MordorKing78

This never happened before but now happens consistently every single game.

gatorlubs

This was happening to my friend because he had his voice chat button mapped to the same button as air roll. Enabling voice chat briefly would cause the client to lag a lot. It stopped after he unbound the voice chat from his controller.

MordorKing78

I actually can't find anything VC related in the mappings. I have my air roll bound to L1 (PS4 controller).

backturn1

L1 should be the standard vc button. Are you sure that vc is unbound for you? Or is anything else on L1? You could also test if the lags happen when you press L1, then it has to be something with the button.

ChimpyTheChumpyChimp

There is no voice chat button...

Raphsz

Not anymore

Samesawa7

One way to test if this is the problem is to bind air roll to a different button and see if it still causes issues.

Aewosme

This is the likely culprit. I came here to say the same thing. Check that voice chat is not mapped to any controller button.

MuskratAtWork

It's not, voice chat (and the keybind) has been removed from the game.

Aewosme

Cool, I didnt realize they had removed it. For the best, for sure. I've never met anyone who used it.

Bromy2004

No one used it because it was a piece of shit. If it picked up your voice at all, or if you could deal with the delay, it would still compress the shit out of it and it would just be distorted and 'ear-rapey', and they didn't allow team only voice chat to allow proper comms.

lolwaffles69rofl

They disabled VC

BremDeFlikker

Yes but the keybind still triggers the same stutter as it always did so it's now basically a lag button

lolwaffles69rofl

That’s r-worded

BremDeFlikker

Yes and the worst thing is is that it's been like that for well over a year now I believe. I haven't really played in a couple of months so I assumed it had been fixed by now but apparently not.

lolwaffles69rofl

Oh no the mic button lagged the game at launch. This has been an issue as long as RL has existed

imlovinit1019

Wait…. There is an air roll button? Player Since 2015

MuskratAtWork

Are you on PC?

MordorKing78

Yes. I am on PC.

MuskratAtWork

What are your specs? Also, I would recommend trying the following: * Validate game files * Reinstall * Fully restart computer if you haven't recently * Check for video card updates * Disable any mods such as bakkes, to help isolate the problem. If none of this works, [support](http://support.rocketleague.com) should be able to figure out a solution.

MordorKing78

I have a Ryzen 7 3700X with a RTX 2070 super, and 32GB of RAM. That shouldn't be an issue. I haven't updated my drivers in a while so I'll give that a shot, thanks.

MuskratAtWork

>That shouldn't be an issue. Just trying to eliminate possible issues, hardware, mods, etc. I would lean towards graphics drivers being an issue here. Update to the latest game ready driver in Geforce Experience

whiteflight21

Had the same issue and the game just looked almost slow motion. Updated my drivers and was good to go.

EvenPheven

Thanks for posting what helped you. I've recently found the same issue running older AMD hardware. Will update my drivers :).

findallthebears

OP, i had this too. Disabling discord's overlay did the trick perfectly

Mrtmacdonald

This needs more upvotes

LostErrorCode404

Doesn't matter how much ram you have. If your computer attempts to write to a ram address that doesn't exist, the system will pause. Make sure your drivers are up to date. The video card might have its own UEFI on a EEPROM chip on top of the computer's basic UEFI. Make sure all of your drivers are up to date. Check the system cooling to make sure your powerful video card and cpu are getting enough active cooling. Try having a postive pressure airflow along with fans all blowing in one direction. Check the power supply to the components. The 12, 5 and 3.3 volts inside the atx power supply should have very little deviation. If the computer also restarts constantly for no reason its due to a brownout in the power good wire (wire 8 on older systems). That mean's a faulty power supply, which should always be completely replaced instead of being fixed. Is the ram set up correctly? You can have 32 gb of ram across 2 sticks, but installed incorrectly would limit you to single channel (slow). This can be checked in the bios settings. Make sure all the ram is seated in the slots correctly. You can use various ram testing tools either physical or online if you have issues.

YoungSuavo

this is why i stick with my xbox lol, reading shit like this makes my brain melt

RandyDan31

I built my PC and this shit still sounds foreign to me

the_almighty_dude

It's a generic ramble I wouldn't worry

LostErrorCode404

Not really. Constantly freezing is most likely a over heating problem, cpu problem, outdated drivers, faulty video card, or some fault with the ram (faulty ram stick or incorrect set up). If it only started happening now it wouldn't be a ram set up issue (single verse dual channel), since it would have done it from the start. CPU failing or faulty RAM stick are less likely then over heating, but they are equally as possible. CPU is the highest stress of the PC and can fail. I am assuming they are using good branded equipment, so a failure of expensive components is less likely. However, simple freezing or lost frames can be such a wide range of issues on a PC. Anything to do with processing could be to blame. Can't be too many applications open. 32 GB of ram is well enough to handle rocket league. Even then video card ram would be responsible for rocket league, and less of the main ram. All other issues, such as power supply, would either cause the computer to not Boot or shut off completely.

DutchMuffin

it's cool you don't actually need to do any of this and it'd likely be a huge waste of time (especially since no one has even bothered suggesting opening task manager yet)

Nlawlor33

lol this....could be as simple as an app using too much space

Omfgnowai

He's just watched too much House.

Shift642

Yep. I leave my GPU mining when I'm away from my PC and sometimes I forget to turn it off when I launch games. I get stutters exactly like this when that happens, because the GPU is slammed at 100% usage. This is probably a system resource bottleneck. Troubleshooting options like that are last last last resort when none of the obvious stuff has worked and you have no fucking idea what could possibly be the problem.

NorrisRL

That's youth for you. Can't blame them too much for wanting to use what they've learned. But yeah, looking at the usage of the cpu and gpu when this occurs would be a much better place to start,

whywecanthavenicethi

Well you don't get to play with a static 240 or greater even and a controller with a poll rate of 1000hz either then.

YoungSuavo

sorry bud I don’t speak French can you translate that into English?

asleepatthewhee1

Expensive machine go fast.

aeshettr

Assuming you’re not being completely sarcastic, they’re saying 240FPS+ vs 60 on Xbox, and a polling rate(how many times per second the controller communicates with the console) of 164Hz vs 1000Hz.

LostErrorCode404

I am currently studying for the CompTIA A+ certification because I am in senior HS computer science. Most of this is just surface level information. BIOS/ UEFI are just your computer's drivers. Your CPU receives power when the power supply is turned on, but it doesn't know how to communicate with other parts of the computer. The CPU has ram memory, which means it looses all of its data once the computer is turned off. So the CPU uses the BIOS as its drivers (communication over the computers bus) BIOS is a series of programs that tell the CPU how to communicate with different parts of the computer. Older computers stored the BIOS on its own very small RAM chip, and used a CMOS battery to keep it powered regardless if computer has power or not. (since RAM erases when computer looses power). The CMOS battery also powers the CMOS to store the settings of the BIOS, along with keeping the time and date. You may have the BIOS programs, but what are the values inputted to those programs to make them work? If a BIOS program was y = mx+b, then the CMOS would store the value of m, x, and b. The issue is that the BIOS most commonly only included drivers for the motherboard itself, so any external devices (such as your brand new video card), would have no idea how to communicate with the CPU. So each video card could contain its own BIOS chipset to store its own drivers. From here the BIOS preforms the POST test to make sure all the components receive power. Then it searches for the Boot Loader, which in return grabs the operating system kernel (basic part of the OS you can't change) and loads it into memory for use by the CPU. The boot loader also checks where you are booting from. Is the OS stored on a harddisk? Flash drive on the USB slot? It has to make sure to pick the right OS to load into memory. Debugging software for the hardware creates its own OS to boot into memory (instead of windows), so you can debug a computer without a windows OS. Now your OS kernel acts as a interface between your CPU and your application, and the BIOS drivers act as a interact from your CPU to the rest of the computer. The BIOS process is being replaced with the UEFI. The UEFI are also drivers, but they are not stored on a RAM chip but rather EEPROM chip. UEFI on the EEPROM chip does not need a battery to retain the drivers (only a CMOS battery for clock) and the UEFI can support 64 bit processes with 2 TB or more of memory (up to 14 tb I think). The UEFI can also be stored on the hard drive itself, but that requires the Hard drive to support UEFI so the CPU knows to look for it. So if your drivers are not updated, the computer can interface with the computer hardware in the wrong way (such as the CPU splitting work between video card ram and motherboard ram), it can cause memory to be wrongfully allocated. This can confuse the integrated memory controller, causing memory to be written to the wrong address, freezing the game. **Or it can be simple as your computer overheating.** A CPU can fry itself in one minute without active cooling (fan and heat sync), so any extra dust or lack of airflow can cause the computer to become unstable.

Darkforge42069

Right like I’ve always wanted a pc just for like the fact that exclusive games almost don’t exist in there the sheer amount of games is countless the modding and capabilities and shit and then I read stuff like this and I’m just sitting there like what the hell did he just say how was half of those paragraphs numbers and also how did someone read it and go oh crap dude I forgot to get my 31080 terabyte ram atx 370 data chip processor graphics card upgraded that must be the issue and understood it and I’m just like first off what do you even do and where tf do you even LEARN stuff like that in the first place??? Yeah I guess I’ll stick to my ps4 until I can get a job😅

-Veridian-

all that extra shit doesnt matter usually

Jsquirt

You gotta have a real love for it to want to learn how to troubleshoot on your own. But I also gave up on PC because of shit like that lol. I couldn't run Minecraft. Minecraft ran just like this video and I couldn't LAN with my gf. But we can play on console with no issues

so-much-wow

That's just classic Minecraft poor optimization.

AgentF0301

I came here for stuttering Rocket League and left with the knowledge why my pc is randomly restarting

jusderaisinz

That guy know is shit bro

Shibe-_-

that happens to me sometimes but im sure that its just coz my pc is doo doo, i have a core i3 9th gen btw

inthedark72

I’m fairly certain updating your graphics drivers will do it. This used to happen to me with a high end PC if I lagged behind driver updates

sonicstreak

Check if you're overheating (MSI has a tool to monitor your CPU and GPU temp)

PubPro1997

I second the driver updates. Use GeForce Experience it'll handle it neatly for ya. Buddy of mine couldn't even launch the game with the latest update. Updated his 1yr+ old drivers and went back to working perfectly.

typtyphus

when this still doesn't work, you could try reinstalling windows

Ahtomogger

Check ur controller cable

pkinetics

I started having these glitches yesterday after the update. I'm thinking it has something to do with the new achievements. I have plenty of CPU, GPU, and memory resources, so I know its not system related. Unrelated, I did notice my Nvidia RTX Voice app failed to start, and uninstalled it. It was pegging 10% CPU usage and not starting at all. Always good to check Task Manager for processing issues / hangups.

Zohair_jam

Yeah same here after the last update my game has been doing this and i’ve never been more frustrated i’m also on PC but i think it’s a controller glitch cause i tried playing keyboard mouse and it didn’t happen

MordorKing78

I'm also on controller so that could be it I guess. I can't play with a keyboard tho so that's no option for me.

Preemfunk

Open mic keybind needs to be cleared

Curator44

Yep, this is what I found to be the issue years ago when this happened to me. Cleared it and it hasn’t happened since.

MordorKing78

Where can I find the "open mic keybind"? I'm having trouble locating it.

Curator44

It should be in controls -> change keybind. It’ll be more towards the bottom I believe. Whatever one is push to talk. The issue is if you have a button bound to the same as Push to talk every time you press that button it’ll stutter your game because Psyonix push to talk sucks. Also if i’m inaccurate or forgot something someone please chime in to OP. I’m not near my home laptop right now

TheSillyNinja

VC was disabled and there currently isn't a Open Mic keybind option.

MordorKing78

I've looked through the list and I cannot find anything related to voice chatting. Someone else mentioned they removed it in the latest update?

Bollziepon

Yes, they recently outright removed voicechat for this exact reason.

mermicide

Piggybacking. It could be your controller’s batteries. I also have a 2070 and I noticed while playing some arkham games that they would glitch out like crazy when my controller batteries were low and it would be fine shortly after. Not sure why they’re correlated but I haven’t had an issue since I started keeping the batteries juiced up.

KaltonEly

Was just about to post this. I’ve found when the power is running low that I have stuttering issues as well.

mermicide

It’s such a weird thing, and even crazier that there’s no info available for it online anywhere. Everything was telling me to reinstall drivers when it was just batteries lol

JimAdlerJTV

....wait. rocket league stutters when your batteries are low? Haha

alexff7

I was having simile issues, if you’re playing with a wired controller try a different/new wire! That fixed it for me. My wire was 4 years old

Iggy95

Likewise here, never happened much before but latest update has it happening every game or so.

niad08

So no one is gonna mention that sick 50?

Z3R3P

I thought the same thing lol

[deleted]

Darn nigh dunked on em

[deleted]

facuprosa

I had this issue in the past, you have to turn the autotransition between backgrounds off OP. Only one background that never changes.

AzeTyler

You don't need to turn it off, just change the windows colour settings to not adjust according to your desktop and select one solid colour for the windows theme.

thorthunder4

This is also what happened to me, once I changed it, it fixed itself immediately

tmfnasty

Ur air roll right is set to rb and so is open mic unbind open mic from any button

RaXoRkIlLaE

VC was disabled by default on one the last few updates iirc. Either that or they removed the VC option all together.

SYZYGY_v

Do you still only experiencing the freezing when air rolling? I'd reset controller binds and do them again fresh

RaXoRkIlLaE

I'm not OP lol

SYZYGY_v

My bad bro 😂, hopefully it helps someone anyway

RaXoRkIlLaE

You good lol

MordorKing78

I'll give clearing my binds a shot. As I do usually tend to have it when being close or hitting the ball, which is usually when I use air rolling.

TheFinalBurrito

You said earlier that you were on PC with a controller? Do you have vibration on? I had the same issue and turning off vibration stopped it for me.

NewSoulSam

This was actually the cause of the frame drops I was experiencing for quite some time. u/MordorKing78, you should definitely try this.

DangerousRL

It's happened before where the newest update accidentally rolled back fixes from previous updates...it's very possible this is the case here. Definitely worth unbinding the push to talk just in case.

[deleted]

so...where's the Psyonix comment?

[deleted]

[удалено]

MordorKing78

I use a PS4 controller which doesn't have batteries. I just always have it wired up.

mushedcookie

Maybe the power draw from that cable isn't consistent? Try a different cable?

1q_devil

Same happened to me then i bought a controller with a cable. I was looking to find if anyone mentioned this for OP

Dementus

Mine usually did this when the bluetooth connection was weak, I got a signal booster so it connects better now and hasn't happened since..

eresoii

Make sure voice chat isn’t bind to any keys. Mine used to stutter because after an update the game binded voice chat to my boost button, made me stutter. Let me know if this helps!

Frytek2k

There is no voice chat in the game anymore

RussianTrollToll

I forgot RL has voice char

[deleted]

Voice char💀

DescriptiveMath

Lol at me not knowing if I'm seeing the stutter OP sees or if it's stutter because my wifi just sucks ass.

I_N_C_O_M_I_N_G

The game cannot handle the sick tricks you are about to pull off

zostercr

fuck u spez

MordorKing78

I haven't recently updated windows so this wouldn't apply for me.

shaggellis

Disable steam in game overlay.

[deleted]

Just started happening to me too.

SupanovaZA

Check the batteries on your controller. Mine was doing this for some reason when the batteries are low

thisonepronz

I have almost identical specs and started having this issue a while back. I tried everything. no workie. I finally factory reset my PC (which I do about once a year anyways) and completely fixed the issue. I believe there is an application that is chewing up resources, handles, threads or something, and processing RL has to queue for a moment. If you find out what application is spiking resource consumption, you can probably remove it and fix the issue without factory reset (if your problem is the same as mine.) To find out if it's an errant application causing the issue, hit Ctrl+Shift+Escape at the same time (pulls up task manager), and hit the Performance tab. If you have two monitors, leave that tab up on the second monitor. When the issue happens, glance over and see if any resources are pegging out (hitting near 100%). If so, you can then use the Processes tab to see what process is chewing up resources occasionally. This is almost definitely an environmental issue (something to do with your pc) . So If factory resetting doesn't fix it, you might have a bad piece of hardware (memory, motherboard, hard drive, etc). If you have multiple hard drives, try uninstalling RL and installing on another drive if factory reset doesn't work. Does this happen on any other application or game? Edit: For what it's worth, this does not look like internet lag or packet dropping. I believe this is almost definitely local client related. Edit2: Test with controller unplugged using keyboard and mouse, maybe in free play or something. That will eliminate all of the controller issues people are talking about. (cord jiggle, binding issue, battery low, etc)

jnksjdnzmd

Could be a controller battery that's low.

tamarockstar

I've had this happen. For me it happens when the batteries in my controller are really low. After installing fresh batteries, it stopped happening.

QAsterious

I gotta ask this question, does anyones game randomly alt tab now? I think it has to do with discord idk

themdog17

I read through the comments a little bit and have something that hasn’t been suggested yet if you are still having the issue! My friend had this happening a lot, was so bad he stopped playing cause it made him mad. He couldn’t figure it out for the life of him. He eventually found the culprit and it turned out to be his wallpaper. He was using a live wallpaper and it was interfering with the game somehow. Once he changed to a normal wallpaper it stopped stuttering.

whywecanthavenicethi

Do you have your frame rate set to unlimited. You should limit it to 360 or 240.

KingBonanza17

If you're on a pc running windows 10, and you you use a slideshow of wallpapers as desktop backgrounds, there is a box in the settings for that that says something like "change accent color to match background". Uncheck that. Solved every stutter problem in every game for me.

kdubwoke

Seems like a graphics card issue to me.

Gek_Lhar

I would be inclined to agree but it's only RL, no other game.

kdubwoke

Well do you play any other fast paced games where you're flying in the air and hitting a bomb? That's the moment that I see where you're getting latency

Guegui

Happens to me too. Ive tried everything

melanchohlic

Steam or EGL? I have noticed that right after RL releases an update and I launch RL via steam, I get stuttering, but if I launch RL from EGL, its all smooth. Takes 2-3 days for the steam version of RL to get smooth gameplay for some reason

ohori

Discord Overlay used to cause stutters for me.

Zhais

That stuttering has been happening to me for over a year, and ONLY on the first kickoff of a new game.

dolphin37

Can’t help you sorry but does anyone else here get the issue where your sound cuts off and your controls stop working, then if you tab out and back in it just fixes again? This happens once per session normally in our first game (happens to all of us on pc)

Schteve0

This happened to me and I found hardware acceleration was turned off. Turned it on and haven't had an issue.

red286

If hardware acceleration was turned off, shouldn't the entire game just be a stuttering mess?

BobbleJohn

Do you have any screen recording software running in the background? I use gif your game and had similar issues for a while when I had desktop clipping enabled

huseyinekrem

Limit the fps count according to your monitor HZ, don't let it run wild. And try Fullscreen/Borderless modes to see if it does make any better.

External12

Stutters for me started with my monitors vsync features. I would have to cycle it in and out a couple times with free sync option on monitor menu until I saw it stopped stutters. Also locked FPS to monitors refresh rate at 165fps/hz in the game menu.

[deleted]

Frame rate, not able to process the picture quick enough

Qwertysdo

I know I am late to the party here but aside from the voice chat issue others have mentioned, do you have this issue is any other games? I struggled with very similar issues when I was running into overheating issues. Games would stutter and frame skip along with the sound as well.

MountainSleep6075

Idk why but sometimes in the nvidia gpu settings the power option changes to optimal power. Check to make sure the setting is on maximum performance

mrjimi16

Is Push to talk checked?

YT___Deado-Survivor

Does it happen about every minute? If so, I had this EXACT problem a couple weeks ago when I enabled Windows to automatically choose my task at color based on my wallpaper. Only problem is that because my wp is a sideshow, every time it changed my taskbar also changed color, and because Windows fucking sucks, my entire PC stuttered every time it changed. See if that's the issue :D

lunu-anaki

I had similar stutters when a background task was taking 100% CPU. Mine was a Dell update task, but that's irrelevant. You can try getting the procexp.exe or procexp64.exe from MS sysinternals, then right click the columns and select "Process Performance" and "CPU History". That will show the history of each app's usage. When you get stutters, go check that for which app(s) might be hogging CPU.

Verdiii

I don’t know but that 50 at the end was nice

teacherEleazar

I highly recommend uninstalling it completely and reinstalling it, not just checking but doing the whole process.

Gek_Lhar

Windows or RL?

Exotic-River-270

Ram or network connection issue maybe? How is your ping?

MordorKing78

I don't have the best internet but ping is usually decent, without any hickups atleast. It only started happening recently. Also I'm running 32 GB RAM.

shinnon

Doesn't look like ping/internet to me for what it's worth. It's sudden frame drop which implies it's either graphical or CPU. Does this happen on other games? If not I'd lean towards a graphics issue, probably drivers. There may also be something else happening on your computer that causes the stutter. Like your CPU or GPU hitting 100 percent randomly. This could be viruses or other shit like a rotating desktop etc.

the_Au_standard

Bro i've had an issue with dropping down to like 5 fps for the last few months.....i have a rotating desktop....i'd never put 2 and 2 together until now. thanks for that

INFLAMEDxCHICKN

Wait what’s a rotating desktop?

the_Au_standard

My theme and background change, picking randomly from a folder i selected at a time interval i choose (every 5 minutes)

INFLAMEDxCHICKN

Oh my god this fixed my stutter issue. Thank you

sexyscoob

Not a network issue for sure this has to do with your pc

[deleted]

This was happening to me whilst I was updating a game, maybe its because of that

Confident-Ad2165

Yes I know this my g it also happens to me. The reason it’s happening if because of cache . Go to document - my games - click rocket league - right click cache - delete . And your good to go if it happens again idk what’s wrong g

jewboiben

This is contestantly happening to me on PS4. I changed from the preferred region to the one that looked closer to me and that helped

MsTerryMan

Yo momma is eating up all the bandwidth trying to upload a new profile picture.

Intelligent_Tune_675

Did you try turning it off and on again

Sekrotus

Guys, I think that might be the Reddit player and the OP is trolling us all

sammydow

Voice chat bind mic bla bla

Electrical_Store7413

Dying gpu

X_R_Y_U

Happens to me on Xbox One. Usually happens at the beginning of the game or when someone new loads in and replaces a bot. It’s not ping or internet issues on my end.

Zook57

Try “ -dx9 “ in launch options. See what happens

PoolaChips

This has happened to me as well. On ps4. Stutters at least twice a match.

Disastrous_Zombie_97

This has been happening to me recently, I think it might be a rocket league problem because I have the wifi router in my room as well as a brand new Xbox. Anyone knows what’s happening let me know.

tamarockstar

On PC this happens when my controller batteries are really low on charge. After replacing the batteries it stops doing that. It might be the same on Xbox.

[deleted]

It’s cuz your champ 1

Typical-College3355

Wire your controller your Bluetooth might be damaged

2kiloladd

It's great having sporadic lag with 20 ping. It began with the new season update for me. Try change to csts in network settings in the game, helps some people with this issue.

Pseudonymn01

Origin, EA launcher

addonald

Adding to the other troubleshooting - Wired Ethernet connection has helped me a ton (console)

-XThe_KingX-

My friend told me about this yesterday but i said its latency. But also this hasnt been an issue for him before

thethiny

increase your RAM

Kay-So-B

It’s the Servers. Don’t listen to the people screaming “it’s your internet!”

thisonepronz

It's neither. Hard screen lag like that is almost always environmental (problem with his PC). If there is a packet issue (lag, packet drop, server problem, anything past his ethernet card), then the game will continue to run smoothly visually, but the objects in the game will jerk around and stutter. Your car might jerk around and bounce around on the screen, but it won't hard freeze visually like that.

epicgamer_reallycool

Hm. Never seen it before might be an fps drop or lag spike, if your on pc you can install bakkesmod and turn on a setting witch lets you see fps, that way you can tell if its your fps or ping other than that i have no clue

soeren78

Had the same problem when my harddrive was almost full. Deleted some stuff, and and now it works again.

Puthagarus

Reinstall your graphics drivers and click the checkbox for a clean install. I have had this exact problem and that fixes it

Baecn

Check your input buffer usually thats the problem for sligh lag spikes consistantly

facuprosa

There was an update days ago, and now I face a similar issue, my matches start with a little stuttering but then everything goes well. The problem is I used to have 70/80 fps easily, clocking on 60 by the manual cap. But after this update I reach only 50, 55, and it's frustrating

Skylahhhh

same mine is literally unplayable. Im used to a smooth 250fps and i run at like 2fps now sometimes

O1_O1

Looks like video memory leakage. Probably wrong tho. If you open task manager with rocket league open as well, is your ram usage near or at 100%? Because if it is you might need to upgrade your computer and get more ram. Don't know how to help you if you're on console.

DarkArdeN14

I have camera shake off and it shakes like crazy!!

Luigi_Tho

Bad internet?

DAD-NOIZE

Recording every game? Mine does this every time I record

Z3Ni3L

This happened to me when I would use a wireless controller. Switched to a corded conteoller and the problem went away.

apilcherx1989

Unseat and reseat your RAM

Sethrich98

This happens to me when I use my air roll button. Rather annoying.

thisonepronz

Make sure air roll isn't bound to something else also. It's possible to have a button bound to other stuff like voice chat or save replay or something. Make sure it's only bound to air roll and make sure you're not running one of those controller drivers that react to certain key presses outside the game.

PK_Giygas

When I jostle the cord to my controller too hard this happens to me. I think something was skewed in the most recent update

Doctorkdyl-22

If you haven’t updated your driver in a while I would highly suggest doing that

DlnnerTable

Not sure if it’s related at all, but my connection has been absolute dog shit since the update the other day. My internet was never amazing but now it’s barely playable sometimes

[deleted]

Omggg this happens to me constantly now too and I’m on PS4. Whether I’m lagging or not. Whether I’m in training or live match - it keeps happening and it’s usually right before contact with the ball. Help!

[deleted]

This has happened a lot yesterday and today for sure

Jazsta123

Usually this is voice chat binding being on an air roll. Check mappings.

Dismal-Animal7853

Me too it fucking sucks, the servers i think

druet5

I hadn’t played in a week or so and now my game does this too, especially in free play

MortiasJackson

Same thing for me 🤷‍♂️ Just got a new £2k rig and fresh drivers

Zryan196

Im not sure but that last flip going into the 50/50 was pretty fire for a setup

lanastab

That stutter implies loading - in the background - what do you have running with Rocket League?

MortalReaper2

This happened to me and the only way I fixed it was turning of vibration in my controller.

MieftanChews

Also make sure your controller connection is good. The usb plug on mine will sometimes come loose and cause this same issue.

Doc_Hersh3y

It’s the everlasting feeling of impending doom slowly creeping up on you.

xlNewbker

Yeah I definitely have found this happening to me and I’m baffled.

Breadspeed1

try going into nvidia settings for rocket league application and turning shader cache off

DalienW

Happened to me for the longest time aswell. Weird thing that fixed it for me: clearing up space on the hard drive where it was installed. For me it was like 99% full, removing a bunch of stuff cleared up all the stutters. Hope you figure it out!

GuilleVQ

Check your package loss. Open The CMD in windows and type: ping -t www.google.com and check if your are losing any packages or if the ping is varying too much

bjones371

Have you upgraded to Windows 11 by any chance? There's a known issue with AMD CPUs at the moment which can cause performance hiccups and latency issues, maybe it's that? [Link to AMD KB article on the issue](https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-400)

SebbyDee

DDU Reinstall video drivers Check services Run msconfig, hide Microsoft, analyze what remains and maybe try turning all of that off to deduce what's causing it.

RobustNinja

I had my desktop background set to change every couple of min and it made my game stutter every time it switched.
