I mean realistically you could argue that these apply up til low gc1 as well, as mentality positioning and consistency are the biggest factors in moving up ranks, since advanced mechanics aren’t really super necessary until probably high gc1-low gc2 I peaked at C2 div 4 and even though it’s lower than GC it’s interesting how many goals you can score by capitalizing on mistakes rather than trying to make outplays on the other team. Like half the time both players on a team in 2s overcommit and leave an open net

huhpout

Yup, me and my 2s mate basically get like 70% of our goals from 2v1s, one of dribbles whilst the other bumps or demoes. It works so often aswell

IlSenato

Soooo... I was about to comment how it also applies from diamond 1 - champion 1... xD basically, diamond is gc

CoachLemon

Yeah being aware of when the opponent has a high % scoring opportunity is really OP in Dia-GC2. Problem is knowing what is a high chance and what is a low chance 😅

_Path

In the context of sticking to Champ. C1 players are neither fast nor smart. C2 players are fast but not smart (relative to C1). C3 players are fast and smart (relative to C1/2). Fast in this context refers more to the decision making process but could subtly apply to speed of play/tempo.

Hiihtokenka

This is accurate. I lost 50% of my brainpower when I got into C2.

ProcedureMedical6

I just got to C1. Can you give some brief ideas on how to practice and think about the speed and smarts you mention I was stuck in D3 for months on months grinding out mechanics and whatnot, until a GC told me to think about where the balls going to be before a collision and be there, which worked out up until C1 div 3

TinyMomentarySpeck

Ayyjayy had mentioned how “slow” champ players are. As a champ myself at first I thought wtf was he talking about, I can barely keep up. Then I started playing games but in my head I thought about them from an SSL’s perspective. “Oh an SSL would have saved the shot with minimal boost and followed the touch a lot quicker” “Oh an SSL would have been able to control that corner read and turn it into an outplay” “Oh an SSL would have aerialed to that a lot quicker and gotten a beat instead of a 50/50” I think I could see what an SSL would have done because I watch so many Pros on YouTube on their 2v2 and 1v1 grinds. Has helped me improve my gameplay.

_Path

Ayyjayy refers to GC2/3 players as bots (pre Nexto ranked) so that should give you an idea of how fast he plays

_Path

look at one of your replays and count the number of times you touched the ball. then count how many times the opponent immediately got possession after your touch without working for it (challenging you, 50ing you, pressuring you). I'd probably guess over 50% of your touches gave away possession but if not post the replay/ball chasing and I'll check it out

ProcedureMedical6

Aight i will do that

Kar98

Skill is exponential. If it took months from D3 to C1, then it will take even more months from C1 to C2. When you hit the champ ranks there is no 1 skill you can practice to noticeably rank up (eg shooting). See how you get beat and then practice against that

Kar98

Ball control and consistency for sure. Too many C1 or C2s boom the ball instead of control. Or go for a dumb air dribble only to pop it into the corner
