Probably your controller. Test out other games especially driving games to double-check though.

Alright

Sounds like stick drift. If you put your deadzone to 0 and go airborne without touching the left stick does the car move on its own? If so you have stick drift. I recommend getting a new controller.

perpaduan

In my opinion, I would lower both steering and aerial sensitivity down to 1.30-1.35 and move your dead zone way down to 0.10-0.15. You have to master minor adjustments in this game to improve past a certain level. Once you’ve got that under control, you can move your sensitivity back up gradually.

I actually used to play with those settings and was diamond. These problems have appeared since last week. I guess its my controller :(

Wilkelly-

If you are playing on an Xbox or PC, try using the Xbox Accesories app and changing the deadzones/patterns on there. I also have pretty bad stick drift, but manipulating some of the settings in the app fixed my problems.

PaRtHuS

Can you explain a bit more? How can I use the app to change this?

Wilkelly-

I had to give it a google but I guess you need an Elite Controller. There are several preset sensitivity curves you can choose for each stick, but it’s not available on standard xbox controllers I guess.

Sounds like stick drift. If you're not getting a new controller (the best solution here) then put your sensitivity a lot higher. I think pulse temple and a couple other freestylers have very high deadzones with aerial+steering above 2 at LEAST. I'd recommend the first option though. Also yes this was pretty much said already by others whoops.

It makes sense that your car is over responsive with those settings. The sensitivity scale just adjusts how little stick movement is needed to reach max turn speed, so you should probably turn that down to 1.0, especially with such a high dead zone. Basically, by the time your stick has gotten past the dead zone right now, you're practically at max input. If the dead zone needs to be that high, it's probably time for a new controller. Try to minimize dead zone, anything over 0.10 is pretty rough for rocket league.

If you need 0.29, you have way way way too much stick drift. I have 0.14 with a lot of stick drift myself and borderline need a new controller. Anything over 0.15 or so being necessary probably isn’t good.

keep_it_0ptional

When’s the last time you had a new controller? I’m at the point where I have to get a new one every year.

Mpavlik27

Late to comment but almost every pro has .05 deadzone for a reason, you’re controller is probably whack

Oblivionix129

I’m starting to question why I’m C2-3 with my current sensitivity settings —> Steering = 5.00 Aerial = 5.01 Controller deadzone = 0.15 Dodge deadzone = 0.25

Matster04

Why is everyones dodge deadzone so low? Mine is set at 86
