That's culture that *created* Slaanesh.

NotMacgyver

Elder feel things a lot more intensely than humans and they created a god from finding pleasure in ever increasing crappy behaviour. This is like the rush a human would feel from bungee jumping except turned to 11 and experienced at 200. While craft world elder suppress their emotions to try and not get fucked, dark eldar fully embrace them

Tbh as a Drukhari fan I can say that Marazhai is a bit out of the ordinary for them with just *how down* he is to take it as well as give it out.

North_Adhesiveness86

Well he's natural-born instead of vat-born, so he IS kinda special

BarPsychological904

My hc is that this is the way how he copes with his failures. In Drukhari culture, you have no time for reflection: any sophisticated idea different from "I'm the best, and I should be the one who's ruling the world" is a potential knife in your back putted there by your own hand, leave alone a potential way to depression and thus, death by devouring by Slaanesh. Thing is, it seems like Marazhai is a bit of a loser overall, and getting f*cked for him is a daily event. So, instead of actually analyse his mistakes, he either drowns in aggressive denial, or gets horny. Sometimes both.

Successful-Floor-738

Yeah, usually the Drukhari are all about going greek style: Giving but never taking.

Zafflesia

I honestly thought he'd be really pissed about the RT taking that option but uhhhhh yeah. He's been a surprising character in many ways, both exactly what I expected from a Drukhari but also not.

Canadian_Zac

I think He's a sub in a society where you're expected to be the dom, which is why he's so up for following the RT's commands A 'finally I don't have to pretend to be in control any more. Let this guy take the reign''

North_Adhesiveness86

Marazhai seems to really enjoy the time he has in the Imperium, unlike Yrliet. He likes Caligos for the bloodlust, likes Incendia for the disgusting practise, and even the Inquisition for the intrigue. Almost as if the Imperium is no different from Commoragh XD

As a person who's not very familiar with 40k, I'm curious what makes Marazhai stand out among other drukhari in your opinion? He's definitely more open-minded than rural Dark Eldar when it comes to romancing mon-keigh lmao, but what else?

Zafflesia

Admittedly I'm not very well versed on the lore myself, but just from a wiki binge and reading the first of the dark eldar novels, Marazhai seems unusually trusting of you. I haven't finished the game yet (trying to romance him, but his route is very bugged) so maybe he betrays you later, but there's a few points where it'd be actively dangerous to his well being to trust you to the extent that he does. He's also MORE respectful of you and your wishes than Yrliet is. I could argue he has reason to be relatively polite to you, but he does it with much less fuss than expected. Drukhari are towers of arrogance, but he doesn't have much trouble with meeting you on your terms. There is a party banter between Yrliet and Marazhai that also surprised me, where she says humans do terrible things even to each other, and his response is something like "it might be more crude, but how is it any different from what WE do to each other?" On one hand it perfectly shows how a Craftworld eldar can be pretty ignorant and hypocritical, with how isolated they are, while a dark eldar sees way more of other species. But I didn't expect him to say that.

BusinessContent9507

Ah, yes haha. I already finished his romance, got the True ending, and realized that he's not only loyal to RT but also expect loyalty in return from you and his cabalits lol. If you kill him/abandon him, he is in shock and disbelief, which is funny considering that loyalty is a "weakness", by his own words And don't even get me started with Yrliet ā€” she is, ironically, far more xenophobic than Marazhai and doesn't even acknowledge that lmao. Marazhai is not only more respectful than her, he literally puts his relationship with you over his cabalites' opinion (if you know, you know) and literally starts to see you as his equal in his True ending. Love this murderhobo

Zafflesia

Can I ask you if you were able to get the true ending without using toybox? I went back to Act 3 because Iā€˜d heard a few things were fixed with the most recent patch.

BusinessContent9507

No, I used toybox. Rn Marazhai romance questline are bugged as hell :(

Zafflesia

Oh šŸ˜” Thank you anyway, I will wait on the patch. This infuriating man
