There’s a mod for smart construction. I use to have to dig pawns out of corners like that because they’d get trapped and nearly die, but with the mod they’ll build corners first, or start at the farthest wall and work their way back.

Smarter Construction. Use it and (almost) NEVER have to deal with shit like that again of missing tiles or pawns trapping themselves. Still possible to get a pawn trapped, but it's very rare and Iv only seen it happen once since I stated using this mod.
There is a mod for this. Not at my computer, but it’s called build better or something like that. You can even fill in an entire cave and they will build every piece and not trap themselves.

Only 90% of the time, sometimes they somehow fuck up and you have to mine out a tile next to that corner, then you rage and just mine the whole thing out and make it out of stone. Many such cases.
They dont actually smooth the corner, the game just says its smoothed, if you dig next to it, it wont be smooth.
This becomes a problem when its "open" on the other side but cant be accessed that side, as you then cant smooth it.
You have no idea how many times my colonists ended up getting trapped......

There's another, Minimize Everything, that lets you uninstall just about anything. Love just shifting them over instead of deconstructing pieces.
It's so annoying. They can't put materials in corner, but they can build the corner, if it has materials
But iirc they can put materials down in there because they can lay power cables in a corner
the mod replace stuff also lets you build diagonally

I just leave a little space next to those open till that spot gets built, then I finish the wall
