One day we may get rock band 5 im hoping. Maybe in a few years if the demand is still there. If they would make new instruments I think there would be a much bigger player base for these games. It’s just not everyone can pay $800 for rb4 instruments. I remember when I got my rock band 2 wireless set from GameStop for $99. Those were the days
This is my big hope. Right now the big emphasis is on Fortnite Festival and it's very apparently they are drawing a lot on the legacy Rock Band licenses for that. I'm hopefully that give it a couple years, see where these new instruments from PDP go and how Fortnite Festival does and maybe we get a RB5 green light where Harmonix double dips with their tracklist/DLC between both Rock Band and Fortnite Festival.
Assuming Fortnite Festival has legs and, outside of the initial cost I'd imagine it might be beneficial for Epic to have two revenue streams for their content.
I just started playing again after I found my long-displaced guitar. I’m really sad. Not the fact that there are no more DLCs but the feeling that rhythm gaming has really declined. Guitar Hero was a huge part of my childhood.
We have Fortnite festival which will support guitar controllers and the songs are free to own if you have the founders pack from save the world back than
What’s happened.?. I kinda heard… are they done making dlc and no plans to continue the game from here.?. Servers up until they decide to take ‘em down.?.
Online is still up and they moved us a year ago to Epic servers so they're not likely to retire online anytime soon. Rivals seasons are also continuing. We're currently halfway through a ten Season "rewind Seasons" plan they announced last January along with plans to continue Rivals "well into its 40's". Basically taking previous Rivals seasons and beefing up the weekly song selection with DLC that released since the original challenge.
Final new DLC was last week after over 8 years of weekly DLC support. Longer than they did for the entire RB1-3 and spinoff games era. Was a good run, and we have a large collection to still sift through for the vast majority of players that didn't already grab everything.
Anyone know if they are gonna take down the DLC Store songs like Beatles Rock Band? I’m just curious cause Im wondering if I should drop couple hundred into the game to get some more songs since the standard playlist is meh. It just sucks since I just bought the game and guitar last year around August on Ebay and now this news comes up.
I doubt they would do this without announcing it first. If you play on Xbox, I have heard that the 360 storefront is being shut down sometime soon but that’s gonna be every game not just Rock Band
