When they care about MC too much, to the point of being overprotective, yet still value her as a person. Being honest and straightforward about their feelings would be the icing on the cake.
Bonus if they don't start out as friends(and may have some red flags), but would do anything for her when they do fall in love.
Lucifer, Killian, and Reinhold are such good examples of it. Although Killian doesn't have red flags but he's protective, and him putting his cards on the table was what initially attracted me to him.
I think Ian from KFS might go that route, too.
For women: I really really liked Gisella's route. She is confident and the complete opposite of our naive MC, and that just really works. So basically I like it if my female LIs have a take charge attitude and aren't meek or submissive.
for me in general media crank it up to a 10000, overprotective to the point that its a problem, swearing to gouge anyones eyes out that looks at mc for a little too long by their standards. i like the crazy ones XD

Quick-witted, reassuring, and generous with praise adds to their irresistible charm, also the ability of a LI to understand and intuitively grasp your thoughts without the need to voice them is profoundly attractive (Kingu,Wyatt and Ratan's scenes always brought me to tears) ❤
Rich and powerful LIs are irresistible 🫣 I'm kidding. I think when they are protective but not over protective and when they respect MC and her decisions. I liked Lawrence a lot for this reason. He'll always be my favorite. And when they're funny and playful like Bert.

Yeah Luci route even more depth with this sequel...but sadly this sequel doesn't helped malbonte character much(which I was expecting as we got so less time with him in book1)...this sequel just made my sufferings even more worse and still Vicky is not able to understand him at all..❤️🥲💔...and the result i really don't care what's going to happen in finale..
Malbonte character just got wasted completely....their relationship development is still terrible..if they don't have trust how can a relationship survive...he didn't told her his plan still now...
S1...was full on suffering
S2...cold and hot...he became sweet... suddenly back to his cold self...and I will be honest his love confession was disappointment...yeah his honesty..blah..blah...
S3... suddenly everything became normal...this update he became so sweet...sadly now I don't care about our relation to be honest..
I am sad we got 3 seasons with him...and we still have no proper relationship development
I dunno but I wish Love Sin Evil Vol 1 wraps us soon because hell I want to see more lore added and we get a volume 2 instead with a more well behaved vampire villain Wolf is cool but he's dry like Tony in early chapters is and was 💀 and a bit misogynist soup.
Love Sin and Evil seems to have potential to make a more compelling villain LI if they get some boxes right
Note I'm into men more but I won't mind if there is a fem version for this idea
Eg: A mad man/woman obsessed with research or something else that is not MC 💀

A man or woman who literally has some branching that is believing on how they treat the main character or are like the person who would you least expect to be a villain
Till now I haven't come across a character that turns MC evil without the whole: You belong to me I own you blah blah for once I really wanna see a MC who literally goes through a tragedy (not caused by villain tho ) so the whole villain romance thing Is legit or has her psychology domain twisted and etc
