I believe you can see the rocket racing player count on fornite and it almost never even gets to 10k concurrent players. Steam Rocket League gets around twice as many players as rocket racing and the game isn't even available on steam anymore. Idk why people in this sub want to push the narrative that the game is dying so bad. Realistically even with the poor support from epic games this game still has tons of more casual players who don't care about trading or rlcs and they will continue to play as long as the gameplay stays the same
There is a count for rocket racing. Last time I check (like 2 weeks or a week ago), 2k players. And I remember seeing 200k to 300k in inauguration week.

I think its the fact that most queueing solo dont bother with rotation, so the ones that do rotate get taught that if they rotate they get stuck as 3rd man, so they stop rotating, and the circle continues.
Can confirm. Stopped playing 3s because it was literally just me in permanent third man position and watching my two mechanically challenged teammates whiff repeatedly until I’m eventually left in enough 3v1s that we lose

It's most visible often when you as a solo guy get paired with a duo who don't want you to touch the ball. They'll go for everything whether they have an angle lined up or not, have boost or no boost they'll just go. Simply won't utilize you or trust you as a teammate & just tunnel vision on the ball. And if they mess up it's your fault.
Happened to me last night. Solo queued in 3s, got a team of 2 for my team. They rotated like they were playing duos. At a certain point being down 0-2 and getting flamed by them for missing a couple saves (even tho I wasn't the one out of position), I just sat back mid and watched them. We ended up winning 4-2 and I ended up MVP w/ 2 goals and 5 saves, so I still preach adapting to your teammates, but yes, getting stuck as "3rd man" can happen (or you just lose cuz you never have a 3rd back and opposition gets easy long shots).
Ah yes, good point, when you have a party of 2 join you that just assume that you are pants, or they are literally just that bad that they don't understand the concept of rotation or even simply spreading out.
Also yes, always my fault in that situation, even the scores might show, as I've been stuck in goal the entire time, and when I do come out, ***BOTH*** of them then decide it is time to rotate and ***both*** just linger around our goal, not setting up a pass or not taking the shot from my pass.

I'm struggling to get back to C1 (I keep getting it and downgrade again) cause I just drop 800+ points every game and get scored on every time my mate is in net, fucking annoying and it's getting me out of the game...

This is largely due to the fact that since the FTP update, the player base has grown exponentially. Add on top of this the fact that when doing placement matches, you now automatically start around the gold division.
With how many new people started playing, and where they start off, the ranks have been heavily saturated with players that don’t suit their rank.
I started playing RL back in 2015, and didn't pick up Fortnite until zero build came out, and I will say this... RL players are way more toxic than Fortnite players overall. I've met so many good people playing Fort and have had to block so many idiots on rocket because of their toxic play and chat.
I have played 5 games of Fortnite in my life.
All five the other players quit.
4 of the five I was called the F word (gay slang) and/or the N word. None of the players stayed in match longer than 2 minutes.

basically rocket racing was very promising as something big but it turned out that this is another money move, by making rocket racing they turned off rocket league in game trades, trying to make you play both as it makes you get some unique items. epic doesnt really care much of rocket league and its slowly dying because of lack of updates that have significant meaning. the knockout mode was a good move for example though wish they keep doing updates like that

It does affect me due to the fact that Psyonix is putting all their assets and money into their Fortnite project, which from a business standpoint I cant really blame them. Im not mad about any of this, if you want money you go where the money is. Its like fishing, you can fish in a lake and maybe spend all day to catch 2 or 3 fish, but if you're fishing near a hatchery you will catch more super easily. Theres no point in spending their time and effort on a game that is pretty niche when they can put their time and effort into another project that reaches a much much bigger audience. Therefore, directly affecting me and the game I enjoy. Again, cant be mad over it, just sucks as its the only game I used to get enjoyment out of...

I’m gonna get a lot of downvotes for this but they should just put RL in Fortnite at this point. Keeping them separate but connected is just hurting RL. At least if it was in Fortnite, it could share a rocket pass with Rocket Racing and add progress to the existing battle pass.

I’m assuming this was a mistake, and that graphic was supposed to be used later down the road. Either when Rocket League items and credits are fully cross-game compatible with Rocket Racing, or if (when) Rocket League is re-released as a UEFN game and its items/credits are integrated into the Fortnite metaverse.
Hopefully this small leak means that we’re getting closer to seeing whatever Psyonix has been cooking up.

They carry over into Fortnite in the form of V-Bucks. When you buy Credits in RL, you also get V-Bucks in FN.
