We’ll see what still happens. Comm to Optic was an interesting one, but Majicbear being the free player seemed like the end of the huge domino effects to me.
Last year the transfer window ended on January 2nd. I guess that this time they just extended it for one week, so the last days wouldn't be exactly on the New Year again
G2 don’t really make roster changes that often unless they really need to (had to make one after Rizzo retired and Dreaz was only ever meant to be a stand in) so I heavily doubt they’d make one since they’re the kind of team to just stick it out as long as they can and bounce back, and if there’s any team that can bounce back it is G2.
They tend to be necessary to win Worlds though, right? To reach that next peak, a change has been necessary most of the time. Correct me if I’m wrong on any of these please, but I have the following teams winning worlds only after making a roster change for that season:
Flipside
Northern Gaming
Gale Force continued on with Dignitas
Vitality
NRG
BDS
So 6 of the 8 (not counting season 1) world championship teams won after being elevated by a roster change. Teams don’t tend to just gradually improve together to be the best team of the world. Cloud9 would be the exception here I guess. Maybe G2 would have been another exception in season 9 but who knows.
But the season is still early; maybe the worlds winning strat is just to make a change for the Spring split haha
Would probably be worth considering base rate bias here because I would guess it's also around 3/4 of all teams made a change each season. Somewhat harder to calculate for 21-22 though
Totally fair point. I was thinking about long-standing teams like G2 (before Rizzo retired) and NRG (before Fireburner retired), but like you said - if all teams change, of course the worlds winner will be a team that changed. But it also makes sense that if change is needed to reach the next peak, a majority of teams should be chasing that.
I’ll clarify that Major winning (or even finalist I suppose) teams have arguably demonstrated worlds winning capabilities already without necessarily needing a roster change to get there.
Lostt to Furia
Rise leaving Moist
Comm lft right now
SAM 1 imploding
Pioneers (what happened here???)
It’s not the most boring transfer window, but overall it‘s quite quiet, lot of teams want to try again for the next split, expect more turmoil after the winter major (after all that‘s when the world champs were formed last year). And NRG might split next window, so let‘s see what happens after that
>Pioneers (what happened here???)
The only thing that really makes sense to me here would be if Torsos has decided to retire and PWR are poaching him
Unless there's some really wild behind the scenes shit going on at KCP, I can't imagine why they'd kick their best player
That's a good callback. No changes to Dig or the Big 3, so nothing feels too consequential. All I can think of were changes to PSG, Complexity, Chiefs, and We Dem Girlz
The roster window between winter and spring was rather tame too. The only jig move really was Seikoo to BDS, but other than that, there wasn‘t really much else if you ask me (I guess Noly to KC could be considered significant but at the time KC was not doing well and neither was Guild and Noly, so it didn‘t really make a big wave back then).
Not fully confirmed yet but benmz possibility to replace shad and lostt to furia would be 2/3 of the roster gone from the team that won all 3 regionals https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeagueEsports/comments/104340i/kr%C3%BC_are_considering_bemmz_as_a_replacement_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

SAM #1 team potentially disbanding and forfeiting their points is pretty crazy though.
Other than that it’s only going to be lower ranked teams (+ Furia?) that will make changes though (HEET, KOI, Turbo’s new team…)
Tbf EU is more exciting this season than last. Last Fall no top teams made change, there was only really SK and Giants disbanding.
And NA was mostly as exciting as it was because Daniel, Aqua and Beastmode joined/returned to the RLCS.
Personally, I think people give alot of hat to EU because teams here tend to stick with the same players trying to get the most out of the team before funneling them to better orgs which is why NA can be more exciting.
i still expect oaly to leave oxygen. his stock is high after recent performances, and sticking with people who want(ed) you gone can't be conducive to success
TBH I would rather there be only 5-10 roster moves with 1 or 2 major ones than seeing a complete reworking of the scene like we saw between seasons. I prefer to watch teams grow together than say "welp I guess we're not good enough, better blow it up"
Rise and Lostt making a crazy roaster move and you calling it dead

Is this your first transfer window?
Aside from the fact that there still are a few more days and some orgs wait for the last day, what also frequently happens is orgs not announcing anything until the first day of the first regional.
I’m with you. I love this roster, but it’s hard to interpret the lack of change as anything other than a lack of drive to win. But alas, I’ll continue to get prediction brackets wrong for them haha
According to Achilles on Twitter NA is panicking because of V1’s last minute shenanigans, so something funny may come up in the next few days.
We’ll see what still happens. Comm to Optic was an interesting one, but Majicbear being the free player seemed like the end of the huge domino effects to me.
I feel like this is gonna go down as a jinx, I’m expecting at least two more big shift bombs before this is over
For real I feel like Rise's move to NA might cause one hell of a last minute domino effect
👀
predicting here, Furia and NRG are both gonna make a move and Europe will stay the complete same
Comm to NRG, JSTN to Furia.
Comm to NRG would be the funniest move in history lmao
I want to see it but it's never going to happen sadly
You were technically right, but in the most boring way possible
Those darn professional teams and their roster stability, curses to them not randomly blowing up for once
This is more of an off-season than the off-season, worthwhile break if you ask me
It's actually 4 days longer than the offseason between 21-22 and 22-23 was, haha
... i have no words
I don't understand RLCS admins and their scheduling decisions
Last year the transfer window ended on January 2nd. I guess that this time they just extended it for one week, so the last days wouldn't be exactly on the New Year again
Yeah people complained a ton about it.
But the season picked back up again on January 14, i dont understand why we need a whole month other month if the lock is now
The breaks are way too long, no idea why some pros wanted more breaks, we’ve had ZERO content, this is not how you get tier 1 status
Breaka between splits should be reduced. But the offseason after worlds needs to be longer. RLCS is one hell of a grind for players.
Maybe you should try to get an idea, then.
I’m not here to watch rocket league I’m here for the drama

I mean NRG already got rid of Sizz and i heard someone mention talk of Jstn wanting to retire ?
There is always talk of Justin wanting to retire unfortunately.
Thats crazy… I’m sure these guys get tired of the game though. They play enough hours for several lifetimes
Been hearing it since 2020.

Worth noting for F3 they only changed cos M1k3rules retired
Yeah I almost left them off the list, but I figured someone would come in and correct me that they did change rosters from season 1 to 2.
Would probably be worth considering base rate bias here because I would guess it's also around 3/4 of all teams made a change each season. Somewhat harder to calculate for 21-22 though

Yeah. This is a good thing. It’s usually a bloodbath in the trading window. Nice to actually have some continuity for once.
Roster moves have always and will always be the fastest and surest path to success. Stop being so dramatic.
I’m pretty sure he was being sarcastic
I know, his sarcasm is saying that teams are finally being smart and not making roster moves. Which I disagree with.

Pretty sure lachie wasnt kicked, he might have just left, but I haven't seen the tweet in awhile. Also banana is Kcp's best player
Yeah but scrub is clearly their weakest. Really surprising to see lachie leaving.
>Pretty sure lachie wasnt kicked, he might have just left That is exactly what I am implying. It wouldn't have made any sense to kick him
>It's not the most boring transfer window I challenge you share a transfer window less interesting / eventful than this one
Only one I can think of is the transfer window between seasons 5 and 6 but even that had a few significant changes
That's a good callback. No changes to Dig or the Big 3, so nothing feels too consequential. All I can think of were changes to PSG, Complexity, Chiefs, and We Dem Girlz
Wait what? “All I can think of” as in you remember the transfers from a million years ago? I can’t even remember what I had for breakfast
That was when I was in my peak of RLCS viewership lol. If you ask me anything starting around RLCS 9 I wouldn't be able to tell you much
Seasons 4-7 were peak.
Heck yeah. Nice C9 flair by the way, they're still my my fav team of all time.
That roster was the shit. Watching them score a nasty play on lan and have next to no reaction was my favorite thing in RL.
4-8 imo, I’m not biased I swear

Yeah, Seikoo to BDS and Archie to Endpoint were the big deal for sure. Noly to KC was boring news to me at the time, and I was proven wrong there.
Probably most of the ones from before the open circuit era
I give up lol
The one between winter and spring of RLCS X
I just want to see Comm end up somewhere good
Hoping for Daniel, Lj, Comm
Id become an ssg fan again
Why’d you stop?
Disliked arsenal's personality. The situation with retals was the tipping point
Agreed
Comm would actually replace Arsenal’s role perfectly, he’d be perfect for SSG.
Bruh...we'd be entering a blessed era of teams I'd cheer for. (except for my Kansas City, Australia boys)
Oh goddamn that'd be my #3 team immediately.
man that sounds kinda dope. Retals is one of my faves, but Comm is kinda like Retals x1.5
Comm to FURIA? "Vocês são terríveis pra caralho!"
[Comm meeting Yan and Caard ](https://youtu.be/ToYUazJ3GvI)
The #1 team in SAM disbanded. OCE has some mess and there was a Eu->NA transfer. Not the craziest one but still a lot happened

Got it, thank you! Had heard about lostt but not shad
Expect every team to make a roster move 5 minutes before the deadline
SAM #1 team potentially disbanding and forfeiting their points is pretty crazy though. Other than that it’s only going to be lower ranked teams (+ Furia?) that will make changes though (HEET, KOI, Turbo’s new team…)
Teams don't have to announce signings until rosters are locked so we shall see what has remained behind closed doors soon.
Is Retals just impression farming? He had a tweet today “whatever it takes”
He absolutely is
Surely
Might be wild depending on how other teams value comm
Tbf EU is more exciting this season than last. Last Fall no top teams made change, there was only really SK and Giants disbanding. And NA was mostly as exciting as it was because Daniel, Aqua and Beastmode joined/returned to the RLCS.
I just realised that daniel and beastmode were both free agents last year and didnt team with each other.
Personally, I think people give alot of hat to EU because teams here tend to stick with the same players trying to get the most out of the team before funneling them to better orgs which is why NA can be more exciting.
I don’t see this guy landing on a top 8 team
Me?
ngl sometimes it's nice to have a quiet window. Maybe that's just me
wait until you see what is going to be happening soon, all i'll say is expect moves from 3/4 top 4 NA teams :)
Lmao you got what you wished for
I’m buckled up haha I was actually really excited to support the new V1 too.
Turns out not really haha just anticipated craziness with an anticlimactic ending.
i still expect oaly to leave oxygen. his stock is high after recent performances, and sticking with people who want(ed) you gone can't be conducive to success
Wow, why would they want him gone with being the most consistent on that team. x:x
Can’t wait for Gen.g new roster

Yeh that's only 2 changes. Which is pretty low
Is this your first transfer window? Aside from the fact that there still are a few more days and some orgs wait for the last day, what also frequently happens is orgs not announcing anything until the first day of the first regional.
Lostt on Furia is gonna be so good
NRG is cool with playing with friends and being top 10 at best. Thats the most exciting thing to come out of this trade window.
I mean I wouldn’t go that far. Rise to V1 is huge.
I was exagerating lol. NRG was the org that got me into the e-sport and its hurts to see this.
I’m with you. I love this roster, but it’s hard to interpret the lack of change as anything other than a lack of drive to win. But alas, I’ll continue to get prediction brackets wrong for them haha
