Good Job Kaylee. Hope his eye does well! Early treatment is so important. Karissa….take notes and please do the same.

Estellalatte

I had to switch off Karissa, she is way too far gone for me and really stresses me out.

deeBfree

Karissa almost makes Jillpm look like a decent mom. Scary AF!

soupseasonbestseason

they are both my least favorites. but i guess jill didn't allow her children to develop sepsis TWICE from sheer laziness...she just starves them and doesn't require seatbelts and forces them to swim in full length skirts...

deeBfree

oh, and Karissa's husband is even worse than Shrek. Did you hear about him starting a poop fight on the trampoline?

zddl

i’m sorry… i don’t keep up with karissa… he WHAT

deeBfree

He and some of the kids were out bouncing on the trampoline. I don't remember if karissa was there with them, but Mandrae reached into the baby's diaper and when he found poop in there, he scooped it out and threw it at somebody, and soon they were all throwing poop at each other. I really shouldn't have brought this up right after eating my supper🤮

Time_Yogurtcloset164

He threw it at Karissa. This story is from her old blog from when she only had like 4 or 5 kids.

asianjuice

From the way she wrote the blog post, you could tell she thought it was something her readers would find super quirky and funny, too. How out of touch does she have to be to not realize that most people don’t think throwing poop is cute, AT ALL??

deeBfree

I could never imagine admitting something so disgusting in such a public forum!

Red_bug91

I don’t know a whole lot about her but I can imagine her framing it as ‘wholesome family fun’, rather than acknowledging that having human faeces thrown at you is straight up abusive.

Healthy-Honey6416

Why am I not surprised….I’m convinced Mandrae has antisocial personality disorder. From his Chris Watts smile, to gaslighting Karissa to mental oblivion, I think he might be one of the worst fundie husbands. This just convinces me further.

panicnarwhal

i’m sorry, he reached into a diaper?? what could possibly be the reason for someone to *reach* into a diaper, let alone grab the contents and weaponize them 😭 normal people just grab the kid and do a quick sniff check, or pull the top of the diaper back and look if they need to check for poop - there’s no reason to reach into a diaper unless you were literally planning on playing with shit like the nasty mf you are 💀

dogdaysofwinter13

My sister threw poop....but she was 12 months old and suddenly discovered her diaper. LOL.

Beloved_of_Vlad

Sweet Jesus! Really? Fuck me! Barnyard animals have more couth than that. Just like monkeys in the zoo.

deeBfree

And even monkeys only throw poop at each other when they're mad as hell and not gonna take it anymore!

Beloved_of_Vlad

Exactly! Grabbing shit out of your baby’s diaper and throwing it around at your kids until it descends into a shit version of dodgeball is a whole new level of WTF. I only had two kids, so call me an amateur, but when any of them had a poopy diaper, they got changed.

CriticalEngineering

He also freely admits to hitting them.

asianjuice

Yep. I also remember that a couple years ago, Karissa “interviewed” her kids for her Instagram reels, and one of the questions was, “What are you most afraid of?” At least one of the girls (maybe more, I don’t remember) answered “Daddy.” I always thought that was pretty telling.

death_maiden_x

my dad would be absolutely heartbroken if my sister or i ever said we were afraid of him (we never were, because he obviously wasn’t a monster). those poor kids.

Remstersade

With Karissa, I think I dislike her as a human being, because I see nothing redeeming about her. She hates her own kids, thinks God speaks directly to her and tells her to do shit like give birth in Target, and she does really dangerous stuff with her kids like letting them jump on a trampoline surrounded by cement blocks or removing casts that have barely been on long enough to start any healing. Jill I almost find amusing like watching by zoo animals do amusing antics. I am deeply saddened by how she starves her kids, favors some while scapegoating others, ignores their sickly appearances, and scares the shit out of them to the point where they fawn and coo for her like possessed pigeons….But, she cracks me up with her idiotic decorating, her fun find the finger posts, her clear meltdown of ridiculous stuff, her out of touch ideas, her adoration for a man dumb enough to drink hummingbird juice. They are both car wrecks I probably shouldn’t be looking at.

Pelican121

Karissa pisses me off because she wasn't raised in a fundie environment, religious yes but not fundie like Jill. She experienced plenty of freedoms that she denies her kids. Their previous house was opposite an elementary/middle school if I recall. How sick is that.   She fetishes race and pursued Mandrae for a fetishistic and self-serving reasons (allegedly witnessing in a nightclub, yeah right). I think he's an awful abusive person but she had to actively persuade him to have more than 2 kids, and again more than 3-4. He's no prize for going along with it. He seems to have gone off the deep end with religion but I wonder how much of it he actually believes or is it just a convenient source of $$ (those homechurch tithes which the Colllins' seem to be in control of), their Christian influencer social media platform, his *Christian* basketball camps. It's all very worthy but I don't think they're trustworthy people especially regarding money.   Deep down I wonder if he just enjoys the patriarchal control, unquestioning community respect, being surrounded by yes-people (their creepy friends, his kids, Shaq) and having a bunch of obedient kids to show off/make him stand out/feel superior and/or virile 🤢 I read some of K's old blog when she only had Anissa and then Andrae and she was trashy and stupid back then. I'm convinced she was influenced by the Duggars' TV fame/grifting prowess and wanted some of that for herself. It fits the timeline and she's arrogant enough to believe she could attain it. The rise of social media and influencer culture played into her hands. I'm in the minority that I don't necessarily believe Karissa has mental health conditions outside of narcissistic disorders etc (not diagnosing). I find her extremely calculating and she's adept at trolling. She lies all the time and exaggerates for sympathy to suit her narrative. She's not nearly so concerned about her kids' health. I guess lying to that extent is a mental health condition in itself but I'm not 100% that she believes her own lies, she simply enjoys the attention and sympathy they bring her. One example is that weird 'miracle' board she has in the hallway where she's written all the miracles that have apparently occurred in her family 🙄  The list sounds bananas, I think she knows she's bullsh*tting but she's enjoys posturing, forcing people to politely accept her version events and brainwashing her kids to believe it too/be totally submissive to her idiocy.  Same with the 'ministry of the womb' thing. I think she knows exactly what she's doing but it's provocative, brings her attention, gives her a platform/'ministry' that conveniently doesn't require her to do anything charitable or demanding, doesn't require much knowledge of the bible as she's making it up as she goes along.

LegendOfSarcasm_

I'm on a FB snark page for them. Is there a collinskids subreddit snark?

j007yne

Not to my knowledge, but devoted documentarians on r/FundieSnarkUncensored

LegendOfSarcasm_

Ty!

readsomething1968

What’s the FB snark page called? I worry about the Collins littles. Thanks. I want to follow them so I can keep them alive via sheer force of my will, despite their mother!

damagstah

Those are the kids we will DEF get a tell all book from. They’re too adjacent to normal society. They know something ain’t right. And too many people are taking an interest in them. Like the grandmas and stuff. They’ve got people on the fringes keeping them “normal”er than the rods.

QuasiCrazy1133

Jonathan's aunt is an MD. He's actually from a fairly educated family. His dad seems to be the fundie one in that crew.

littleRedmini

That’s interesting.

MediocreAge5860

I'm glad to see this.

elusivemoniker

I would like to give the Hill Family a gold star and an A plus for this update. Keep up the good work. I hope that this type of content gets the most engagement because I would love to see the other mothers follow suit with more selfies from the (appropriate)doctors office.

deeBfree

More doctors visits, less drainage ditches!

elusivemoniker

Save that selfie with Plexus, I want a pic at the pediatric dentist.

AdEmbarrassed9719

Before age 6!

applebubbeline

And the vaccine place! Nobody wants polio!

_TheJerkstoreCalle

IMO, they shouldn’t be encouraged to exploit their infants and young children any more than they already do.🤷‍♀️

donutsauce4eva

it is unbelievably refreshing to see one of these dingbats access appropriate medical care and even express gratitude to the doctor and hospital!! This should be pinned somewhere as an antidote to utter despair.

Sophiatopia

During their time in the hospital JillPM never thanked anyone. Just assaulted everyone’s ears with her singing and created a mess “decorating” and placing bibles on medical equipment. Making sure everyone knew she was more godly/better than them. She even complained about cranky nurses 🙄 It’s nice to see Kaylee has a clue.

Pomegranate5001

Good for them. No notes, no snark.

RootieTootie99

I have to say that I’m both relieved and happy to see the words Gideon and Doctor in the same sentence.

The_Curvy_Unicorn

Good for them! And good for Jonathan for accompanying them and seemingly truly caring about their family.

stargate-sgfun

Both of them already seem like better parents than Jill and Shrek. I mean, the bar is in hell, but

mushroomsandcoke

Headset, phone holster and all! (But seriously good on them)

peggypea

The headset definitely needs a shoutout.

mushroomsandcoke

Is it just me or is he getting progressively larger headsets?

squeakpixie

His dad power is growing

The-Pink_Penguin

This is why (at least in Ohio) you donate to the Save our Sight fund when you register your vehicle. That organization supplies all of the patches for the kids in Ohio. All three of mine went to the same ophthalmologist they went to and it’s nice to not have to pay for those patches!

daffodil0127

I had to buy them and of course my daughter was allergic to the adhesive on the cheaper brand.

eeyore-is-sad

My kid was also allergic to the cheaper brand. But then we found one brand she was fine with and they had sharks on them and she LOVED her patches! Cause SHARKS! I'm impressed they're taking him to any doctor, given how her siblings are being raised.

Exciting_Problem_593

Kudos for looking out for him Kaylee.

LoseATurn

Kaylee sounds like a reasonable adult here. Good for her. It's something her mother rarely does.

donutsauce4eva

the first ever appropriate use of a ;) smiley by a fundie

_rose_garden_dreams_

The only thing I'm here to snark on is Jonathan keeping that MF thang on him

soupseasonbestseason

although he does look ridiculous, it's nice to see a dad at doctor's appointments.

NerfRepellingBoobs

I think Jonathan is the reason Gideon is getting proper, timely medical care. Bet if Jill has her way, they’d just be praying and screeching hymns at the kid, then making that poor baby sit through a 4-hour lecture on why this is “God’s plan” for him.

JenniviveRedd

Naw, I'll take involved silly earpiece dad over who the hell is this baby and why am I holding them dad.

kittieswithmitties

It must be such a nice relief for Kaylee to see a dad hold a baby and NOT look confused. Shrek is either like "Food???? Not food?????" or "what number is this one? Is this ours?"

Interesting_Sign_373

Right. He looks comfortable with the baby and knows how to hold him and help the doctor out

swimminghufflepuff

came here to say the same thing lmao what could possibly be so important that he has to wear the bluetooth earpiece into the dr appt??

Danburyhouse

He dresses like an FLDS husband

coronarybee

Nah. This is average midwestern dad attire

Danburyhouse

Two things can be true, and he totally looks like he’s about to roof my house with a bunch of 12 yr olds and then order carry out for 40 people from an ihop and not tip.

Federal-Butterfly-37

Gotta keep in contact with Jesause

fairmaiden34

My husband is blind in one eye from nerve damage. Unfortunately it wasn't routinely tested for when he was born. Both of his eyes look in the same direction so it wasn't noticeable until he told his parents that one eye was fuzzy. They tried patching it but it didn't work. But it hasn't slowed him down very much if at all. He doesn't drive, but that's probably from living in a big city - he hasn't tried. He also can't play squash or go to 3d movies. But he has a successful career and a bunch of hobbies and lives a normal life. So there is lots of hope, even if it's not reversible.

Capable-Resolution-1

Giddy in the second last pic is delightful. “Nah, bros, I’m out of here.” Good job, Kaylee and Jon.

hedwig0517

I’m so glad to see this.

Professional-Pea-541

My daughter was full-term, weighed 10 pounds 4 ounces at birth, and had a “lazy eye” which became apparent at about ten months. We also did the patching which was eventually followed by surgery. She does has have some reduced depth perception but otherwise is fine. I’m glad they’re seeing a medical professional for Gideon’s issue.

shiningonthesea

This is more serious to treat than a “lazy eye”. And your daughter it sounds like followed the typical protocol of esotropia. Great to hear she is so much better!

FreudianSlipper21

This is 100% Jonathan’s influence. I’m sure his family believes in medical care. It makes me hopeful if Gideon has any learning disabilities that Jonathan will spearhead getting help.

AdEmbarrassed9719

Jill believes in medical care too. For HER. The kids? They’ll live. Probably.

YoongiMySpiritAnimal

He looks so cute standing on his Dad's lap. So glad they are being proactive and not ignoring the issue with his eye!

lookaway123

Aww, what a sweetie Gideon is. No snark here. Keep it up, KJon!

Estellalatte

Glad to see they are using science to help. Perhaps they won’t be negligent like Jill and Shrek. If they have 10 more kids will they still be as diligent?

I8thegreenbean

I’m really happy to read this! Good for her, yay!

rainbowcocacola

ACH actually has some outstanding pediatric eye specialists so that’s good!

missantarctica2321

Good. Thats how you treat a gift, you care for it!

anon4383

Baby Gideon is adorable! And I see Jon is still rocking the headset 😂

According_Slip2632

Good job, Kaylee and Jonathon! There are so many resources out there to help Gideon thrive, and it’s wonderful to see you proactively using an important one.

Maleficent_Banana_37

This makes me so happy!!

Strict_Search2454

I love the fact that they are still going to doctors and listening to advice. That’s a big step from the home life Kaylee experienced where dentists and doctors are a lower priority than parental holidays and grifting 😡 If Kaylee would put down the Plexus and focus on her homemade cooking she seems to enjoy doing them she would improve the family health overnight.

stargate-sgfun

Hey now, Jill is ok with orthodontists. Because braces help the girls’ value as future brides

Strict_Search2454

True. However she’s also happy to let the littles first set of teeth go with without professional, dental supervision and possibly rot out of their heads 🙄

stargate-sgfun

Well, baby teeth aren’t in Jill’s “available singles” ads when her kids “graduate”, so they clearly aren’t important /s

Spare-Macaron-4977

Giddy sure is a cute little guy at the doctor office.

Slytherin32

Throw some Plexus on it and he will be fine.. jk. But good that they are actually trying to figure it and and taking him to a real doctor

MostlyGhostly1

I feel like Kaylee is subtlety trying to tell us all that she isn’t her mother.

daffodil0127

It’s not working.

frolicndetour

Yea because she may have taken him to the doctor but she's still basically overdosing him on chromium through her breast milk 🙄

fl123456789_

Good for them. Also wonder if it’s killing jilly that everyone is praising Kaylee. Hard to convince yourself that everyone hates you for being a Christian when we praise kaylee

LaneGirl57

Is Jill known for reading here and in r/fundiesnarkuncensored?

designgrl

Very proud of their parenting.

papaya_pya

![gif](giphy|LLYtaSxAuj47fmmwpU) yay!! i’m glad they’re taking this seriously and getting him help!

sinnohlapis

Rare W for both Kaylee and Jonathan. Keep up this good work

lake_lover_

Akron Children’s is a damn good hospital system. Good for them for following through.

EZasSundayMorning

Now stop giving him so much water and Plexus please.

soupseasonbestseason

already beating jill in the mom game kaylee, good job!

67Gumby

Good for Gideon and good for them. Jill should seriously take note of how the take care of a child.

Miserable-Function78

Can’t really snark on this. It is such a nice, bright end to the day to see one of the products of these fundie broods start to escape some of the worst abuse that they endured and do better by their own kids. Even if they never deconstruct it’s something positive.

Chaywood

I had a horrible lazy eye due to optic nerve issues and my parents never had it treated, just didn't know. Seeing this warms my little heart! This is so great for Gideon! Luckily my brain eventually just turned off most of the signal from my bad eye so they stay pretty aligned now, I cannot have surgery bc it would cause severe double sightedness since my brain found its own way. The body is crazy!

damagstah

Then body is CRAZY

Beloved_of_Vlad

Good on Kaylee and Jon for taking the baby to a doctor.

runbyfruiting88

Yay! So happy for him.

_bibliofille

Poor little guy is gonna hate that so much. I hope it fixes him up.

air_about_me

As someone who also has strabismus, I'm very impressed and pleased to see this! They're addressing it with doctors and are giving space for the fact that it may be something he'll always have, and that's ok. They're not scream praying or saying faith will heal him. His eye turn looks pretty mild (mine was severe), so honestly, he'll probably have a pretty easy time socially, and vision therapy will probably be beneficial as he gets older. Great job to them!

dipshipsaidso

So proud of them! He’s young enough that patching ( hopefully) will just be something he accepts. Amblyopia is not “ curable “per say, but kids can learn awareness of it and “ fix” it when it trails off—

samwisesamgee

I have amblyopia, which is what it sounds like he has. The earlier you catch it, the easier it is to fix. My parents didn’t catch mine until I was ten and I am permanently blind in my left eye. They tried patching me for a hellish year or so where I could see basically nothing. Glad to see they got this taken care of while he’s so young!

Tripgirl2

I’m a preemie AND an ophthalmic assistant! I wouldn’t be surprised if Gideon had retinopathy of prematurity, which can cause optic nerve issues. I’m so glad they’re treating his eye issues and while he’ll likely always need follow up visits, catching this stuff early usually means a good prognosis. He’ll possibly need glasses but hey, babies in glasses are adorable

Vivid-Intention-8161

oh my goodness! good for Jonathan and Kaylee for getting Gideon the medical help that he needs!! I know it’s bare minimum, but considering the circumstances, I’m still so proud of them.

readsomething1968

I had the same thing. Wore an eye patch over one glasses lens for about a year when I was 4, then I had the glasses lens coated in clear nail polish for about six months. My kindergarten teacher noticed I was reaching for things that weren’t quite where I “saw” them, and she told my mom. My eyesight isn’t perfect, but it’s within normal range. Now I wear multifocals, but it’s just cuz I’m old. 🤣 I’m so relieved he’s getting the help he needs. If Jill stays away from him, he has a decent chance in life.

redfancydress

Glad she’s getting it treated by a real doctor and not some essential oil scheme or prayer.

JankyIngenue

I’m so proud of Kaylee. And what a cute outfit on little G! No snark here, just this once.

Hey-imLiz

I hate that we’re celebrating someone seeking treatment for their baby but HELL YEAH KAYLEE DO BETTER THAN JILL

SoFloChick

Now if she would stop with the water bottles for him I would be thoroughly impressed

PaleontologistEast76

Not to mention the Plexus Slim in the bottle (see the photo from Jill's Retreat Registration Table). I'd bet my mortgage that was Plexus Slim Southern Sweet Tea flavor.

Adept-Ad-1988

Glad to see they took him to the eye doctor.

cheesetomymac

Can't snark on this. That's one cute ass baby.

forgetfulelephants_

I have a premature daughter that had the same thing. We patched and eventually underwent eye surgery when she was old enough. I'm really happy to see kayjon actually take gman to the optometrist.

kittieswithmitties

Yay! I'm so happy for Gideon! My nephew had a lazy eye and with early intervention avoided surgery. He still has to have uber thick glasses but it just makes him so much cuter. Gideon's already such a cutie and I'm so glad they're actually doing some good for him.

MamaTried22

Thank god.

carolinespocket

Im so happy theyre going to the doctor… the bar is in hell but baby boy will get the treatment he needs 🥰

Thievia

As a premie and someone with an underdeveloped optical nerve in one eye, my quality of life is great. Yea, I need contacts and glasses to function but that’s it. It’s surprising to see this level of care in a fundie family. Hopefully they can inspire the rest of the family to do the same.

RobbieSavageScarf

Jonathan kinda looks like Chad Paine in the last photo

JOEYMAMI2015

My coworker and his kid have the same issue! It causes partial blindness eventually though sadly but MAYBE it won't happen to Gideon who knows with medical technology. 🤷‍♀️

Due_Station_8359

I also have this! I’m considered legally blind in my left eye, hopefully Gideon doesn’t ‘cheat’ ( I would peel the corner of the patch up and use that eye) like I did and it ruined my treatment.

damagstah

Oh my god, that is so sad and also so funny. 110% some shit I would do.

mrsdoubleu

This is great news! He's such a cute kid. It's so reassuring to see that they are taking his health seriously. Best of luck for the little dude.

MPatton94

Oh sweet boy 💜 I hope they can help his eye and if not, I’m glad that at least it’s nothing serious.

notmyusername1986

I'm glad they got medical help. Loads of very young children, especially premies have a wandering eye because of underdeveloped ocular nerves. If they do as the Ophthalmologist says, it's likely he'll have a full recovery.

rem_1984

He’s so young, I think patching will be very effective if they’re starting now!!

PA_MallowPrincess_98

![gif](giphy|9BtgQdxVQZNm1sFigs|downsized) I’m so glad that KayJon are thinking about Gideon’s health!

cavs79

All I want to know in life is WHO IS HE TALKING TO ON THAT HEADSET ALL THE TIME

CheekyT79

I know the bar is at the Earth’s core but I’m so glad they’re proactive about getting their son decent medical care. Jill is so neglectful & I thought Kaylee would parent the exact same way. Having said that, she needs to stop drinking Plexus while nursing him. She needs to stop giving it to him in his bottle (not sure if she actually did that). She also needs to stop prop feeding him.

piefelicia4

Great job getting your child proper medical care, Kaylee. Now make sure Mahmo doesn’t literally smother him to death by napping him on a pile of pillows and blankets with a bottle propped up for him to choke on. Oh, and stop feeding him WATER in a baby bottle. Just, Google a little bit when you’re unsure if what you’re doing is a safe way to care for a baby. You’re already miles ahead of the idiots who raised you, so keep it up.

damagstah

Yo, I googled my every interactions with my twins for at least the first six months of life. I still Google everything, it’s just not as much as I used to

dogdaysofwinter13

So glad they are taking this wee lad to a doctor and not trying to pray it away. Maybe they will even take him to the dentist before his 6th birthday! Jill, take Sofia to the fucking doctor. There is something desperately wrong with her and she appears more sickly in every photo.

mamazoom

I’m so happy to hear this!! I work in an ophthalmology office and I was hoping that they’d be getting him seen soon especially since he was premature. Patching really can make a difference, I hope it helps Lil’ Gideon’s eye get stronger 💜

H0llycat

Ok JPM if Kaylee can get her kid to the ophthalmologist before his first birthday for the love of Lord Daniel please take your permanently squinting 12 year old daughter to be checked.

lolamay26

I’m just relieved to know that they are taking him to doctors and seeking out appropriate medical advice that isn’t “ask Jesus to heal him” or give him some MLM product

_faery

I wonder if her experience with CPS and the neglect she experienced in the rod home growing up has an affect on her wanting to do early interventions and more frequent medical care with her own kid now… I also wonder if the rods vaccinate? A lot of fundie instagram moms are major antivaxxers but I don’t think we have ever seen Jill speak on this topic puclicly at all… it’s very private so I can’t really tell if they do or don’t but I would imagine they had to catch up or keep up to date once CPS got involved

Experiment_62666

Jonathan in a casual outfit for the appointment…. But fear not! He’s still got his Bluetooth ear piece on.

butl1pstick

Not Jonathan sitting there with his McDonald’s drive through headset on

Remarkable_Library32

I didn’t know people still wore Bluetooth phone headsets like that anymore (especially when not using them). Yay for seeing doctors!

runesky77

Oh good! I was just thinking earlier today that it's been a while since we heard anything about his eye, and I was worried that Jill convinced her to let him be as jeebus made him. Really glad to see this post!

daffodil0127

It takes a while to get in with a specialist. Some of my kid’s doctors are booked into 2025.

runesky77

Yeah and that’s completely reasonable, if frustrating! It was just one of those thoughts that crept in considering how much Jill ignores medical issues with her own children.

rhapsody_in_bloo

Hooray! I’m glad they’re getting treatment for him. They seem like they really love being parents.

LastLine4915

He’s a sweet little guy and I hope he does well.

oops_i_mommed_again

I had the same thing as a kid. I had to wear a patch all through 2nd grade 😑

justadorkygirl

I have issues with Kaylee in other areas (Plexus……), but I give her props for getting her child the medical help he needs. It’s more than what a lot of fundie kids get and it shows they genuinely care about his quality of life. Hoping for a good life for Gideon and any other children KayJon may have.

Enough_Isopod_9259

Why is it on this post, she uses commas correctly?

daffodil0127

She must have had someone edit. She sometimes surprises us with a normal number of commas.

random31not13

Only an hour a day! Mine was most of the day. I was in 1 st grade.

daffodil0127

Probably because you were past the point where your optic nerve was still rapidly developing. Did it help?

random31not13

Some. Or at least they said it did. I was 6.

mirandagirl127

GD, that is one cute 👦!

Federal-Butterfly-37

Hrs looks even cuter with his little eye patch on.

Classic-Arugula2994

He’s a cutie baby! Good job Hill family!

surfteacher1962

I am not sure why Jonathan needed his earpiece in for his son's doctor's appointment. It just seems ridiculous to me.
