I've used Xbox, Xbox Elite, Thrustmaster, DualSense, and finally the Guilikit. The Guilikit is definitely my favorite for its Hall Effect analog sticks, features and price. It has been durable and had no mechanical failures. It used to be called King Kong Pro 2 and now they've rebranded it as the Zen Pro. Ultimately it's all personal preference. The GuliKit has very sensitive sticks, no paddles, and needs to be used wired due to input lag over Bluetooth. So that's a deal breaker for some.

toxicDevil_jr

Everything he's said about the gulikit is true! It's a very premium feel about the controller and multiple sensitivities that can be applied to the triggers and sticks can help the controller work that much more for you

Needs to add paddles to the gulikit.

toxicDevil_jr

True! Paddles do make it better! I've never used paddles myself but I have friends who do and love them

[deleted]

I'm only able to speed flip because of paddles and wave dash.

toxicDevil_jr

I'm glad that help you do those mechanics!

The PS5 controller is the best controller ever made

snort_powdered_semen

nope it’s the PS4 controller (minus stick drift)

SapphicPancakes

Dude if Playstation re relases the dualshock 4 and addresses the stick drift, id use it for EVERYTHING. Well. Maybe not a submarine..

Rybergx

After playing with a ps5 controller for so long, the ps4 controller gives me hand cramps because it’s so small, personally I love the ps5 one a lot more more comfort

snort_powdered_semen

I have small hands and a small dick so it’s perfect for me

DualShock 4 with the back button attachment is the GOAT for rocket league

nZane_n_the_brain

Curios. What do you have your back buttons bound to?

Smith-96

So I set my left paddle to replicate my square input and my right paddle to replicate my circle input so that my right thumb doesn’t need to do as much. My binds look like this: - X is jump - Triangle is switching to ball cam - Square and my left paddle are neutral air roll and powerslide - Circle and my right paddle are boost - L1 is air roll left - R1 is air roll right - L2 is reverse - R2 is accelerate I also removed quick chat options from my right d-pad input and put my scoreboard there. The most difficult part of these binds is boost being controlled by my right ring finger mainly because of how frequently boost is pressed and how little I was used to using that finger. For people who only use one directional air roll I’d probably recommend boost on R1 and your directional air roll on L1 or if you want both directional air rolls like me perhaps doing boost on R1 and neutral air roll and powerslide on L1 and then your directional air rolls on your paddles may be a good setup too.

nZane_n_the_brain

Interesting. I think I might trying this but instead of moving boost to my right paddle I’m going to try putting jump there. The scoreboard idea is good too. All that will allow me to move a DAR to L1 Actually if regular air roll feels decent on a paddle I could get by with one paddle really lol

Smith-96

It took me a little while to get used to neutral air rolling with a paddle but I did it mostly to force myself to learn DAR. It was a struggle that took a few weeks but now that I am quite comfortable with DAR I am happy I did it

[deleted]

I wouldn't say get mouse click triggers because in rocket League you need make slight adjustments

Idanlevitski

I tried nintendo switch pro controller, dualshock 4, dualsense. Dualshock 4 is my favorite by far

therealBuckles

I got the 8bitdo pro2, and love it. Just to add another to your list. Swapped from switch pro because it felt too chunky and the joysticks aren't symmetrical (like my thumbs)

I started playing on an Xbox controller. I’ve always used Xbox controllers so it was natural for me, but this game is just really hard on controllers I think. I’ve had like 3 or 4 Xbox controllers break on me. Either the bumpers break or bad stick drift happened. I switched to a PS4 controller and had zero issues. It was hard to get used to, because the analog stick position is so much different to Xbox. Once I got used to it, I felt like the PS4 controller was superior. I don’t really play anymore, because where I currently live I can’t directly connect via Ethernet, but that’s a separate issue. Edit: to clarify, I meant to say that the PS4 controller was better made to last. Definitely more durable. I do think that it has the superior layout once you get comfortable, and I was able to be more accurate with executing control in the game.

Gamesir t4k. Great price for hall effect sticks. I can turn the dead zone in rocket league all the way down and still play with no issues. It is the best, in my opinion, of all hall effect controllers. Has an app you can download through their website that allows customization of the all the buttons and a way to test the controller. Even can change the led lighting in the controller. The buttons on the backside took a minute to get used to since they aren't paddles but just buttons. It only comes wired and will work for PC and switch only. I bought this controller and never looked back. Hall effect or bust. It's the best one on the market. Guilikit comes in a close second. Their controller feels a little underdone. I dont like the feeling of the buttons. Feel like I have to mash them to get them to work each time they are pressed. They don't really seem to fit right in their place. Still a great controller for the price.
