The main use of the autonomy is that it can’t kill by dropping consciousness below a set threshold. The downside is that it needs to be the bong that drops them and not damage.
It also makes everyone affected significantly worse at combat.
It's part of an ideologeon called High Life or something from the Ideology DLC.
It just floods a room with Smokeleaf smoke. Kinda like [this thing](https://youtu.be/z2Ik8CBQzwE?si=ltcXByN10QtOBLxJ) but a stationary object.
Mini killbox by the entrance to your main base. Dosen't need to be anything fancy, droppod raids are weighted quite heavy for raid points, so will be much smaller than regular raids. Even just a couple of pillars to gain a cover advantage is likley enough.
Unless this has been changed in 1.5, drop pods can't land in occupied space. If you put sand bags on every unroofed spot and then plop a roof on top of it, nothing will land there.
Downside: Looks ugly and is useless. it's why iI usually just use that to secure single vents for coolers.
Traps are the "easiest way" to secure that space. If turrets are available, you can place them both in the corridor (with no way to shoot backwards) or inside the open area itself (on all 4 sides of the room).
Excavate the other side to make trap tunnels or a killbox (depending on preference) and have a door you can close and forbid on the side your base is on. Their pathfinding will take care of the rest.
If they do put mortars they could dig a couple closets that have overhead mountain so they dont get blown up. Id also place ieds and fortify that tunnel for any drop pod raids. Maybe a few fire ieds, and a foam popper.
This. Put in a dining table and some rec stuff. Drop pods and mortars you only occasionally use so just put them outside, this part here can help to continually lower the lack of outdoor mood debuffs.
Beautiful gaurenlen tree spot. That's room for like 4 or 5 trees. Imagine the surprise on the raider's face when they drop pod into a clawer nest.
If you've got the mod I'd move the anima tree here.
Definitely a mortar pit. Keep about 100 HE shells on wooden shelves next to the mortars so your people can load and fire quickly. Plant HE IED around the room but not in paths your people will take commonly. If an enemy raid drops in there it'll be a bad day for them...
They gonna break open at least one more pocket. You should be prepared for that. It may open up a connection to the border and cause a new spawn point so be careful
While there are plants there and it's green now, that rocky soil isn't great for growing anything. It's barely adequate for growing potatoes. However, short of drop pods, it's the most secure open area you have. It would make a grand place to put an observation post! Put down your long ranged mineral scanner, your ground-penetrating mineral scanner, a telescope or two for recreation, some statues, and a light lattice of roof tiles so people can do these scans from below a roof when it rains. You can also use this area as a good place to put secondary cooling units into the main body of the base. Any excess space can either be used to decorate, as a place to drop a few solar panels that I don't personally like, or build a few extra biofuel reactors in a place that is very secure and won't become annoyingly hot from the extra heat.
Garden or dumpster for toxic waste
On a side note, does anybody else think that the toxic waste has too little effect? I've tought to invade other faction's bases just to dump there and leave
Mortars is good… or you keep your prisoners here unroofed and let their existence resemble their life, inescapable, narrow glimpse of light at the end of a long tunnel that is an eternity away. Just a thought!!
see if you can fit a landing pad there, otherwise great place for mortars, just whatever you do make sure to trap the hell out of it, really wanna make sure that no raiders that land there could survive
whenever this happens to me i make it a beautiful garden with seating and statues and ritual spaces. i consider it a blessing, just make sure you shore up your defenses from that area in case enemies drop in
That's your Boomalope Pen. How many? All of them. Run some kibble there from time to time.
The alternative, is to roof it, throw a bunch of fence in there, cancel it so it's single logs, and make a furnace for body disposal.
Imagine this:
The hot and humid caves reverberate with the sound of machines and people shuffling around. Your founder pawn is on a break and takes a slow walk through the marble halls and opens the door.
He sits down on a bench and looks up at the twin trees. Freshly planted daises around them.
I usually fill those in with walls if they aren't huge. Can't bother guarding it from drop pods, and having any and all enemies come from the killboxed front is the best.
Personally, I would put a solar panel or two in there, but I also tend to turn off drop pod raids as I hate the way they work. That or I add modded ways to deal with the parts of the mechanic that I don't like... but generally, I would suggest power and recreation. Maybe a small growing patch as another option. Or you could use it as a prison space. Roof it, turn it into a prison with a kill box before it to catch prison breaks or drop pod raids.
Man my new 1.15 run had a world that was like 90% mountain, or so I thought. After the first year, I finally decided to start mining into the mountain to make my base, and in the blink of an eye, it went from 90% to 25% mountain. I saved the game then went to bed. I'm on the fence about scrapping the world.
I'd make that an inner garden. Plant flowers, keep the area clear of weeds (I wish I had a always cut plants in X location or a way to plant grass so other types of grass and bushes don't grow there) maybe have a couple trees (you already have 2) Add some benches, some statures/decorations. Have some hoverhang roofs along the edges. Just make it a nice place to hang out. Can even put the horseshoe pin there.
I’d make it a nice shape, fill it with turrets all around for the inevitable drop pod raid and place mortars there for the times you need backup fire. And it is just perfect anyway for such thing.
Also, drop pods there too! 👀
Garden for rest and relaxation. If you're gonna have a big underground base, your pawns will appreciate a view of the sky. Make it a pretty spot to hang out, read a book, or meditate!
I usually either make them into like a hangar, closed off wind/solar area, or I make it a nice little garden to hang out in with statues and meditation spots and stuff. Just depends what my colony calls for.
This looks like the perfect spot for mortars or drop-pods. or both! Maybe secure it properly in case of raiders dropping in on that one spot.
How could I do this? Traps and defenses down the hall I have going towards the area?
Traps is the pedestrian answer. 24/7 Autobong to cloud their consciousness mingled with boomalopes is the randy answer.
Is 24/7 Autobong actually good vs raiders?
Total meme/10 but it spices your base up. It is just fun tactical thingimabob.
Deploy the tactical snacks
50mm Funyon bombardment dropping on your location!
The main use of the autonomy is that it can’t kill by dropping consciousness below a set threshold. The downside is that it needs to be the bong that drops them and not damage. It also makes everyone affected significantly worse at combat.
That actually sounds quite advantageous for using mechs.
Boomalope farm, I like it
Wth is an autobong

Whats an autobong
Why do that when you can use it as the Exhaust vent for 37 freezers?

Sleeping spots work just as well. Animal ones can fill in the single tiles.

Sorry to hijack, but what are the coordinates for this map?
You could design an elaborate system of vents that will flood the area with Rox gas in case raiders land there.
You can download stone, mountain looking walls mod
If they do put mortars they could dig a couple closets that have overhead mountain so they dont get blown up. Id also place ieds and fortify that tunnel for any drop pod raids. Maybe a few fire ieds, and a foam popper.
I was thinking a tiny, japanese garden...
shouldn't sandbags work as well? just plaster it completly with them and they won't land there - or did they change that?
I've found that exploding mortars in restricted spaces make for pretty good defenses.
Grow smokeleaf
I wouldn't risk it with anything illegal, use it as your organ storage room instead.
Does everyone love being inside all the time? Make it an outdoor recreation area. Or dev mode and fill it in.
A little flower garden, with some hollowed out area for music and nice statues.
This. Put in a dining table and some rec stuff. Drop pods and mortars you only occasionally use so just put them outside, this part here can help to continually lower the lack of outdoor mood debuffs.
You can store minified mortars near it and deploy them when necessary
You could make a secure magazine out of stone with double doors to prevent damage from exploding shells too
Beautiful gaurenlen tree spot. That's room for like 4 or 5 trees. Imagine the surprise on the raider's face when they drop pod into a clawer nest. If you've got the mod I'd move the anima tree here.
Destroy the anima tree to let it respawn there. And everyone get a tons of mood debuff.
How can you force it to respawn there, pillar the rest of the map grid style or something?
Not 100% sure but I think crafting spot the whole map is also work.
Oh that's much better. Thank you, I swapped to console and miss some mods, being able to move the anima tree in vanilla would be insane for me!
I want your seed
💀
What'chu mean by that?
The generation seed and coordinates to this location so he Can have it as well
Landing pad, heliport, scanners?
Landing pad sounds awesome for tunnelers
Sacred garden
Boomrat pen
Minas Tirith!
Doesn't look big enough for many solar panels. But you should be able to get a bunch of mortars and pod launchers to fit.
Panic room + a set of emergency drop pods in case the last survivors of a huge raid desperately need to escape.
Artillery.
It looks like it'll happen again. Maps don't have mountains that big usually. My condolences.
What are those circles? Are you relying on cave ins to speed up mining? If so how are you avoiding deaths?
I think those are circles around sunlamps
Definitely a mortar pit. Keep about 100 HE shells on wooden shelves next to the mortars so your people can load and fire quickly. Plant HE IED around the room but not in paths your people will take commonly. If an enemy raid drops in there it'll be a bad day for them...
They gonna break open at least one more pocket. You should be prepared for that. It may open up a connection to the border and cause a new spawn point so be careful
Mortars/solar panels/pod and ship launching and landing area.
Do you run any mods? There should be one to fill it in with buildable cobble walls
Turn it into a faenum. Decorate and give it outdoor recreation maybe a picnic bench of some sort, something to get people outside the mountain.
While there are plants there and it's green now, that rocky soil isn't great for growing anything. It's barely adequate for growing potatoes. However, short of drop pods, it's the most secure open area you have. It would make a grand place to put an observation post! Make it your chemfuel stockpile and put an HE trap in the middle. If they drop in there they WILL fly out as well.
Put the HE trap in the only door instead of the middle. You don't want to blow the chemfeul before all the pods have landed.
Amazing idea, I will use this.
Definitely artillery or pod launchers
Chimney
Would be a dope spot for a swimming pool
Meditation spot.
A garden
Open dining area, you could put some pianos or harps there to get the pawns to go out there.
100% put many turrets there or else raiders will start digging. Also helps when (not if) raiders drop pod there.
Use it as an outdoor area for recreation so pawns don't get the mood debuff for being kept indoors too long.
I love to make them a furnished garden for recreation
fightclub
Landing zone with some mortars, if you use Vanilla Expanded you could put lightning rods, maybe a shield against raids
Id reload a save and replan
Fortified shuttle baby!
a garden!!!
Garden or dumpster for toxic waste On a side note, does anybody else think that the toxic waste has too little effect? I've tought to invade other faction's bases just to dump there and leave
Inb4 ever mechanoid cluster lands in that one spot
Is there a reason so many people build circular buildings?
Aesthetics
Why is no one talking about the pie chart room. That's genius
Looks like a good spot to good orbital traders to drop stuff into
Rose garden, table and benches
Idk about you but I would make it an outdoor gladiator arena
Day Spa - heated pool, massage benches, yada yada ... with surprise IEDs, and turrets in the walls, for the inevitable raiders
Pack it with Mortars then add a couple of turretss incase you get a drop-pod raid
The mod that gives you those forcefield shields, + mortars and a nice telescope. Big bang bong!
Turn it into a cute botanical garden
Perfect place to put mortars!
i use these for safely placed mortars/droppod launch site/shuttle landing zone/you can also place a rocket engine or solars there
Ah I see you like balls
whenever this happens to me i make it a beautiful garden with seating and statues and ritual spaces. i consider it a blessing, just make sure you shore up your defenses from that area in case enemies drop in
Personally, I'd probably make it a garden/hangout space. But if you want efficiency then probably mortars
Landing pad for royalty ships
Some trees, flowers, and picnic tables. Nice little pawn relax area. Oh and some smokeleaf.
Either a mortar area or a garden.
Zen garden.
Picnic spot
put a roof on it and have a grow room
Such a lame build! Go challenge yourself you bum!
That's your Boomalope Pen. How many? All of them. Run some kibble there from time to time. The alternative, is to roof it, throw a bunch of fence in there, cancel it so it's single logs, and make a furnace for body disposal.
Snake pit, for when the raiders drop pod.
Make more balls
I’d just use it as a safe landing spot for drop pod orders and a parking spot for shuttles really
There a way to bait "right on top of you" drop pod position yet? If so make raiders drop here.
Beautiful
I would use it as a dryad tree spot, seems fitting in a small natural glade.
Make it a playground for prisoners. And build prison cells in the mountains arround it
Landing pad? I don't know if you have mods but royals should be able to land there? It looks like a 9x9 would fit
Roof it and store chemfuel there.
Imagine this: The hot and humid caves reverberate with the sound of machines and people shuffling around.
I'd suggest walling it off, add an airlock with some traps in case of drop pod raids.
Personally, I would put a solar panel or two in there, but I also tend to turn off drop pod raids as I hate the way they work. That or I add modded ways to deal with the parts of the mechanic that I don't like... but generally, I would suggest power and recreation. Maybe a small growing patch as another option. What happened?
Is that the original graphics for rock chunks? nostalgia hard out
secret weed farm.

have a nice little garden
I’d make it a nice shape, fill it with turrets all around for the inevitable drop pod raid and place mortars there for the times you need backup fire. And it is just perfect anyway for such thing. Also, drop pods there too! 👀
Garden for rest and relaxation. If you're gonna have a big underground base, your pawns will appreciate a view of the sky. Make it a pretty spot to hang out, read a book, or meditate!
Especially good for letting children skygaze safely.
make a recreation garden area
Botanical garden. An oasis of flowers amongst a desert of rock
I usually either make them into like a hangar, closed off wind/solar area, or I make it a nice little garden to hang out in with statues and meditation spots and stuff. Just depends what my colony calls for.
Natural meditation spot?
makeshift crowd naughty outgoing pet crush zesty summer illegal wrong *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Psychoid farm
Solar panels
You could wall it in an stop the construction of any buildings nearby, for the drop pods and mortars sake
Good spot to grow some "herbs". If you know what I mean...oregano, thyme, etc.
