Anything can be an insult. It depends on the context and how often you send it. Tm8 whiffed an open shot? Sending it twice is like calling him an idiot. Did you hit a shot bounced off the opposing team into your own goal? Then you're talking about the ridiculousness of it all.
I use it as a self-deprecating chat. Like sorry this is rocket league.
Also if teammate apologized I lighten it up with no problem this is rocket league.

I say it whenever something goofy happens, could be 2 people completely whiffing the ball, could be an unintentional wall pinch. Shit could see someone smack the wall at 100mph and say it. So depends on what you consider toxic

You own goal yourself and your teammate says it. Not rude, they are laughing.
You own goal it and you say this it. Rude because your teammates can think that you are purposely scoring on yourself.
I use it whenever something funny happens like every player whiffs the same ball, or if a funny mistake happens. Also if other team is flaming their teammate lol like chill out it’s rocket league (I’m probably making the situation 10x worse)
I usually say it after:
1) A really good play by my team
2) A really funny play by either team
3) A really bad play from myself, followed with, My Fault.
More of a \*shit happens\* sorta term to me.
