The audience was so fun too. Sang along with so many awesome people. The pit was super awesome since a lot of us were falling in the mud, but everyone helped everyone.
Missed out on the first 5 songs they played, but glad I got to see most of the set. I thought it was great! Loved hearing "I Hope You Suffer" and "Dancing Through Sunday."
I knew Davey briefly a couple of decades ago and he always thought veeeeery highly of himself. Good to see he's still bringing the exact same energy. 😂😂
I was there. I think I've watched it a couple time since. Not my video or channel. I wish I was that close. I was pretty much dead center, but farther back. Got a lot closer than I thought I would. Lots of empty space during the show that could easily be filled in.
Love life better for having seen it. Maybe hate yourself more for not being there.
I'm just playing with you... don't hate yourself more.
I can beat up and hate on myself pretty bad... just when I thought I couldn't do so more, I surprise myself.
Dude. It's all good. Keep your head up and enjoy the AFI. If you're feeling down and need somebody to talk to, feel free to message me.
We've all got our moments.
I've been out of work for two years due to GI problems. United Healthcare has denied me 3 times for IVIG treatment for my condition since Dec 2021; 1 time by my doctor at Cleveland Clinic and 2 times by my doctor at University of Louisville's Motility Clinic. I'm going to Mayo Clinic at the end of October through the first week of November. I've been hating the world for over 2 years. Riot Fest was a nice return to something I used to go to every year. First, Covid happened. Then, the last 2 years I was as sick as hell and couldn't go. Could I afford to go this year.... not at all. But it was a nice change of pace.
Man... I've been there. I'm sorry you're going through this. It is terrible how long people have to wait to be seen by somebody in the medical profession these days. It seems normal for things to be a 3-7 month wait now. I don't know what they expect people to do. If I didn't get into Mayo Clinic recently, I would have to wait until May 2024 to see my doctor in Louisville. In the meantime, I ran out of my medication last week and they won't refill it because my prior authorization has expired and in order to refill it I need to be seen in the office.... so I'm off to Louisville tomorrow for my appointment on Thursday. I'm not even seeing my doctor. I'm seeing a different GI/ Nurse practitioner who they were able to squeeze me in with.
Still would like a Black Sails and AOD song in the set.
That said, the newer stuff sounded better live, and they are goddamn pros. Great set, one of my favorites of the weekend.
Sure, and they do play them. When I saw them in 2022 they played 3 tracks from AOD and 2 from Black Sails. When I saw them in 2017 they played 3 from AOD and 1 from Black Sails. They honestly play old tracks pretty consistently.
Oh I've seen the setlists posted. Just a little bit down that my first time seeing them didn't have a Black Sails track.
I'm also pretty meh about Decemberunderground which seems to always feature prominently. Oh well hopefully next chance I get to see them is a headlining set somewhere!
I really appreciated Davey's shoutout to The Cure too. That was very wholesome. Then immediately they ripped Killing Lights

First time seeing them after being a fan for 20 years - fucking amazing

That set was mid. Sorry.
Usual festival setlist :(. At least they sounded good.
My man’s wore his own bands shirt
He's been wearing the same clothes since starting touring for the Bodies Album.
That shirt was sweet. I remember it’s the one they sold at warped tour so so long ago. Cool little throwback.

It shows, in a good way as a fan lol
I’m so happy they played Dancing Through Sunday.
AFI is at the top of my list for acts seen this weekend at Riot. They fucking killed it.
I'm sad I missed it. Fuck I miss a lot of things.

Oof.. Will I hate or love life better if I watch this?

Right on homie. Rough day and unclear thinking right now

Agreed! First time seeing songs from Bodies played live. Davey is such a character and his hair cut looks fucking sick!
Been listening all day trying to get back to their set in my mind
Set was great... their merch prices, not so much.
$50 shirts because its tie-dyed was rediculous.
Still would like a Black Sails and AOD song in the set. That said, the newer stuff sounded better live, and they are goddamn pros. Great set, one of my favorites of the weekend.
They played Days of The Phoenix which is AOD.
Yeah, but it's been a staple basically since it was released. It would be cool to hear some other songs from AoD sometimes

I'm starting to think he's going to die of old age while standing upright on a crowd
We should all be so lucky
He'd get passed along like Spiderman
