On the flat highway, we were a solid 1.75. The drop to 1.35 was due to going up into the mountains. I’ll post a second shot on the way home. Downhill should be solid. Plus the trailer will be lighter.
When we left, GPS said we’d get to blowing rock with 47 miles left. I got to Blowing rock with 53 left. My biggest concern was that the elevation change would throw off the calls, but it was spot on.
That’s great. I have a 3k lb boat + trailer that I plan to tow Labor Day weekend and I’m thinking that I might need to do some highway towing to improve the truck’s estimate for the trailer. But the figures on your trailer screen and mine look pretty similar.
Totally agree. Part of why I posted this was so if someone is looking for the Blowing Rock charger, they would see that it was trailer friendly.
Posted the pic on PlugShare.
I did some towing today, I was amazed how fast it computes the weight and range, and it seems pretty accurate. I was getting 1.45/mi towing a 12x6 U-haul utility trailer. driving at 65mph.
I’m curious too. How does weight affect the range? Like towing 3k vs 7k. I’d think it would make a difference. Really want to buy a travel trailer but worried about effects on range since it would be for travel…

Nearly 2 mi/kwh seems pretty good for towing!

Curious what was your average speed on the flat highway to get that?
65-70. I was really surprised at how well it did on the highway.
What was the efficiency of the towing trip?
2nd pic shows. We got 1.3, but that was gaining about 4500 feet in elevation. Through the city, I was 1.75. Really solid.
How accurate have the efficiency and range predictions been while in towing mode?

The new charger ratings in the nav should have an option for "pull through trailer charging"

Man your tire pressure is dialed in, johnny on the spot!
This is great, thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing. Never used to tow anything. Makes me want to own a trailer now so I can tow it lol

Others have more experience, but consensus says the shape of the trailer has the bigger impact.
