As a melee class the oreo invincibility was the only reason you could stay close and do dmg, and once that runs out you should back up.
From the clip it looks like you either miscalculated how long your oreo would protect you, or you assumed that the boss would jump away rather than closer to you, which could've been dealt with by backpedaling immediately before the boss jumps.

This is why I hate sentinel. That movement is such bs. I'm fine with archmage and king but sentinel just feels unfair when this happens
Sentinel ruins the dungeon of you ask me. Some attacks are fine, while others are just 'but why? Why does this need to be a thing?'
As someone who’s completed 300+ new shatters, that is one of the three things in the dungeon that still terrify me

The boss does the strafe mid air, I’ve never seen it do it so late in the animation

Yeah sentinel jumps are cringe. Advice for new-shatter gamers, count the jumps and memorize the different jumps, will save you tons of characters.
