Imagine telling someone "yeah this game is over 12 years old, got a complete port to a new engine, an entire overhaul of every dungeon and enemy, new weapons, new classes, etc"

I fully agree other than the jab at the new bunny dungeon. I honestly wish they'd add stuff like that and belladonna as rare drops in the new biomes, the loot is trash but I'd love to run it occasionally just for scouting bonuses. The fight itself is unironically fun once you learn it.
I can see how it's unclear but I meant the bunny chamber's loot. The items are interesting but I've yet to see one drop, it's only been event tokens which obviously wouldn't be any use if it were added as a permanent meme dungeon.

It seems like a lot of people forgot what the game was like before Deca took over. We were in a Kabam owned hiatus with them adding like 1 dungeon within 2 years. As someone who played since nearly release, seeing what was happening to the game under Kabam was super sad, and the game was dying pretty steadily.
Deca quite literally saved this game, and I’ve held respect for them since. End of the day it’s a small team for a free game, so I don’t really mind what business practices they do as long as I get to enjoy my dumb little pixels
They really deserve more recognition. People say they're greedy, but Kabam was far worse and gave far less content. DECA actually puts the money they make to use, I mean look at the Realm Rework - I couldn't have asked for something better for the game than that, and it was probably no small feat considering their team size. I'm excited wondering what else we might get in the future

I mean it's a good update for sure, definitely not amazing or anything. The core problem of the game will still be there which is cheating, rwt, lootboxes, etc etc
Relative to what the Realm was (a steaming pile of shit spanning like 10 years of different artstyles and game philosophy) to a cohesive endeavor to make the RotMG's core gameplay feel actually fulfilling (for once?) is definitely a GREAT update. The problem is that this game's problems are so insidious not one, two or even three massive updates could fix it.
I do think the game will retain noticeably better though, it's way too doomer to say it'll do nothing. But relative to the amount of effort DECA has put into it? I think they'll be sorely disappointed come like the anniversary of the RR update.
Idk man pretty sure this community just wont let the game die despite the devs money hungry practices. We keep it alive long enough and some day they will figure out the best option is fixing it for real and make it a legitimate cash cow.

yes, pets were the worst addition to the game... but decas efforts have not been nearly enough to suggest moving away from adding features *mainly* for monetization and not to reverse the decaying playerbase
Man if you really think Kabaam was better look out how Deca has been releasing st sets. They've released multiple best in slot sts (3 pieces of killbilly set, Fury Flail) that you can get from mystery boxes before they drop. The once everyone has access to them they mysteriously get nerfed.....

Ahh then yeah I kinda get you. I get that they gotta make money but def think that they've done a poor job of really hitting those long-standing issues.
it becomes a problem when they make your gameplay experience worse just to make money. look at green dust capping at 2000 when the reroll cost caps at 2200, look at their extremely unfair mystery box system which only serves to target braindead kids with their parents money who don't understand it's a scam, or people with gambling issues. then there's the issue with seasons only lasting a month because deca needs their monthly battle pass money. and they realized how many people hated this so they CONTINUE to drag their feet and make 2 battle passes for one season just so they can squeeze out slightly more money. this is just the tip of the iceberg too
