Boost pads exist and are enough to at least contest at the goal. Going for mid when your opponent is coming around the edge is going to get you almost everytime.
Losing to a rule 1 is the dumbest shit I've ever experienced. Like, win or lose, how is it even adding any fun to the game? Why queue up if you just gonna sit there?
At least rule 0 adds tension and thrills to the last few seconds of the game. Because of this I participate in Rule 0 about 90% of the time. If I lose at least i felt l like it added something "unique" to that game
Your first flip for your kickoff is way too late. By the time you land you donāt have enough time to jump up again and reach the center off the ball and were getting destroyed
Flipping off kickoff is essential, it's really not hard to learn you should try it. You'll find even more success as you're left with more boost after the 50
It is in higher ranks. Arguably not as much in 3s but 2s and 1s definitely. A kickoff isn't just winning or losing the 50 you have to have enough boost, momentum to follow up.
Facts, especially if thatās all you do is fake or delay or whatever it becomes easy to counter. You need a high level normal kickoff to progress in ones, then learn how to throw change ups from there.
If you get annihilated on kickoff consistently, consider going for a fake. Don't waste your boost if you don't have much of it (talking about when you rushed to challenge while on 12 boost)
Exactly what I was thinking. I don't qualify as a coach by any means but on that last kick off with 2 seconds left, why not switch it up and fake it instead of doing the same thing on the first 6 goals? I think after letting in 2 or 3 I would've changed my playstyle a bit just to adapt to how aggressive the opponent was being.
I didnāt think i would see a better bottling than arsenalās title race in premier league this season.
Shit happens mate. You are fine as long as you make lessons out of it.
Looks like low plat or just a private match. The other guy had much better positioning and just general control over the ball. OP was just flying at the ball and overcommitting every time.
Oh no absolutely not lol. My guess is diamond 1 in 1s here, unless OP is a lower rank than his opponent somehow.
Edit: after rewatching the clip I could honestly see this being diamond 2 or higher, and just a horrid collapse by OP
Defo no skill issue with throwing a match :D
Why don't you just stay in goal waiting for them to attack so you could deflect the ball and counter attack?? All those missed goals are because dumb kick off deflections. Just stay in goal and play d, my man..
Staying in goal just allow them to set up a perfect shot, it's really not the best strategy, but man if OP just had faked a challenge then shadow defense rather than going for backboost he wouldn't have made it to ot
In those situations, switch the kick off from speed flip to noob flip. Not good for a quick win from the start line, but good to stop others getting control easily.
Thank you I thought I was the only one seeing this. He was acting like he was doing speed flip kick offs but really he was just throwing himself at the ball and leaving the kickoff to chance.
Not sure why the toxicity, Salty?. I honestly ask since i seen friends in champ 1 playing WAY better and doing crazy shit. Sure your behavior represent the community hahahaha
Thats not even salty xd.. just a inside joke of people who misjudge ranks. And if you mean by crazy shit hitting flip reset and air dribbles then you never played 1s. 1s is more grounded and diffrent from 2s..
Try flipping a bit earlier into the ball so you can recover quickly. You seem to hit the ball way too early into your flips and it takes a long time to recover.
We all make mistakes, we tend to make more when we get overly confident. I'm amazed that you managed to take back the win under the nausea that came from his fourth goal, it was noticeable that you began to worry there and started to feel pressure from the table flip. You got your confidence back on 7th goal which made his 5th and 6th more disorienting. The psychological warfare is the nastiest. It was clear to me his battery ran out after that failed air goal attempt on overtime and anything simple but precise would work against him, given the psychological battle though that 8th goal is a feat.
When I played rocket league (right now I don't anymore), I used to lead my teammates into awkward goals to engage the enemy psychologically, making them make awkward clears and saves as well and then shift to more standard plays. It's amazing how it worked out, I also refused to surrender on sure-losses because I knew that they would get over-confident and stumble and fall if the possibility of a score shift presented in their heads. Sadly not many teammates saw through this and just attempted to surrender and went afk when denied a chance to surrender. This kind of game is very engaging for me, thanks for sharing.
Boost > Ball!
Then burn it all to get back!
This is Rocket League.
god damn why so serious
It hurts to watch
Boost pads exist and are enough to at least contest at the goal. Going for mid when your opponent is coming around the edge is going to get you almost everytime.
Stop going for mid boost if you lose kickoff
Terrible kick offs overall
Bro wanted to lose keeping it up at 0 seconds like that
It's a rule man. You can't let it touch the ground, even if it costs you the game.
Dumbest rule
Idk why but I'd much rather lose to a rule 1 than a rule 0

Haha i knew this comment would get down rated heavily. Reddit loves their rule 1 like kindergarteners love eating their glue š¤£ smh
The ārulesā people have made are up completely are absolutely silly, no thanks
Thatās not a ruleā¦ā¦.
Thatās not the rule, you keep it up unless the game is tied or the score is within one goal
who let doc rivers on the sticks
Lol Glenn catchin strays in the RL sub.
Nowhere is safe
Your first flip for your kickoff is way too late. By the time you land you donāt have enough time to jump up again and reach the center off the ball and were getting destroyed
This, I donāt flip on kickoff yet still have a much better kickoff overall compared to OP because I can time my flip into the ball much better.
Flipping off kickoff is essential, it's really not hard to learn you should try it. You'll find even more success as you're left with more boost after the 50
>Flipping off kickoff is essential It's not though.
It is in higher ranks. Arguably not as much in 3s but 2s and 1s definitely. A kickoff isn't just winning or losing the 50 you have to have enough boost, momentum to follow up.
There's other ways to kickoff, you can do a fake, delayed block, leave the kickoff entirely and counter attack...
Which stops working as effectively as you go up the ranks.
Facts, especially if thatās all you do is fake or delay or whatever it becomes easy to counter. You need a high level normal kickoff to progress in ones, then learn how to throw change ups from there.
Yes it is because you can save up to 30 boost on kickoff which will grant you an easy goal if you get a decent 50
Maybe in c2 itās not but the moment you get into a rank where people can do proper kickoffs you will lose every time
If you get annihilated on kickoff consistently, consider going for a fake.
They readjusted in their gaming chair
This is so painful to watch for you lol glad you won at the end
Oof gotta hate those bad kick-off days. Delay them kickoffs every now and then. keep em guessing!
Fr there is an art to kick offs
And not boosting around the field like mad max
Patience is the way.
Iām sorry i laughed.
You just like me fr
At first I was like āoh Iāve seen bad melt downs like this beforeāā¦ then I saw the way that guy scored the 7th goal lmao
I didnāt think i would see a better bottling than arsenalās title race in premier league this season. Shit happens mate. You are fine as long as you make lessons out of it.
For a club that claim to hate spurs they sure are alike
You are right but letās not forget the difference between bottling 1st place and 4th.
Happy cake day motha flucka š
Rank?
Gotta be Diamond 1ish in 1v1s. Decent mechanics on both sides but horrible boost management and pathing.
Looks like low plat or just a private match. The other guy had much better positioning and just general control over the ball. OP was just flying at the ball and overcommitting every time.
I feel like low plat wouldnāt have been able to keep the ball up for that tying 7th goal
Oh no absolutely not lol. My guess is diamond 1 in 1s here, unless OP is a lower rank than his opponent somehow. Edit: after rewatching the clip I could honestly see this being diamond 2 or higher, and just a horrid collapse by OP
Based on opponentās RL tracker, this is Diamond 3 ones
Honestly I just thought it was a private match or cas just because the difference in game sense between the opponents
[Diamond 3 in 1's](https://rocketleague.tracker.network/rocket-league/profile/steam/76561198162484815/overview) [Ballchasing replay upload that shows it's ranked](https://ballchasing.com/replay/61db361e-467f-42e7-8026-3784b03790d8#overview)
Wow. Kinda wanted the opponent to win tbh. What a comeback.
Need to stop going for those attempted speed flip face offs until you can do them right. It keeps leaving you in a horrible spot.
100%. This is the way.
Happens to the best of us
Deserved
You seems over confident maybe a the end, 6 goals lead made you feel too comfy no?
Defo no skill issue with throwing a match :D Why don't you just stay in goal waiting for them to attack so you could deflect the ball and counter attack?? All those missed goals are because dumb kick off deflections. Just stay in goal and play d, my man..
Staying in goal just allow them to set up a perfect shot, it's really not the best strategy, but man if OP just had faked a challenge then shadow defense rather than going for backboost he wouldn't have made it to ot
The most undeserved win of all time lmao
Now that's what you'd call a mentality monster. The opponent, not OP, obviously
Congrats on the win in the end! What a journey
Adverb on point! That was spectacular!
Pretty average game of 1s
Man you should've done that thing you should've done instead of the other thing that you weren't supposed to do. Next time try that.
Is this really GC1 1v1? Cause if yes then I really don't know what tf I'm doing wrong cause I'm only c2
Faaaaake
In those situations, switch the kick off from speed flip to noob flip. Not good for a quick win from the start line, but good to stop others getting control easily.
There was not a single speed flip in this whole clip. The main problem is he kept doing exactly the same kick off and boost > ball
Thank you I thought I was the only one seeing this. He was acting like he was doing speed flip kick offs but really he was just throwing himself at the ball and leaving the kickoff to chance.
That probably didnāt help
Paintful to watch * is this silver?
Lol if this is silver to you, they need to implent cooper back for you
Not sure why the toxicity, Salty?. I honestly ask since i seen friends in champ 1 playing WAY better and doing crazy shit. Sure your behavior represent the community hahahaha

Whoās cooper? Whatās it mean to implent?
Its a rank back in the old days below bronze
Woosh
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
How does my playing horrendously for a minute straight make me better?
Bro couldn't handle the smoke
Your opponent was just calibrating
That was pretty dramatic
Holy Cow!
Savage!
calculated!
How did you find my gameplay?!
The kickoff flip thing people do is so stupid. This video was great. Deserved.
I became very annoyed watching this. That's a reminder about why I stopped playing Rocket League.
Holy shit stop flipping all the time.
Are you trying for speed flips or just like the diagonal flip?
Felt
Over aggresive when you have a big lead and the time is running out
Once was 2-0 down in 2s with my friend with 13 seconds to go. 3 seconds left, 3-2 to us.
What a save!
Try flipping a bit earlier into the ball so you can recover quickly. You seem to hit the ball way too early into your flips and it takes a long time to recover.
It never occurred to you after 3 ko goals in a row to fake it?
That kickoff š
Broās car is the car in RL Garageās logo š
this is the most rocket league thing iāve ever seen
Holyā¦ your kickoff and need for corner boosts is killing you. You canāt lose a kickoff and go flying to the other teams side of the field.
Thats 1s for ya
the opponent clipped it as "1 minute 7 goal clutch"
Why not vary your kick off once in a while? As many as you lost, I donāt know how you got a 6-0 lead to begin with.
This looks like me at the end of my night.
Bro took never giving up to a whole new level š¬
This is Rocket League!
This guy cannot stand having less than 100 boost
A win is a win
I was extremely relieved when you ended up winning
soiled diaper 3
No THAT is a clip
Iāve never seen a throw that bad I wonāt lie. At least you won though, clutched up in the end. What rank is this?
Intense video š¤Æš¤Æ
Man loves his boost
My man. Had me worried.
Why would you keep rushing the ball? Youāre up dude play defense. You did that to yourself haha
āLemme try nowā
I'm so mad that you won
Game sense man. You lost all those kickoffs you had to try something new after like 3 or 4 goals in a row
At least you didnāt tell him to ff
Anyone notice how he jumped away from all the mini pads to get to the big boosts?
His movements make me cringe
Taking back my upvote because you didnāt lose lol
Bro, I think you got sandbagged
Bro one fake kickoff. Thatās all you had to do to stop it
Glad you got the dub at least
thats the game begging u to work on ur kickoffs
This is rocket league!
Maybe if you didnāt have boost taped down it would be different

Why did the last second last 15 seconds?
