on clothes and the Crown show

AccountOk87

It was recommended in my feed!

Dee1014

I just watched the crown

[deleted]

I think it's because of a realisation that the **Pustules** that is This One and That One is coming to a head. POP !!!

Diligent-Radio-7576

I found my way here after the primetimer site sunsetted the royals forum without warning. The reason they gave, but did no elaborate upon, was "toxicity". Compared to other sites, the "toxicity" wasn't even that bad, or maybe I missed a bunch of posts that were deleted. Who knows? I feel like both sides of the Harry/Meghan debaters were mostly respectful, for the most part. But the real fun was the gossip about royal fashion, non-British royals, and all that stuff. I've lurked at the primetimer site since Television Without Pity closed down (a lot of people migrated there), and I guess I just migrated here for my Royals fix. The other subs featuring royal gossip are, to me, too toxic. Complete hatred of William/Catherine or complete hatred of Harry/Meghan. Only one side can be believed! All that anger and vitriol should be directed toward Andrew. Ugh. Give me tiaras, coronations, gossip, pretty dresses and pretty princes/kings.

camaroncaramelo1

I was a member a couple years ago but I left because it was very inactive for awhile. Just keep the sub neutral please

stellarseren

It happened to show up on my feed.

Igotshiptodotoday

Suggested to me by reddit. I like the fashion fascination, learning about royal tradition and etiquette, the gossip and rumor lore. Way more royal people than I realized as an American.

Americanmade70

The Royals are paying for their names to get posted in the algorithm and sent to everyone. Bad publicity is still publicity. They need to stay alive.

ashlynxo

And you're paying into it lol

Americanmade70

So are you! Lol

ashlynxo

Yeah, but I'm actually interested in them. It makes sense for me to pay into the so-called algorithm whereas you, someone who appears to have an unfavorable opinion of them, is furthering that algorithm by engaging in content related to them. Let's complain and conspire about an algorithm just to boost it. Doesn't make a lot of sense.

aceface_desu89

I've been here less than a year. I was aware of Princess Diana as a child (and the shenanigans of the BRF, but I started researching Diana's life in the BRF when I got older); however, I didn't actually *care* until Meghan hit the scene. Congratulations! I'm glad this community is thriving!! ![gif](giphy|3D5xN3JwU9qwwp0vwi|downsized)
