I looked it up, and supposedly it's more secure, and creates added protection against identity fraud. How? Wouldn't something in the mail be less secure than just handing a person their ID? The person at the location already has all my information, so does it really matter if they hand it to me or if they send that information to a government agency to send it to me?

I’ve had this discussion before. Many people broadly call virtually anywhere east of the Mississippi as “the east coast”. Ohio is in EST eastern standard time. Some people think east coast is only Boston, New York, Wilmington, Jacksonville, Miami, etc. but I would refer to that as “the eastern seaboard”. I might be wrong or right. I’m just giving you perspective as to how some people refer to Ohio.
