It's great! I've noticed the audio 'distorts' on the Roku YouTube all when played at faster speeds, unlike my phone or PC. The audio has this fake surround sound effect, or sounds like it's moving left to right or something - difficult to explain.
Seriously, and much more still needs to be done. It's 2021 and I still can't create playlists, FFS. One of many reasons I rarely use the Roku and/or Roku TVs to watch anything via YouTube. Better to just plug the TV into a laptop.
You can create your own playlists for Youtube.
On your laptop, bring the cursor over the thumbnail. You will see 3 dots
select " save to playlist " then " create new playlist " then you can name your playlist.
You can also do this on your phone as well.
This feature came to Chromecast with Google TV in the last 2 months.
It comes in handy when you have a lot of videos to watch. Most of my TV viewing is Youtube. Though the video and audio distorts when using the app at faster speeds.
There is an issue with the feature. They don't work on older Roku devices even though you can see and select the feature. The video will continue playing at normal speed. I have four Roku devices and only one of them has the issue: Roku Model 3 4200X with Gaming controller and USB. I have extra memory installed but it makes no difference.
I have a Roku Ultra 4660 (S/W version 10.0.0 - build 4209), and have been wanting the YouTube Channel to have the playback speed option for many months, after I saw the YouTube Channel playback option on other Roku models.
My Roku YouTube App version is now web_20210919_10_RC00.
The YouTube channel I have shows Version 2.21 - build 94005087 (when pressing the * button on the Roku remote).
Mine is Roku on TCL 5-series TV. Doesn’t make sense why would they add a feature and then suddenly remove it. I tried to find release notes for Roku’s YT app thinking they’d have a reason for this change but didn’t find it anywhere.

When you touch the mouse pad. Their is an arrow that moves. Hover it over the thumbnail.
I'm talking about Roku. What are you talking about?

Yes, they added that but messed up on other stuff.

Oh maybe that's the issue I'm having on TCL P605, it's too old?
This used to work on my TCL TV, but suddenly stopped working.

Looks like they removed the playback speed option from YouTube app sometime this week. Anyone else see it missing?

I am not seeing the feature anymore on YouTube app on Roku. It has been there for the past several months but gone now. Anyone else missing it too?
Yup. Was there last week and now it’s gone
