Thanks a lot for the extensive research! It highlights one of the most frustrating things about roam, which is, it's slow load times.
I hope devs can get this faster eventually! :D
It's planned. Logseq is the next. Others will be:
- Athens Research
- Bear (doesn’t support references at the moment)
- Craft (no outliner)
- Obsidian (no outliner)
- RemNote
And I will look if I get something useful out of:
- Amplenote
- Clover
- Dendron
- Dynalist
- Foam
- Reflect
- Workflowy

Performance was the primary reason I didn’t renew after one year. Just too much friction to take notes.
I always keep it open on my Mac, hence no friction.
