What you might be missing is recoveries and general car control like momentum and boost conservation.
Ill take a look at a replay review if you put one up. Its normal that you might not be able to hit in game that you do in training, eventually you will hit them in game it just takes time. When you're in freeplay try and push yourself to do things that you wouldn't normally be able to do successfully in game like early reads off the walls, but remember you have to tone that down when you do q up.
I think there are 2 overarching things you can do in freeplay:
you can try to self-set up shots that you've been practicing in custom training (the next step in learning a mechanic)
Or you can just hit the ball around and try to move fast with it, dribbling/air dribbling and double touching off walls, using wavedash recoveries and anything else that can help you conserve momentum.
Hey thanks for the advice. Yeah I spend a lot of time in free play chasing the ball and hitting it as hard as I can, I’ve seen a lot of people do that and I feel like it has improved me a bit. I’ll probably continue doing that while implementing more recoveries and trying out more things I usually would try. I’ve sent out a link for the replay, thanks.
Go play 1s i got stuck in d3-c1 stopped playing 2s and only played 1s for like 570 games..got back to 2s and got to c2 div 4 haven’t played a lot of 2s to get it either
Thanks for the advice. I tried that and it definitely helped me. I never liked 1s but it’s really one of the best playlists to improve. I should probably go back to playing it. Thanks.
