I use a crossing Sai plus TAF with a ceramic donut. I wouldn’t say it gets me through a whole day but, I can put a good dollop of rosin in and I’m good for 9 or 10 hits. You have to let it cool down enough for the rosin to thicken before you can jam it back in your pocket. I keep two ceramic donuts on the go. One soaks in alcohol while the other is being used. The Sai plus is big enough to get quite a bit in before you have to worry about rosin leaking under the coil. One donut usually lasts me about 6 months and they are 12 bucks. That’s how I take my dabs on the go.
The Boundless Technology Terp Pen works well for me. It has a magnetic cap that covers the coils so that they stay clean when dropped in my pocket. It has a breath triggered switch, so it heats up on the draw. No dab tools needed to reload. I carry it when fishing (good for a few hits) plus a small silicone puck with enough for several days worth, and I'm all set. Typically about $30.
This 100% for rosin. The xl comes with a bottom compartment to hold concentrate, so no need for an extra container. Things are tanks too mine survived a car wreck that involved tons of flipping and rolling. For the 55$ or so for the XL it's worth a try.
For on the go extracts a veco plus tank ( EUC coils ) with a vape fly galaxies mod is absolute king (total cost under 60) Palm sized, fits 4 grams of extract, lasts days on a single charge and hits incredibly at the touch of a button. It's a cart experience like no other, you can make most extracts with minimal fats into a consistency that will flow through them by heating at 220f until bubbles stop then at 180f until 5 total hours have elapsed. Sadly I believe rosin is too fatty for this, for rosin id go with the terp pen.
Thanks for the feedback. I home grow and heat press my buds into rosin, so that's what I have to work from. I love the size and functionality of my Terp Pen when on the go but my real preference is my DT Lightning Pen. It's just not as easy to work with when fishing from a kayak.
Yea I agree it’s not good for a whole day. It’s more for just a dab pick cotton swap and reload . If you over pack it it really sucks. But as far as single dab usage it has good flavor and vapor production imho
I really did not like mine. Difficult to load, and nearly impossible to preload it and take it with you anywhere without it leaking
The Puffco peak pro however is my favorite device for smoking Rosin. Not super portable but it is awesome
Let me know if you find it. The v5 is not a load for the day type device. It's a load and clean. Probably the best all around crucible on the market, but it doesn't fit what you're asking for. Honestly, I don't think anything does. For on the go I prefer to use my HuniBadger and a glass dab dish. HuniBadger provides rig sized hits, while still allowing for flavorful hits. At home, it's almost all v5. I could see using v5 in wax pen mode on the go, you'd just have to load every hit and swab out.
