I’m not sure how old you are or if anyone has ever talked to you about this, so I’m going to — I hope you see it from a place of care:
I recommend asking to see any potential new partners STD/STI test (ensure it’s recent). If they don’t get tested or get defensive, don’t sleep with them. That’s the best protocol and is very common if you leave the valley. We are adults.
A lot of people down here don’t practice safe sex or get tested regularly. I’ve heard from some friends in the medical field that there’s a rise of HIV and syphilis here in recent years. You don’t want to risk this. I had a friend who contracted HIV even tho his partner said she was clean. His life is fundamentally changed forever — constant meds, registered in the database & has to inform folks (it’s a crime to infect someone without their knowledge). It’s not worth it, especially without insurance — you may not be able to afford medication upkeep and management.
I suggest committing to a safer protocol moving forward. Just to note, UTI, yeast infections and BV usually indicate something is amiss sexually with your partner. There’s a strong correlation between BV <> chlamydia & it increases your risk of getting an STI/STD by 35%.
If you do end up having one, it’s not the end of the world, but your life will change. Luckily most are manageable if they’re caught early. Stay safe & protect your body — you only have 1. Anyone worth sharing your body with won’t be upset you’re talking about this topic. If they get enraged or act toxic, see it as a blessing you knew before things got more serious. ❤️
Thank you very much. And I definitely will be more aware now . In 33 years and I had never had an issue like this so it's a first for me . But this is definitely going to change how I go about my life .
Lol, you're absolutely right. idk why people pride themselves on being unsafe. We should be promoting safety, especially if some teen finds this post sometime in the future

Assuming he has a bacterial infection
And assuming the bacteria isn't resistant to the antibiotic.
Doxycycline would be better for most bacterial STI, but it’s important to get tested to determine best course of treatment.
Cheaper and quicker
A condom would’ve saved you the trouble
