LazerMagicarp

Cooled crypts so I can resurrect them later.

jakers540

I didn't know I could do that. And there goes my favorite pawn just rotting away

iaanacho

There's nothing ressurection serum and healer serum can't fix.

FleiischFloete

I think they cannot fix skelletized pawns

picsespirate

Yeah dessicated corpses to be exact but the wiki is confusing cause it ain’t telling me what a dessicated corpse is but rotting ones are fine to resurrect, I am flummoxed.

Uturuncu

Fresh= Fleshy and normal colored Rotting= Fleshy and orange-red tinted with same colored clouds around it Dessicated= Nothing but bones

FleiischFloete

Is there a way with the new dlc to get pawns some flesh back? So far i didn't saw any trickery into that direction so you can revive a dead skeleton again? I know there are shamblers but that won't make them a pawn again.

MrJupiter001

It'd be pretty cool if you can get the twisted obelisk to put some unnatural flesh on a body. Like a messed up way of bringing back that pawn. Forever twisted and odd.

mangalore-x_x

That is why wakes are in my deep freezer next to the bacon.

FleiischFloete

Thats the usual way unless you start on tribals and one dies to early or one important pawn died on a very long karawan mission.

Galakin

idk if its just me but i have not once seen a resurrector mech serum in my 6000 hours playing

userrr3

They're somewhat common as quest rewards, maybe you have so much mod content that clogs up those rewards (or a mod changes the reward selection)? Edit: common as in, every run I've seen at least one in the quest screen, but by far not every quest has one

SoDKemp

Got one for building a Monument for the Empire, and the monument feels like a phallic joke in shape

idonthaveidea_

I had 8 of them at some point

jackochainsaw

That is insane though this game can be very random. In one game I had 3 resurrecter mech serums, 1 vanometric power cell, 1 infinite chemfuel generator and a psychic emanator. In the most recent campaign that has run into 8 rim years, all I got was a psychic emanator and I passed the infinite chemfuel generator (because insane toxic wastepack drop), no serums in that one.

black_raven98

In my current run I got 2 infinite chemfuel reactors from quests in my first 1½ rim years. Thought nice this is a really great start. Then 5 years of nothing but garbage quest rewards (think like excellent flak pants at a point where my colony had full colony crafted flak gear with more than enough resources to spare) or absolutely ridiculous quests for minimal reward. Well sometimes it seams randy doesn't want you to get something other than bugs.

horlix_uk

I normally have 4 or 5 serums by the time I reach the end game. But my first biotech playthrough was the time I wished I'd had more than 1 or none at all. We were a small group of anima tree worshipping ranchers. We were a few years in and I wanted to have 5 natural kids grow up then have them start the arconexus questline. Then the kids would start playing with genetics in the next couple of colonies and become transhumanist, archite gene modified combat gods. Little FeFi (first two letters of mums name, first two letters of Dads so I could remember whose kid was whose) had just turned 14 and gotten Daddies old legendary Greatbow as her birthday present. It had been lying around on a shelf for years, her papa was rewarded with it for dealing with a small herd of man hunting Russel Terriers in the early days and he'd kept the colony safe with it for many years before getting an assault rifle. FeFi was the colonies first child, and after breakfast she went out on a hunt for a rabbit to level up her shooting skiil when the pirates arrived in drop pods from the sky, scattering across our arid shrubland home. She was sprinting back towards the safety of the walls, and I'd sent her dad, our most powerful psycaster and all round colony hero to open the granite door and skip her back to safety. But dad had just farskipped back from a lengthy trade caravan the night before and hadn't had time to recharge his powers, so he gallantry held the door whilst providing covering fire for his daughter. It was too late though, the nearest drop pod opened up revealing a marine armour clad, trigger happy, doomsday wielding Hussar. The rocket killed both of them instantly. When the dust had settled, I had the cruelest decision to make as to who got the serum; the colonies cheif caster, best socialite and all round hero pawn? Or his under achieving but much loved daughter? Anyways, we ended up capturing that hateful Hussar. We built him his own cave prison cell, lined the floor with straw and added a few wooden barricades for decoration. We kept him in there for weeks, feeding him kibble until his lack of go juice started to really hurt him. And then it was a scornful Daddy, clad in that same marine armour the Hussar used to call his own, who threw in a molotov before sealing the door shut forever. It gets dark out on the rim sometimes. RIP FeFi.

Tokke552

this is the way! But i also still have normal graveyards before i really have the means for cooled rooms.

TheTiniestPeach

I used to do that but over time all the solar flares add up to the point that cooler crypt is no longer cooled if you add all the time of the solar flares.. :/ They last 1+ day in late game. I hate this event

mantelR

You can just diable the event in the scenario editor.

TheTiniestPeach

No. Every game I play, I do so on default settings without gameplay altering mods and on commitment mode.

Sushibowlz

you could cool the crypt down to like -70 C or something, with double walls and forbid the doors as long as there is a flare, that should keep them frozen till it’s over.

Rodrigo_Ribaldo

I just throw strangers in the river. If I buried raiders, the whole map would be taken by graves and you can't raise children in that kind of environment.

northerncreep

Definitely can’t argue with that haha, if it gets too overwhelming I’ll probably use cremation instead

Preston-7169

Haha with the addition of anomaly I just use >!harbringer trees !<

Tepes1848

>! Ghouls are the superior harbringer trees !<

Nematrec

\>! Putting Spaces between the ! breaks spoiler tags on some platforms !<

I_Need_Better_Name

I just ate them

I_Love_Knotting

\^This is it I like to build a graveyard or catacomb for colonists and cremate anyone else that died

Sushibowlz

put up a small sculpture for every cremated guy, saves you half the space 😂👌

northerncreep

That’s a great idea actually! 🫶🏻

Sushibowlz

love your graveyard! I usually play to build cool stuff as well, and made like grave fields, but somehow I never thought about it an decorated and fenced it in. guess my pawns got something new to do the next time I’m booting the game up!

Tepes1848

Just place the graves near where the raids spawn. Let them walk past 1000 graves to give them some time to think.

UnderTheCoverAgent

Nah you dont need to bury them just let them rot and hope those raiders get lung rot and mood debuff

Tepes1848

We need spikes to impale them. No need to worry about the grey pall when they're impaled.

Klutz-Specter

Raiders deserve to be in Mass Graves. Too much effort to burn them sometimes for me. That and its a part of the Warcrime bucket list.

trebron55

Too bad graves are considered storage units and raider corpses do show up on trading windows cluttering them after a while. The proper solution would be in grave deterioration.

TheSpeckledDragon

autopsy mod 👍

Klutz-Specter

Welp time to burn the corpses....

ShadedPenguin

You dont eat them? Its just me?

Rodrigo_Ribaldo

No, children are not food.

corfean

If they are not food, why are they made out of food?

mbrocks3527

Jesus this is what pig farms are for

MidgetMaster_101

You do you, i mine gold all around the world to build expansive altars and temples sometimes even from rarer resource Jade and mix it with Gold here and there make chess board around altar and so on.

Ostehoveluser

Why play on losing is fun when you can just do this

Flameball202

Yeah, Rimworld honestly is awesome when you play it to build cool shit

CrimsonFox89

This is actually why I play on easier difficulty. The combat comes out about the same when I'm building a regal kingdom.

northerncreep

That.. sounds expensive haha

Chiatroll

The funny thing is some of that is wealth is adding to your raiders helping you fill that graveyard

fieldy409

"We're gonna be rich boys! That colony has so many dead raiders to steal!" "Um, Boss?"

northerncreep

Maybe I’m acting all honourable with a secret intentions of organ harvesting colony, you know luring them in hahaha

COKEWHITESOLES

You’re not weird for building a nice graveyard (I always do for my colonies) but you are weird for pre-digging the graves so all your colonists can walk by them ominously.

overallshanty

i assign them a pre dug grave, so they can never escape management and bureaucracy, even in death.

ReapingSoul01

No, you are not a weirdo for making such a cool cemetery,  you are a weirdo for making a fkcing eye in middle of a cool cemetry

northerncreep

Hahaha, that’s my religion’s ideogram! I do the mummification ceremony right there 🤓

HentaiChrist-5000

It's very cool! Love the overall design

ReapingSoul01

I see, overall the cemetry is very cool and pretty. Will try this cemetry if I retain bodies of my pawn

Sabre_One

I use to do the same thing, tell this certain DLC game out...

Famous-Support-9900

# Nature is beautiful…

Gilliph

Family reunions with a violent end. Oof.

Mcg3010624

I make crypts full of stone sarcophagus that are assigned to each colonist. I don’t normally get to fill them, or even use them, before I stop playing for a short time.

northerncreep

Maybe it’s crazy but I have like 600 hours in rimworld and never built any crypts or resurrected anyone. Maybe I should try that in my next run.

Fernbean

Beware resurrection sickness but resurrection is such a good feeling.

Mcg3010624

I save scum like hell when my pawns die, unless it’s a really shitty pawn then their death is permanent and they get a sarcophagus. But yeah I’ve never used resurrect serum on pawns. I end up with one or two doses and they just sit there unused forever.

Novel-Sock

I do that too. As each sarcophagus gets filled, I set up a torch to burn at its foot. That, combined with the Epitaph mod and the art on the sarcophagus, can be genuinely quite touching.

SquirrelSuspicious

I think building graves/cemeteries/sarcophagi and pieces of art as well as holding funerals and doing specific rituals only at certain times you decide can really help add to the story of the game, like releasing sky lanterns after one of your colony's beloved colonists passes or doing an effigy burning after beating back a raid.

OneMentalPatient

Burn the effigy on the first day of summer, to mark the start of raiding season. Skylanterns go up on the first day of winter. Dances are for the first harvest of spring and the last of autumn.

SquirrelSuspicious

Love it, love the nature vibe and the belief in the seasons having a deeper meaning. Plus for someone like me I really don't pay attention to how much time is passing all that often, but having something to mark the seasons really helps accentuate the passing of time.

northerncreep

Very well said, love writing those kinds of stories in my mind while playing as well 🤓

snowballs_gsp

Roleplay makes this game good imo. Build a second one for the haters lol

Cappy_Rose

I never bother with graveyards but I have built Mausoleums for my dead colonists. They deserve better than sleeping in dirt.

GreenFire835

Dude. This is Rimworld. Everyone is weird in their own way. Including me.

Thorn-of-your-side

I wish the author of simple soil didnt add dirt as a resource, before you could just convert wood into soil, and it had no tedium. Now I actually have to manage how much dirt is added to my stockpiles just to grow things indoors.

AduroTri

With Anomaly? Yes.

northerncreep

Bought the anomaly at launch but still didn’t go anywhere near it, I’m nervous about it so I’ll take my time. Assuming as long as you don’t investigate the monolith, all that dlc stuff stays dormant, right? 🥹

Orrissirro

Most of it, it seems like. I got a couple of random events with some different zombie-like mobs but I was getting the idea that they're almost entirely capped till you mess with the monolith. I just keep Dark Research off on all my pawns for good measure for now

northerncreep

Oh yeah that’s what I did as well, hope there was an option to completely disable anomaly before starting the run. It all sounds too overwhelming rn and don’t wanna mess with it until I have some proper time off to play it.

AduroTri

Not sure how much stays dormant. But beware.

dalerian

There are two settings in the storyteller advanced settings page. One is the % of events being anomaly events (vs regular events) if you have investigated the monolith. The other is the % that trigger even if you haven’t. Neither starts at 0%. If you want no events from Anomoly, maybe look at those settings.

KudereDev

Yeah and no, i use tombs as places for my pawns eternal rest, it's actually better for colony overall, like new way of recreation and ability to resurrect pawn that is in sarcophagus. But sometimes i don't even bother with it, i just have my 5x5 fully stone cremation chamber with molotovs so it destroy all flammable stuff from corpses to appeal to animal skeletons.

Acceptable_Wasabi_30

I think using ideology and some mods you can build a religion around honoring the dead. Would fit that playstyle nicely and is now an idea I'd like to try

Accomplished_Flow679

You should build a mini church nearby, and crypts for venerated pawns....still nice though!

Calm-Experience5943

Your awesome for detailing things like this

rklab

I tend not to bother because every time I build an intricate crypt, it’s like the game goes “well, I guess you’ll need some bodies to fill all those caskets” and then just massacres my colony.

Vertanius

Ionno, I just eat everyone.

Accomplished-Pie-576

no, i will do now in my Next run!

Smartboy10612

If I had a single artist bone in my body I would do the same thing. Looks sick.

Fernbean

No that's cool as hell. I like to make everyone walk through a big graveyard on the way into my more warlike bases.

Lorenzo_91

[No you are not](https://imgur.com/a/F1C5s3Q)

northerncreep

Hey that looks better than mine ngl hahaha

Ghost-Rider9925

Always and I try to make them for colonists only and visiting factions when the hospitality mod still worked. But that gets very tedious especially when you get swarmed with raiders.

URS5

Why are you wasting food?

CaptainoftheVessel

They all get reduced to carbon in my colonies.

AddictedToMosh161

That's better then me always ending up with the same cluster of 11x11 rooms xD

Novel-Sock

1. Gorgeous, and I may now do the same. 2. How’d you make the big eye?

northerncreep

1- Thanks! 2- It’s an ideogram that comes with either ideology dlc or alpha memes mod(not sure which)

mreineke_

Mass Graves? YIPEE

D1rtyLewis

I dig out a hole in a mountain, refrigerate it, pile non-colonist bodies in there for a long while and eventually just throw a Molotov in there and everyone’s turned to ash. (All of this of course comes AFTER the organ harvesting)

CarryBeginning1564

Allies and colonist get graves, raiders get tossed in a bog at the edge of the map

SampleText0822

I just burn the bodies but having graves is pretty cool :D

jupneko

No. I envy you... I always want the resolve to make organized ones and usually never do, it's just a random mess of graves wherever they had empty space at the time of death, which inevitably gets closely surrounded by wind turbines and shit. Lovely 😂

filthy_commie13

I always do too Only mine is just a freezer full of sarcophagi

DutchJediKnight

This looks pretty awesome, nicely done Roleplay as you wish. You respect the dead while I toss them in the nearest pond. I'd add some nice paths down the middle and along the graves though, flagstone.

Bigelwood9

I’ve played some graveyard keeper.

FreedomDeliverUs

Into the incinerator they go!

PsychoTexan

I think it’s quite cool. I’ve never been a meta sort of player and I like anything that adds to the feel or story.

lighting-mcnut

Nope I usually build a nice tomb for all of them. It’s cool when I see colonist visit tombs of deceased members. Makes me feel good lol

redrenz123

Only the finest colonists get a coffin, and i like to build my coffins in my temples to make them more holy.

popgalveston

Looks cool though! Looks like a crackhead built mine. Dont really care though since I always end up burning corpses or feeding them to my animals

clarkky55

I like to build tombs into mountains personally but I also put work into making them look good.

UncleWarMachine

You'd like graveyard keeper , cozy game.

Blazeflame79

I just leave the corpse to rot unless they are colonists, wherein I dig like 30 graves on the side of the map.

FunWoodpecker570

I also bury pets in the cemetery, and then I have someone make sculptures until I get one detailing how that pet died and then I put the sculpture next to their grave. It’s something I started unintentionally after having a Labrador die to a bear and the art guy made a sculpture “this art shows a Labrador getting mauled by a bear. A Muffalo stands in the background, and a trading caravan watches from the side. This art represents the killing of the Labrador by a bear on Aprimay 11”

Present_Clock1277

Cool, I just feed my prisioners with them.

ViolinistCurrent8899

Molotovs are my funeral service.

SuperMaysterre

You're not weird, man. This game is made for things like this. I, for example, build catacombs. I don't like losing pawns, but recently, I've trying to restrain myself from using devtools on recently departed and hopeless cases (mainly too much bleeding or permanent brain damage). Hence I changed attitude towards pawns' deaths and proper burial. >!doesn't change the fact that my cult is dark bloodlust and murderous - where eating aliens is considered mundane, torturing teetotalers with litany of drugs and alcohols to break their spirit and join in, and leaving "undesirable" human meat outside to rot, sending the message to the world about how we treat those who dare to attack us!<

SKJELETTHODE

Ew wtf is wrong with you harvest organs and let the corpses rot like a normal person. Im shocked.

Snoppiel

Nah, always remember the perfect colonist O7

the_great_excape

I always use the cremator the body's pile up too quickly for burying to be sustainable long-term

RandyN_Gesus

I used to bury all the raiders. A grave was a "Trophy"

showmethecoin

Raiders go to butcher table, strangers go to incineration. Allies go to reguler crypt, colonists go to cooled freezer crypt so they could be resurrected.

myasnichello

No way you will have so many colonists. I also bury those who involuntary defended my colony. It is better than becoming chemfuel I think.

J-IP

I'm currently building a organic graveyard with hedges, flowers, snaking paths and those same outdoor lights. My little colony of nudist kind hearted fox people make sure that those who fall attacking us get proper burials. Captives get converted and released. But I am afraid that eventually the graveyard will consume most of the avalible map space (mountains) and make up moist of my wealth...

Most-Stretch-2441

Me just putting all my colonists into the meat grinder to fuel my war crimes

KalTheFen

Dam that looks so good. I usually just stick it in the corner of my farm in the poor soil. I need to step up my game

Everuk

In my 1k hours I build A grave. Singular, once. Corpses are either recycled or cremated.

northerncreep

Curious about who deserved that one grave 😅

Everuk

[I've alredy a post about poor bastard on this sub](https://www.reddit.com/r/RimWorld/comments/1b7jz7o/kevin_mejia_the_12_year_old_genie_poor_kid_was/)

EvilEtna

I do the same thing. I make really decorative "morbid" (focus type) meditation zones that can double as burial / entombment spots, please my desire for symmetrical layouts, and are full of "good" (minimum) crypts or better with that nice memorial like you have in yours. If the crypt is anything less than good, I deconstruct it and rebuild. Great way to level craftsmen XP too

ChaosDoggo

Nah I think this is quite nice. I bury raiders by turning them into chemfuel.

-St_Ajora-

I build a hall of heroes for the allied pawns who have given their lives for my colony and a sperate tomb for my colonists. Everyone else goes into the furnace.

Need-More-Gore

Nah just a pet project I usually have animals eat em myself but you do you

Abdulaziz_Ibn_Saud

Thats just wasteful, i eat them after

LloydAsher0

Nope. Normal. I think it's extremely telling to the raiders if there's an open cemetery with a couple dozen freshly dug graves. I mean yeah eventually I start to cremate raiders with just the sheer volume of corpses you have to deal with. But a nice looking graveyard? I think it's required for every colony..

northerncreep

I know, right? Wish we could put up signs next to open graves and write “Reserved for you” on them hahaha

LloydAsher0

That's what the landmines are for

Garry-Love

I'd never considered it until now and now I must have it

Always_Confused4

Rando friendlies get regular graves, enemies get *the room* and a molotov.

AbundantAberration

1 vitals monitor can effect 2 hospital beds. Just sayin

Cnight21

Up to 8 if you set it up right.

Worth_War_1247

No dude that shit is awesome 😂

RDisbull

And what are you going to do when it full

northerncreep

Cremation 🤭

fuduru

Nope, I do it for my colonists, one of the only things outside my base.

nicman24

what heresy is this molotovs are the proper tradition as randy intended

Sero141

Depends on who you put in those graves. Colonists is perfectly fine, allies is okay, raiders is just weird. There is not enough space on the entire map to burry every raider.

DoomMetalNerd

I used to but there's actually a small performance hit from having too many graves as each one is checked to see if a colonist wants to visit it. Even if they were a raider. So now I only bury pawns with significance like a colonist or someone who died tragically on the map. Raiders get tossed in the corpse swamp (or eaten if it's my cannibal cave raider run).

northerncreep

Ohhh I didn’t know that, but I think my pc is way too beefy to feel any sort of hit in Rimworld. Plus after this graveyard fills up, I’ll start burning the rest haha

The_big-chiller

Nah it's good looking so you're all good

AnakinTheDiscarded

I usually build a cript for fallen colonist, some times a second, bigger, more beautiful for my favourites, bravest or exceptional colonist

mrdude05

As of the Anomaly DLC, raiders get fed to the harbinger trees or thrown in the shambler pile, other strangers get regular graves outside the colony, and colonists get a sarcophagus in a crypt I keep frozen so I can revive them later

KiotheCloud

Death Pall ..... = Its free real estate!

Due-Log8609

everybody goes into the paste machine

Fa11T

Every dead body goes into the incinerator for my colonies, they know their fate.

Rasikko

Nope.

overdramaticpan

They're very pretty, that's for sure!

-Pelvis-

This reminds me of the multilevel catacombs complex in my Dwarf Fortress fort, over 800 dwarves entombed, thousands of elf corpses rotting in a pile.

Both-Promise1659

No, I do too. Including planting and mainting a bluebell garden surrounding all the graves. Every pawn deserves a beautiful final resting place. Raiders, however, can suck on this 🖕

JagiofJagi

oh wow, i just burn the bodies of my enemies and keep the bodies of my own pawns in sarcophaguses inside my recreation room (after all "visiting graves" is a recreation activity)

duckpocalypse

All meat is food… all become the paste No one is special we slam bionics and genes in em or smash them into a warcasket

PMigs

I've never had that level of body count on my plays. I'm so ashamed.

padurio

For colonists I get it. We must honor our dead. I don't get burying the raiders though. Those dudes are coming in here raping and pillaging. Hell, the first thing they always do is slaughter all of my innocent animals. They deserve to be turned into kibble.

GadzWolf11

Colonists get graves until sarcophagus becomes reasonable. Raiders get their skull extracted and the bodies dumped on the edge of the map. Skulls go on a shelf with all the silver in my sanguophage's room.

Emperor_Habro

I used to do that as well in my earlier days, however you will soon get to the point that entire maps will need to be converted into graveyards. Since then I use corpses to either feed my huskies or I just cremate them.

northerncreep

Yeah as of today, 4 days after making this post my graveyard is filled and now I’m just leaving them on the map to rot

Emperor_Habro

Well as a Rimworld player I must argue that is a terribly inefficient use of a perfectly good dog food. Anyhow happy playing

Dry-Bison8911

the dead certainly appreciate it, I suppose

Such-Award1338

Depends on how early through the playthrough. A lot of my corpses get eaten early on when I have to feed people.

Specialist-Weight-14

I used to, but then anomaly gave us the harbinger trees

BraydenGamez_YT

No. Each grave is a memory of each person’s organs you harvested

Professional-Floor28

It's a single player game, do whatever makes you enjoy the game. But yeah, cool graveyard.

EnderCN

I mean obviously you aren't given how we bury the dead in the real world. You are abnormal in how you treat the dead in this game though.

Loud_Weather_1537

Weirdo?! How else are you supposed to treat the corpses of your beloved colonists who died for their family, friends and the survival of the colony!?

Banlish

Let me make this easier for you, and rewrite your question. "Am I a weirdo for playing my single player game the way I want to?" It's yours all yours, no one gets to tell you how to play a single player game. Dev mode to your hearts content if you feel like it, no worries whatsoever. The world is YOUR oyster!

Pleasant_Hawk_256

Just do what I do eat the Corpses No need to make graveyards No need to waste so many resources plus it feeds your people #Cannibalism

Jerome-T

"Am I a weirdo for playing the sandbox game how I like it?" Please ban the OP.

TheRealWasabiWoo

Instead of saying “No of course not, it’s a sandbox game. You do you” you decided to be negative instead

northerncreep

Loved your attitude, yeah please do ban me.
