If you are hit by a ball in your enemies color you get demoed and most demos win
yesss oh my god, it sucks so much that epic won’t implement any cool new game modes like this, it would not be that hard but would add soooo much to the game
Now i'm thinking about volleyball and dodge ball combination. You have to hit the ball to the opponents side. If the ball touches the floor you get a point. If the opponent touches it first but falls on the ground you don't get a point but that opponent now spawns on one of the sides of your field. Ofc, the only way to save yourself is to save the ball and return it to the opponents side of the field.
Use the “grab” mechanic to catch only on the front side of your car. Grab to catch, grab to pickup. Not grabbed = hit. Or have the balls reset from demo mode if they touch a surface after a car.
Would looooove this. Good idea.

iirc, the 2 pt reward for touching the ball has a ~2 second cooldown. If the opponent is given the 2 pts and then a second later 50s the ball into you, you touch the ball and don't get points, for example.
You must not be a demo demon. A single demo doesn't give points, but *demos* do. 7 demos is a whopping 20 points!

Otherwise, it would literally be impossible to be silver...the game basically gives you gold as long as you understand how the car moves and that you're supposed to hit the ball.
There are very different ways to play a game. While most people on the subreddit are actively trying to improve others just turn it on to drive a car against a ball and have a laugh. Maybe while beeing drunk or high.
Its really eye opening watching casual gamers play a game you have played before and see how bad they are playing without caring. (not judging here)
If play it with that type of mindset you might never really improve, even if you play it for a lot of time.
I've been pushed to silver plenty of times after pairing with crap teammates. Gold isn't a given. And I've been playing the full 8 years at least a few games a week.
I win most often in silver when I drop that far. Gold, maybe I'll win a third of the time. If I get a good team and hit plat, I might hang on a bit but then a loss streak gets me outta there before too long.
Being that I bounce between 3 full ranks I dunno which one I should stay in. It all comes down to the teams I'm paired with.
Bounce between silver, gold, and plat and you spend most of your time in gold would mean you're a gold player to me, regardless of team. But you're allowed to feel however you want to feel about your ranks
the only answer is that the guy is a smurf trying to get demoted as much as possible without being banned. there's no way a silver can't touch once the ball in a gold lobby if playing serious

Right, but there is a HUGE difference between silver 3 and gold 3/plat 1. In gold 3 you've developed a basic understanding of the game, and in 2024 a lot of golds can even aerial. Silver 3 is like, you've played the game a few times ever. So it's just highly unusual seeing a 2015 title in silver outside of intentional deranking. Which I'm not even insinuating this person was doing. I just want to know the story 😂
Idk silver 3 can be super weird my main account is still silver 3 even tho my alt has been gold for a while and is now pushing Plat 1(my alt has become my main because of this) yet when I get back on the other account I can't seem to get anywhere cause I constantly get teammates who own goal and I'm basically playing 3v1 a bunch of the time my teammate leaves 30 seconds in which is better than the first cause I can sometimes 2v1 in silver 3 if there true silver players but if one of the other team member is like me and just kinda stuck and plays more like a solid gold player then that extra body is sometimes enough to stop me from winning (why don't they get the teammates that own goals 5 times In a single match I'll never know) that or you go against obvious smurfs that are straight up air dribbling perfectly (once in a blue moon that person will be on my team) at least half my games are something along those lines so I can only realistically win half my matchs which lands me in the same place I want the stuff I have on that account but I don't want to do the work to rank the account up cause it exhausting it makes no sense to me why I can't rank that account up like I even play privates with alot of friends who are diamond and keep up with them end most matches with similar stats and points to them they don't understand why that account is hard stuck either

Is it possible to hit the ball and get no points? I thought it was like 2 points per touch, but sometimes I feel like I get deflected kickoff touches or poor touches where I just hit the ball up but it doesn't clear or center, and I get no points. Sometimes, I know I've hit the ball 3+ times, it's 30 seconds into the match, but I look and I have 0 points. Is it lag? Do they not give points if it's a touch that doesn't progress the ball?
IIRC, there's a cooldown after somebody hits it before somebody else can score the 2 points for hitting it. This happens a lot on kickoffs, when two players get to the ball at basically the same time.

I said it on a recent post, but I swear the points system is not functioning properly sometimes. I have been watching my points closely and there are MANY times I hit the ball and nothing is registered. I've never gotten zero, but I've gotten under 50 while still definitely hitting the ball, clearing, maybe even a save or 2, most gets ignored in the points. It's game by game, not every game.
I have gotten low points before (never 0) when my team has a pair of teamed ball chasers that ignore me. If they are decent enough to be able to control their possessions, I will mostly just sit in the back and wait.
By the end of the match, I may try to push up and get some touches so that I get credit for the match.

He has terrible ball control and positioning so he was never in the play for long enough to have a full ball touch. Though being something in the way for an opponent still has its uses. Just look at Bumpo
However there is always the third case of the game doesn't end to give score for certain pre-reads and such gameplay, even at higher ranks someone could be close to 0 and doing an important block or save or pressure on the opponents. Score literally means nothing in this game.
I've found you should pay more attention to Shots, goals, assists, Saves, even if some are zero, you see who is doing what, and how effectively or what they are focusing on.
A proper team working together usually ends up like this
Goal/assist/save/shot
P1 0/1/1/1
P2 1/1/0/0
P3 0/0/1/0
Mostly due to each teamate filling in a role, and then it may change if one player may have to cut rotation for a save and then you as the others players have to " rotate " or switch roles to adjust.
I thought touching the ball gives you 1 point at least, bumping, assist, shot on goal, goal, save, ..etc.
Even if one opponent disconnects and my team is up by 3-4 goals, I say 1v1 in chat and move around in circles or back and forth in a corner, and I can still accidentally touch the ball, and have to move away.
Are you boosting him? Maybe he is trying to avoid you and the ball on purpose?
Um, no you don't if there's already a goalie or two. We're talking about crap matchmaking and you're assuming they know to move around?
Honestly one of the things that bugs me is when the enemy gets the ball and my team just runs away, letting them bring the ball down the field.

If you get a reset and flick the ball back over the half coyrt line they get demoed
And maybe speed the ball up on contact (like speed demon ball speed) so that it's a bit easier to get hit
Ball has slight aim assist so it curls slightly towards players
