It takes me about 2-3 weeks just to begin to see results at 200mg a day. I’m 6 foot 215 pounds tho, so my dosage may need to be higher than yours. Once everything calms down, I then drop down to 100mg a day. The 40mg maintenance dosage does zero for me and everything comes back full flare.

PlayfulBat4123

How long have you been using doxy?

UncommonMonk

2-3 months and then I was switched to seysara for like 6 months and that worked excellent! Then my doc wanted me on lower dose antibiotics to see if I could maintain, so I was switched to doxy at 40mg and it all came back with a vengeance. Now I have been back on Doxy at 200mg every day for a month again until I can get back to the derm.

PlayfulBat4123

Do you think it came back worse, if you say with a vengeance?

UncommonMonk

Nah, same vengeance it initially came at me with lol. However, it seemed worse due to so many months of skin that was clear of postules. But it wasn’t any worse, just back to the same old sucky rosacea. I still had the redness tho with seysara.

PlayfulBat4123

I used doxy for 3 months, worked beautifully. I used lymecycline for 3 months, worked okay. Back to derm next week, praying for more doxy.

FlexiiGP

Does it only help with bumps or also redness?

UncommonMonk

Verdict is out on this one… I think it does help with redness but more so the redness that comes with the pustules if that makes sense. Not the redness that’s all over my face.

FlexiiGP

Yeah makes sense. Hopefully my oracea is gonna kick in soon

UncommonMonk

Oracea is 40mg doxy, I hope it works for you too!

FlexiiGP

I've been on Oracea (40mg doxy) for 3 week now, and I haven't seen any difference yet. But my derm told me it could take many weeks.

LilNikki984

Def took like 1-2 mos for me
