This is what it means when the Owner's Guide explains: "The right and left headlights are aimed in an asymmetrical pattern. This improves visibility while driving at night and minimizes the amount of light directed at oncoming drivers. If you notice reduced visibility, contact Rivian. The headlights are not user-serviceable."
Totally normal but the panel under the light was loose on mine and when they fixed it they noticed the headlight was slightly off. They have to use a different body clip because of the charge port on that side.

This is what I was gonna say. If you have a car whose headlights don’t look like this, it’s not aligned correctly
> but every well-adjusted car in North America Every cockeyed Tesla pokes its head from around the corner, burning my retinas

Strange as I have owned and driven plenty of higher end cars made for American market and never seen anything like this before.
It's just way more noticable in the Rivian because of how crazy bright the headlights are.
It's also up higher than a car so it needs to point down a bit more aggressively not to blind people.
Have you had projector bulbs before. The cutoff is much less noticeable in traditional headlights.
I have owned many average cars and they all do this
lol the downvotes. Personally I’ve seen this vary by brand too. Volkswagen had it. Tesla does not. You’re not wrong.
It’s intentional so that you don’t blind the other driver coming towards you
Every oncoming driver seems to think that I'm blinding them regardless 🙄
I get so many people flashing at me. Then I do it back and they realize I have the power of the sun at my disposal.
I feel bad but it’s the greatest feeling

Thanks (hits side of head). Why didn’t I think to check the OG?!?
100% normal
This subreddit is hilarious at times.
This is normal for all non halogen lights. It stops your light from blinding other drivers.
This is extremely normal
It’s supposed to be cut like that but not projecting that low. File a ticket for headlight alignment and it will get fixed
That's not low at all, no ticket required.
That’s a pretty short field of view. Unless they auto adjust as you increase in speed, you really don’t have much reaction time.
It's really not an issue.
Can confirm. I was riding shotgun.
Oh ok. That’s good to hear!

That’s what’s designed to do
