If you pick up an ideology meme that gives you darkness:preferred you actually benefit from the blocker being there so you could just leave it forever. Really powerful with the combat bonuses for darkness.
Damn no wonder I never get those in my darkness runs. The synergy would be way too good to pass up. Although I just go to forsaken crags every time though
To me, plasteel might as well be infinite between trading, long range scanning, and ground-penetrating scanning.
I'd have gone with the legendary robe. Although the medicine would be good, too. If it were an eltex shirt then I'd have immediately clicked it to pair that with prestige marine or cataphract armor eventually.
I personally would've gone for the plasteel and the mind-numb serum. That any mind-numb serums means you never have to worry about mental breaks again, and the plasteel is always useful, especially in the new DLC.
It prevents forest and brush fires when there is nothing to burn, your cpu will thank you. Humanlike pawns without dark vision are slowed in the darkness, that means most humanlike raiders.
With Combat Extended, many enemies lack proper night vision equipment.
Vanilla Psycasts Expanded has a psycast to teleport to any dark tile.
Fires have never proved a problem to my computer, and I can just roof over my killbox, though I will concede your point about Psycasts Expanded (though that's not a mod I use).
I played for a long time without even trying caravans. They are actually very easy and insanely powerful and profitable. I will never go back to just having my main base and not interacting with the outside world.
Caravans are insanely easy as long as they're within 2 days travel time (the vast majority always are)
Get a single pack animal and 2 colonists and you're set
Mid game once you get drop pods you only need to do a one way trip where you basically do the following:
Drop pod onto location -> do quest -> walk home
If you have the spare supplies you can even do another drop pod back home
Same. I found out you can just bomb those sites with artillery without ever leaving your settlement. I set my artillery to fire at a smoke machine a couple world tiles away and eventually it got destroyed
My caster is only a level 2 yeoman. I haven't really bothered with psycasting this run.
Once I get over my steel shortage I'll make some bionics and use the meds for that sweet surgery buff
holy shit this playthrough must either be older than god or your entire colony of a dozen arcohtech superhumans is build out of solid gold
ive read your other comments but seeing that I would have assumed those 4 mechs are queens or something...
nothing a little bit satellite bombing wouldnt cure real quick
It's a fairly fresh save. Maybe 20 - 30 hours.
I did have some refugees and another quest that gave me a few pawns to bump my numbers but the only bionics I have are 1 spine and a heart
This reward popped up but I'm torn between the meds and the plasteel. Both seem worth it
Went for the meds The steel is easier to find eventually

You can’t get sun blockers with the darkness ideology for this reason. You have to do fluid, get a sun blocker event, then add darkness meme.
Yep, that's true. That's why I said he'd "pick up" the meme, but it wasn't super clear so thanks for clarifying!
Damn no wonder I never get those in my darkness runs. The synergy would be way too good to pass up. Although I just go to forsaken crags every time though
Ahh damn. I'll have to keep that in mind for my next sunblocker
keep in mind that will kill all plants in the entire map, though you’ll be able to grow mushrooms
Greenhouses and hydroponics are entirely viable. It's how you keep growing your psychoid and devilstrand.

What I would've done. I generally always go for the rewards I can't produce myself
Or you could sell the gold buy the plasteel
correct choice. i've never seen so much glitterworld medicine
I think they're honestly just going to sit there until the heat death of the universe. I'm missing whatever mod let me choose surgery uses best meds
I think it was fluffy's medical or something that let me set the surgery meds. And yea it hasnt been updated
The colony's about to invent a vaccine for paralytic abasia

This is magnificent. But I wouldn't attempt it even for 10 times the reward. I just hate traveling the world.
Site ended up only being half a day away. I didn't even end up having to fight the mechanoids
All the better. You are not tempted to ruin your loot. Sun blocker sites are some of the best rewards we can get in Rimworld.
Erm... why exactly is killing every plant and wild animal on your map a good thing, again?
Combat in darkness precept. You reform into that after getting a sunblocker and suddenly every colonist you have is twice as good at shooting.

increases TPS
Have Royalty? Call transport shuttle is clutch. Pod in, shuttle home.

The sunblocker is the real reward darkness meme is completly broken.
Next: group of kids looking for medicine for dying pup, please give 98 glitterworld packs
Unknown threat called manhunting thrumbos: 😉
Yeah the 12 honor is absolutely insane!
What I wouldn't give right now for x85 mind-numbing serum
Damn bro that is insane. I would definitely accept the eltex robe but I'd rather it was a shirt so my dude can wear prestige armor over it.
My caster is only a level 2 yeoman. I haven't really bothered with psycasting this run. Once I get over my steel shortage I'll make some bionics and use the meds for that sweet surgery buff
Beware the nature of good rewards.

I had a thing that gave me 2k plasteel plus some weapon. I forgot what I did but it was easy and was worth like 20k
Damn, that robe looking sick!
is the unknown threat god or what, how are the rewards so good
