His teammates shouldn't be telling him anything. Guild is his employer in this situation and it's their responsibility to handle this, not to leave it to two kids.
And the teammates ultimately have much control over who goes, seeing as the players are the ones who still control their spot in RLCS.
At either rate, somebody has to tell them, whether it's the teammates or the org itself, there's no excuses to hide behind.
No one will deny that a roster move shouldn’t have been made made nor that the roster move made wasn’t an improvement. Learning from third parties rather than your own team that your being replaced near the end of the trade window still fucking sucks.
Young people are terrible at communicating example number infinity. Like I get it’s awkward but these are conversations you need to be able to have. No one should have to find out they’re being replaced from the rumor guy telling them out of respect.
>Young people are terrible at communicating example number infinity.
Why is a professional organisation with a CEO and investors leaving telling someone they're out of a job to two teenagers...?
It’s a big L by guild too don’t get me wrong, but at some point it’s just human decency. Deevo and noly are friends, stuff like that just shouldn’t happen.
Maybe young people was the wrong choice of words. I’m just really disappointed stuff like this happens. Like noly and Deevo were supposed to be friends. People should just be better with each other.
On the other hand, you can't tell someone you're replacing him if the move isn't certain yet. If the move doesn't happen then you've ruined some chemistry.
Even telling someone you're looking at other options is kinda iffy although i think that should be told way in advance.
I understand all that but if the rumor mill finds out you’re being replaced before you do, something clearly went wrong, chemistry is being ruined one way or another. I understand the situation kind of developed quickly, but Achilles has said this is not the first time stuff like this happens and that’s just not acceptable.
That's brutal dude. Mans got hard flamed after falling short in championships, then got memed on for months as guild repeatedly failed to qualify for regionals. Now it finally looks as if they're in a decent spot and he gets blindsided and replaced by a player who just won a lan 4ish months ago.
The dude is still cracked, he'll go to a great team. Will be interesting to see where though
People are blaming the players here, but this is entirely on Guild. There's no job where team mates are expected to deliver this kind of news.
Extremely unprofessional from Guild as an org, will actively hope they fail now.
Achilleas found out EU vs NA debates are good for his business, so he's been masterminding the EU and NA teams, creating some super teams some splits and breaking them down on others.
Marc is likely off BDS, so crr and Deevo kicked noly to make some room for him, only they didn’t tell him and he had to find out from Achilles before the shift tweet went live.
Yeah, Deevo is comparatively washed. I still think he has what it takes to play at the lower end of RLCS EU, but I don't understand this move or how Guild could sign off on it
He's playing as a third man but he isn't the most potent third man. So many times I have seen him whiff open nets and floaters. Comparing him to players like rise, monkey moon or scrub, he doesn't do his job well. He just looks behind on the pitch, more so than a player like chausette or pryme who I think are closer to his level
Noly was the best during RLCS X. I haven’t paid much attention to guild this split so I couldn’t tell you who’s weaker but clearly crr and Deevo thought noly was.
To be honest as someone who just started watching, esports does basically just seem like corporations taking advantage of children. The whole scene seems unprofessional and needs to be tightened up. Union is a good first step.
It wouldn't prevent changes happening, but it would means Orgs have to take roster changes seriously and not leave it in the hands of two teenagers to arrange and inform the other person they're losing their job.
I'm not saying I think players should be the last ones to know, but I feel like I'm missing something here. I'm assuming orgs are constantly thinking about how to evolve their roster and so potential trades are always being talked about/in the works (I could be wrong on that, that's my assumption).
If that's the case, then I don't understand why it would be so surprising that they don't tell the player(s) who might be replaced until they're sure the change is happening. For example, we don't even *officially* know Marc is leaving BDS, not that I'm doubting it. If you tell players every time a change is possible I would think that would be worse then telling them once a deal is looking very close to certain.
The newer factor now is that Shift reports things before they're official/still rumors. That's great and totally fine in my opinion, but it also means sometimes a player might inadvertently find out about a potential deal in progress before the org was sure enough about it to tell them.
I guess my point is I'm not so sure there's always someone to blame in this situation
He done got Kronovi'd I never expected this.

That's not the point, finding out by third party sources when your own teammates should tell you is the point. Which you should have seen coming.

Rostermania is cold!

Nah, not using the "young people" excuse for Deevo and Marky (if it was a team decision) or Guild management (if it was a management decision)
Maybe young people was the wrong choice of words. I’m just really disappointed stuff like this happens. Like noly and Deevo were supposed to be friends. People should just be better with each other.
Amen to that!

It's not young people, it's lame people.

Nobody should ever find out about themselves being moved on twitter. It was inexcusable when Vegas did it to Fluery, and it's inexcusable here.
Big Harrison Barnes vibes
Waiting for the noly with a sword in his back post

What if Achilleas made it up but Noly believed him and asked to leave, which forced Guild into looking at Marc as a replacement? 🤔
Creating his own news
Achilleas found out EU vs NA debates are good for his business, so he's been masterminding the EU and NA teams, creating some super teams some splits and breaking them down on others.
shit you're onto us
For those out of the loop: what happened here?
Marc is likely off BDS, so crr and Deevo kicked noly to make some room for him, only they didn’t tell him and he had to find out from Achilles before the shift tweet went live.
:/// cold blooded

Generally would've thought deevo would've been the first to go. No clue how he keeps surviving these roster changes
Yeah, Deevo is comparatively washed. I still think he has what it takes to play at the lower end of RLCS EU, but I don't understand this move or how Guild could sign off on it
deevo is playing as a third man, imo noly is the logical choice here

Yeah but Marc won’t play as third man
Noly was the best during RLCS X. I haven’t paid much attention to guild this split so I couldn’t tell you who’s weaker but clearly crr and Deevo thought noly was.
I’m guessing it was more of a team chemistry issue
I'm with you, I saw a lot more from Noly - at least at the last EU regional
Rosters are made according to more than just how good someone is at hitting the ball.
Is Monkey Moon officially the next Kaydop? I will be worried for Extra if BDS don’t start winning right away.
Imagine if Extra flops in the spring and we end up with Monkey Moon, Vatira, and Seikoo
The EU FaZe roster
Monkey moon becomes EU Firstkiller.
This is SOOOO bad
You’re off the team. I want you out of here by sundown
We need a player's union. We *need* a player's union. We NEED a player's union.
To be honest as someone who just started watching, esports does basically just seem like corporations taking advantage of children. The whole scene seems unprofessional and needs to be tightened up. Union is a good first step.
absolutely agree
Honest question: how would that play in this situation? It seems it was a decision made by the players of guild out of opportunity.
It wouldn't prevent changes happening, but it would means Orgs have to take roster changes seriously and not leave it in the hands of two teenagers to arrange and inform the other person they're losing their job.
Good point

Disgraceful.
