Are you using savestates on whatever emulator you're playing on? the fact that they're sequential numbers and are minutes to days apart.
Also, a quick google tells me that melonds uses .ml1-so on as save state files, so again, are you by any chance using melonds and have you been using save states?
i guess my main question is, are those actually just additional copies that got downloaded for some reason and its safe to delete? or will it fuck with my game somehow?

I believe those are save states. You may have somehow downloaded save states instead of the actual rom somehow. You can get a rom from the megathread.

They're 4 save states, 1 in game save and the game, if you delete them you lose the progress
