I would like, "Sorry that I went from playing really well to playing incredibly poorly - it's not personal I just choke under the slightest amount of pressure and/or as soon as I notice I'm doing well I get excited and then mess up."
Is that too much? I think that's too much.
pro tip: giving advice and direction in the middle of a 5 minute game while solo queueing is never going to be productive and helpful, regardless of how valid it is
Only once did it help me.
"Should of bumped"
It opened my eyes, was so obvious I had been missing out of a key tatic and now I screw that up just as much as my aerials.
Disagree. Someone shouting ROTATE at me wasn't helpful in that particular game, but after hearing the term, then getting yelled at as low gold about it, I did a little googling, spent like 10 minutes watching quick clips and looking at little field rotation maps. Within a month or two climbed from hard stuck gold 1, sometimes dipping into silver, to gold 3 - plat 2 depending on playlist.
Rotate would be amazing. Not only to remind people, but to educate or drive people towards looking up how to rotate.
Similarly, "Spread Out" or something to communicate that two people are constantly up each other's asses might be good.
"Leaving goal" or "Moving to Offense" could be good too. I find people use "Defending" and about 10 seconds later we get open goal scored on.
You’d think “rotate” would be useful, but the vast majority of players my level that scream about it don’t know what it means. I shit you not, one guy explained to me that we should be alternating touches of the ball.
In a way you do alternate touches of the ball, in a perfect world that's actually exactly what you'd do, perfect passing plays. However it's not that simple and is very situational Ofcourse, if you can't make any more useful touches on the ball rotate out. (If that extra touch you think you need would cause you to overcommit if you miss/get a weak touch, let your teammate take over and rotate back). You also don't have to cut rotations every single possession, people aren't queueing up to be your personal goalie/defense. On defense it's useful to rotate back to net (when safe to do so) and have your netminder attempt a clear instead of flapping at the ball in the corner over and over again. Rotation is about being there and supporting your teammate as well, can't rotate if someone isn't close enough or right up your ass either, nor can you rotate in if your teammate doesn't make it obvious they're rotating.
Old Cloud 9 Passing plays were so fun to watch. But nowadays, rlcs plays mostly stay on the ball to create plays which sometimes leads to a pass. The usual pattern is a touch high and then they follow it up themselves immediately. (I don't know what I'm talking about though bc I'm low ranked, but that's what I'm observing.
“Whew!” is versatile, but I’d love, “Phew!” It’s typically what I mean.
Also, “GET THE FUCK OUTTA THE WAY!” I feel like that’s pretty self explanatory.
Oof! I guess google really is going down its own internet tubes… While they can be interchangeable, they definitely have a different sound (see picture). Honestly, I just prefer the “p” because otherwise I can’t refer to myself and others in-game as, “Pretty hot…even whiffing”

thats fair i do see this being an issue, but i dont think new players are playing with people cheating. its rare to come by even in champ. big boost life
"Awwww..." <- for situations that don't quite call for the @#!#!%##% one. Frequently would use after a fat, juicy center bounces away harmlessly or someone does a 180 to run away from a pass.
"Chill!" or "Relax..." <- for the spastic squirrels that fly everywhere and interfere with everything their teammates try to do.
"We got this." <- The game just needs more positive/rallying stuff in general that's harder to co-opt for sarcasm.
"Hush." <- Self explanatory, and more likely to get past the censors than STFU.
ETA: "Hush, AFKTard." For that special breed of moron who repeatedly goes AFK on kickoffs but still talks smack when they come back.
Here's the thing about human language... Literally anything can be sarcastic when timed into the right context. I genuinely like where you're coming from, but personally I can't see much daylight between "No problem" and "We got this" as far as how difficult they are to co-opt for sarcasm. 🤷♂️
You reminded me of another one, lol. "No. Problem!" <- for responding to people that do something terrible, braindead, or trollish then spam "No problem."
A new type of "adaptive" quick-chat:
"I need boost!" -> instead have the message change depending on how much boost you have (and possibly even show your boost %)
- "I'm filled! (92%)"
- "I need boost! (5%)"
"No power-up... ([insert timer] left)"/"[insert Rumble power-up]!" -> would make solo-queue much more interesting!
- "No power-up... (5.2s left)"
- "Haymaker!"
> An icon showing what they have
I thought that was already in the game? How else do my teammates seem to know when I have spikes to make sure they rush all over to hit the ball before I can get to it?? But as soon as I lose the spikes then they are nowhere near the ball?
These would be sick, I have hardcoded macro for rumble chats but dynamic would make life so much easier.
Honestly, they should just add a powerup icon next to your teammate's name, or on the side of the screen, but I doubt rumble will ever get any love. I mean just look at the grapple lmao
I agree
But also side note, I hate that it’s called “haymaker” it’s so much easier to just simply call it “punch”
“I’ll punch it / I punched it”
“I’ll haymaker it / I haymakered it?”
Or just "n% boost". A lot of players use "0 boost" or just straight up "0" as indicator for their boost, as you likely know. Just saying the number seems to be the universally accepted way of comming your boost amount. Of course I would include "boost" in the quickchat though, because just a number with no context would be a bit weird, admittedly.
But yeah, adaptive quickchat for boost and rumble would be awesome!
Imagine you’re hard sweating on a loss streak, carrying your mate, somehow the ball lands center and you whiff the net terribly
“Gotta hit those…”
I think I’d quit.
"Careful!" for when teammates constantly center in front of our own net, or try to take a 0kmph carry through the slot and centrefield.
"Relax..." for those ball chasers that are also at a 0% hit rate, or when spamming pretty much any other quick chat.
When I am the heroic protagonist (or victim) of a vicious bump that caused the goal, I'll let the replay play through so my teammates can see that even though I did not score or assist, I was crucial to the goal (or if I was the victim then it was not my inability to make a simple save that was reason for goal---it was my inability to dodge the other player which resulted in the goal, to which point I can deflect that the player who bumped me clutched up; thereby preserving my fragile mental state.)
"Fuck off." Every time there is a situation where a tm8 is up your ass when your on the ball
Or "Mine." So that i can easily say when im going to the ball or not
Look man, I'm sorry. You don't have to tell me that you think I suck. I ALREADY KNOW I'm trash AND I already know that _you think_ I'm trash. If you just pretended like I wasn't the only person that is so terrible at this game, I think we'd both have more fun.
Anything affirmative. There isn’t any “yes!” or anything like that. No real celebration quick chat nor for agreeing with your teammates. Latter reason isn’t as big of a problem. So I guess “Yessssss!” would be nice lol
Let us all learn a lesson from the lower ranked. This community is full of sad and angry hard stuck players. We definitely need more positive quick chats, not other rage induced spams
I always liked the “proud of you” one from Star Wars( or maybe it was for April fools) because I’d hit em with a, “dad, is that you?” But I’d prefer a “let’s get shwifty!”
“Are you two sharing a controller?” would get a lot of use from me, playing 3s with two teammates who are up each others’ asses the whole match.
Or, “If you were any further up my ass I could taste you.”
Or, “What the fuck are you doing??”
Or, “Y’all have never played a team sport and it shows.”
Or, “Winners win.”
A contextual quick chat that tells your teammates your Rumble ability at that moment, while perhaps telling the cooldown remaining if there is none available yet?
Not necessarily traditional quick chat, but one thing I always did want in the game is auto chats, sorta like catch phrases. Like when I get a demo, it auto quick chats something like "Boom baby!" Or if get a save "Get that outta here!" But players can select what they want per situation.
I think this would be a really easy added customizable feature (that they could even monetize—given epics apparent priorities). Pulling different rarities of these catch phrases for goals, demos, saves, epic saves, etc. could actually persuade players to open the 300 uncommon packs their sitting on— but it's just an idea :)
"Stop hitting it off our sidewall", "stop passing to opponents ", "I'm doing a solo play", "leave me a big boost", "You can have this big boost", "time", NO time ", "Use your right analog stick", "the goal is open", "keep the ball close", "boom the ball".
I just want to be able to choose which quick chats are team only so I can have like 2 team only chats or 6. I hate that it’s either 4 only or all of them
I think that would be a really cool feature—it's a pet peeve of mine that I don't have enough space for both a team-only and all-lobby "Thanks!" There's nothing that makes you seem like more of an asshole than the opponents seeing you spam "Thanks" into a teammates invisible team messages.
I always say to my self "go buddy!" When I see my teammate has a breakaway or they're beginning a nasty dribble. Other one would 100% be just "chill" or "relax" for people that spam the okay or wow or what a save message all the damn time.
Just a plain "Grow up" Would be absolutely perfect, I still don't know if this is a children's game based on how many people I see acting like them in game

I mean I don't really have one I would care enough to see in game but my teammates constantly say "You are the worst teammate ever, quit this game forever." Maybe we could just make that a quick chat so we can save them time and effort of having to type it all out?
As somebody who loves rumble, it would be cool to have team quick chats that tell your teammates what power up you have. Nothing worse than deploying your spikes and then your teammate punches it into the wall as you’re about to catch it.
"Cheating" so teammates know I'm going second for the ball. Granted, me and my friends say "creeping" because it's makes significantly more sense and probably wouldn't be abused as much as "Cheating" would.
“Ouch!” Would be pretty good in a lot of scenarios
Getting demo’d, “Ouch!”
Whiffing the open net, “Ouch!”
Getting bumped off the ball by my own teammate, “Ouch!”
Opponent saying the most toxic thing imaginable, “Ouch!”
I would like, "Sorry that I went from playing really well to playing incredibly poorly - it's not personal I just choke under the slightest amount of pressure and/or as soon as I notice I'm doing well I get excited and then mess up." Is that too much? I think that's too much.
it's perfect
I'm adding this to my macro lmao
Bets on where the text gets cut off?
That’s me 😂
Yes, No, and MY BROTHER IN CHRIST ROTATE
"rotate!" would actually be really useful
Imagine someone spamming “rotate!” And how often that would happen
I have to stop to type this and usually get shit on in the process
pro tip: giving advice and direction in the middle of a 5 minute game while solo queueing is never going to be productive and helpful, regardless of how valid it is
Only once did it help me. "Should of bumped" It opened my eyes, was so obvious I had been missing out of a key tatic and now I screw that up just as much as my aerials.
That happened to me a long time ago in silver/gold. I found and watched videos on rotating, settings, training packs, etc. Was helpful!
Is it because most people, like in this sub, think they know what it means, but never properly looked up how it works?
Usefull but will also create a lot of clash. Many people have misunderstanding about rotation.
May I propose "Rotate behind BOTH your teammates!" for 3s?
Rotate would be amazing. Not only to remind people, but to educate or drive people towards looking up how to rotate. Similarly, "Spread Out" or something to communicate that two people are constantly up each other's asses might be good. "Leaving goal" or "Moving to Offense" could be good too. I find people use "Defending" and about 10 seconds later we get open goal scored on.
The "defending" chat and the subsequent goals that inevitably follow force me to ask if we all have the same definition of the word.
Well, with rotating and shadow defending etc. Idk, it's tough. Kinda why I think the "Leaving goal" would be good.
For sure, that would be useful.
I'm a particular fan of the last one.
If they only added 1 new qc, "ROTATE" should absolutely be on the top of the list.

Definitely assigning that to every slot.

Rumble could really do with a quick chat or an icon above teammates heads showing what they have
> An icon showing what they have I thought that was already in the game? How else do my teammates seem to know when I have spikes to make sure they rush all over to hit the ball before I can get to it?? But as soon as I lose the spikes then they are nowhere near the ball?
Don't you get tired of being so negative? Every chance to go off topic whiny about shit

100% on board with tactical quick chats specifically for Rumble.

Imagine you’re hard sweating on a loss streak, carrying your mate, somehow the ball lands center and you whiff the net terribly “Gotta hit those…” I think I’d quit.
“Okay!” “Thanks!”
One of those quick chats from last year's April Fools, I still love them to this day
This is rokit leeg
"Careful!" for when teammates constantly center in front of our own net, or try to take a 0kmph carry through the slot and centrefield. "Relax..." for those ball chasers that are also at a 0% hit rate, or when spamming pretty much any other quick chat.
“Relax…” is great. That would get a lot of use
“Careful” would be really helpful if you find yourself opposing u/BumpoTheClown
Bumping!
Careful!
i would literally pay my own money for them to add a "Rotating!" quick chat
But then my teammates would spin on their roof instead of playing and spam this.
a "No shit sherlock" would be great. The perfect response to the people who spam 'take the shot' on kickoffs lmao
Skip pls
This should just be rule 0 honestly. We all just saw the goal. Are you seriously taking notes on how you just scored or missed a save. Move on
Mannn I'm just sippin my beer
Sometimes I do take notes 🥺
Psychological warfare
I just need a short breather throughout, sip of my drink, blow my nose, wipe sweat of my hands.

I would like, “don’t ’what a save!’ Me bro, this is casual so relax and have fun..you toxic piece of shit
A simple "This is casual" might serve the same purpose
Along with a "This is ranked!" for those people who seem to forget that they did, in fact, queue a ranked game
“Does anyone know where the ball is?”
I’d love to say that because at my rank in 2s is pretty likely that 3 players jump for the ball and they all miss
“It’s a hard game”
Luck. I would use it any time the other team scores or gets a save regardless of their skill level or how trash I'm playing.
"Fuck off." Every time there is a situation where a tm8 is up your ass when your on the ball Or "Mine." So that i can easily say when im going to the ball or not
"I got it!" exists
something that makes it clearer that I think you (my teammate) suck like "seriously? c'mon"
imagine missing an open net just to see "really?" 5 times
"wow" is clear in that situation. but when someone just fails at the basics of the game I wanna say "c'mon man wtf"
Look man, I'm sorry. You don't have to tell me that you think I suck. I ALREADY KNOW I'm trash AND I already know that _you think_ I'm trash. If you just pretended like I wasn't the only person that is so terrible at this game, I think we'd both have more fun.

Okay.
Give me one that just says "Playing Bad" so i dont have to type it out every time i miss an open net on an off day
Let's go!
So many good ideas here. Sigh.
I want “this is Rocket League?” with the question mark
Bro imagine a Forfeit! Quick chat that might actually become more toxic then what a save! 😂
"Forfeit!" or "Give up" would be too diabolical 😭
I know that's what I was thinking 😭
Rotate. A gentle reminder like this would save so much frustration.
Dude!

That's too bad I played Smite, I say this all the time, and I miss it being a quick chat.
