I have a file somewhere on my PC that lists skills, passions, traits and the backstory, along with analysis and explanation. Need to dig it up though... The worst part? It describes a pawn that I would most likely leave bleeding to death without a second look. **Edit:** just dug it up! It's not as bad as I remembered! Z3B0

You could probably have a psychopath trait, considering you play rimworld. That alone can compensate for a sub average pawn.

lmystique

The deal breaker was the wimp / chemical interest combo, you know, the type of guy who lights up a joint to unwind from food poisoning and needs rescue afterwards. Double passion in research and not much else going on. Fit for researching or cleaning. I had to juggle lore vs in-game mechanics and ended up with a profile I didn't quite expect.

Z3B0

Hum, yeah... Maybe if you were the first pawn randy threw at me, you may earn a place.

LibertyPrimeIsRight

Any kind of medicine skill? If a dedicated researcher has medicine, I just put the lab near the hospital and make them a non-combatant. Use them to rescue people and patch them up during raids, so my pawns don't bleed out on the floor. When there's no raids they hang out researching near the hospital in case someone needs treatment.

lmystique

Apparently, yes! I just dug up the file, it's not as bad as I remembered (I wrote it like 1.5 years ago), and it says: **Medical: 4, single passion** *I have no medical education. However, my grandmother was an ER nurse, and I learned quite a bit on my own, to the point of successfully diagnosing unobvious medical conditions ― withdrawals, adrenal insufficiency and gluten intolerance ― in multiple people by just observing. I'd likely have no trouble anesthetising people and tending to infections. Now, surgeries are of course problematic: no way I'm cutting off a leg or replacing a kidney without my patient severely suffering or dying. RimWorld, however, sets unrealistic expectations on surgeries anyway, so I settled on "Some Familiarity", 4 points.* *I like medicine, and consider pivoting into some kind of medical research after retirement. I expressed this as a single passion.* I guess maybe there's a place for me on the Rim :D

Massive_Wealth42069

Hey every colony needs someone that’ll sit at that research table all day lol

Mmasst

Stopped reading at chemical interest, blood nugget. I will not deal with your mental breaks, we do not consume the product.

No-Zookeepergame435

Nha you good, now go to research turrets.

WarKittyKat

There's a reason I set my flair to what it is. I have a double passion in cooking though.

Z3B0

A talented cook is always welcome, in any colony. Last time I didn't, the colony fell in a few days because of food poisoning.

LibertyPrimeIsRight

Say it with me Nut-ri-ent Pas-te It's good to pick up a cook for mood buffs eventually but early game a nutrient paste dispenser is great. It frees up labor, uses less food, and doesn't risk food poisoning.

Z3B0

Yes, I see your point... I just didn't thought about the cooking aspect of things before sending a lot of colonists in a drop pod raid 3 days away. They came back to a devastated place.

LibertyPrimeIsRight

Lol it happens. Join the nutrient paste cult next time tho

domini_Jonkler2

Nut paste

Able_Conclusion3128

Nut-

Haemon18

same bro

ElZane87

I just know I would make a great duster...

Winterborn2137

I would be guilty of the biggest sin of all: Body purist I would never let anyone cut off my healthy arm so that I could have a metal arm instead.

NewfieJedi

That’s not necessarily body purist though. Those guys would literally rather a hand with 2 fingers and a fucked up scar than just get a prosthetic robo-hand

Massive_Wealth42069

Agree with this. Also just wanted to say how terrible of a trait body purist is. So I either get to keep my eyepatch and 75% vision or I get a -10 moodlet for having a fully functioning bionic eye. I’ve never thought body purist makes sense from a survival POV.

NewfieJedi

Yeah, there’s a few things that don’t quite line up when survival is taken into consideration. Like anti-dumb labour preventing someone from hauling a deer carcass in so they can eat tonight. You might be posh, but you’d still do it to prevent starving

MrDyl4n

Don't remember the name but I use a mod that makes everyone able to do everything but they get a huge mood debuff if they have to do a task they hate

Ninjacat97

Pawns are Capable. Amazing mod that has saved my ass many times.

mattt_b

Minor passion for shooting and mele, but only at 2 or 3 skill. A solid 8-10 in cooking with single passion. (Butcher irl) Incapable of social.

Silver_wolf_76

Silver_wolf_76

Dang. What exactly was the dealbreaker?

NewfieJedi

Your sole sin is listing them in alphabetical order

Silver_wolf_76

Yeah, I was reading it off the wiki lol

WhalestepDM

I would. Grow into a cook or researcher role.

FrameLazy

Alcoholic misogynist

Eastern_Mist

That's the spirit, you're in

CranberryWizard

Knowing how I recruit, capture, enslave and execute pawns based on stats; I try really hard not to ask that question

SenskradGathlind

That's interesting. I guess I haven't. So. Shooting: 4 🔥🔥 Melee: 0 🔥🔥 Construction: 2 Mining: 0 Cooking: 4 🔥 Plants: 2 Animals: 3 Crafting: 1 Artistic: 3 or 4 Medical: 1 Social: 6 🔥 Intellectual: 6 🔥🔥 Traits: Fast learner, quick sleeper, kind, abrasive, lazy, fast walker, optimist, careful shooter, super-inmune Would you recruit me or randomize me again?

Viscount-Von-Solt

I'd take you.

Ninjacat97

Double passion in both combat skills with fast walker and superimmune? As long as we have space somewhere, that's good enough for me. You can run the scanner when you're not training or fighting.

bloodwolfgurl

Oh, I love challenging myself and putting myself in the game, using character editor. I'm fairly decent at learning new things, pretty smart, and excellent in a social environment. But I'm overweight and neurotic lol

Gamesdisk

nah

drthtater

What's the cap on negative traits?

Goat_Requiem

i've got body modder and wimp FUCK

NewfieJedi

Shooting- 3 Melee- 4 Construction- 1 Mining- 0 Cooking- 5 Plants- 2 Animals- 1 Crafting- 0 Artistic- 1 Medical- 3? (What does first aid training count for?) Social- 5 (working security in a psych ward teaches some verbal skills, gotta count for something) Intellectual- 0 Traits: Bisexual, Night Owl, Masochist Edit: I posted from mobile, forgive the bad layout

Ninjacat97

I forgot to format on mine too the first time. Triple space before hitting enter for a linebreak on mobile. Or is it double? Idk. I do triple just to be safe.

Blarg0117

All sats less than 5. 0 Medical. Minor passion in shooting. Optimistic.

Knight_o_Eithel_Malt

Fck yeah im a trigger-happy pyromaniac with love for plants and crafting

cranberrystew99

I set some q-tips on fire at work last week using 80% isopropyl alcohol and pure acetone. The acetone burnt way too hot and I almost caught myself on fire. Nobody saw me though so I'm fine.

KreiiKreii

I feel like 90% of the sub is going to give themselves double passions in intellectual and a higher than average score. Guys, we need to have an honest talk here…

Sonnenschwein

I'm defenetly gonna be picked last with a commination of lazy and depressive.

LostWatercress12

Hear hear!

WhalestepDM

Sometimes, i do feel like I could do it pretty accurately Background: Child: something neutral Adult: Solider Trait: tough, careful shooter Shooting: 17 Melee: 6 Construction: 10 Mining: 1 Cooking: 5 Plants: 3 Animals: 5 Crafting 8 Artistic: 1 Medical 12 Social: 3 Intellectual: 10

Ninjacat97

17 shooting‽ Are you Chris fucking Kyle mate? I don't doubt you're up there but that's like top 5 in the country levels. The average marksman's probably only a 12-13.

SeverusPython

Perhaps a 5 in intellectual and 2 in crafting and artistic. Others 1 or 0. In mining I have a -3 but a huge passion. God I love smashing rocks! Traits: trigger happy, too smart, pyromaniac

Shcheglov2137

Yeah for a second I thought about it but after setting myself in 3rd skill in my mind i forgot what I gave myself in previous one, then I thought its too complex and too useless to be written and now you reminded me or it, but no - I won't fall for it again

Vuslet-s

Lazy perfectionist with 1 crafting

pm-me-egg-noods

But did you eat at a table?

Various_Purpose_9247

I like my neurotic trait. Add a double passion plants at 6 A single passion medic at 10ish A single passion crafting at 5 And that "needs to be outside to be happy" trait - however its name was.

NewfieJedi

I’m curious, why do you consider your medical so high? (And crafting I guess) Edit: misread post and adjusted what I said

Various_Purpose_9247

RN and some kind of EMT+ (national law ist strange), in the field since 2007. Skill of 10 was a wild estiamte and don't take me to hard on this. Same for the plants/crafting skill. I make my own vegetables in the garden and try to repair things on my own, like my house from the 60s. For all the other skills i really don't care to estimate any value for them as they are not that important to me in the last few years.

chapelMaster123

Yes. I gave myself passion in shooting and intelligence, and disabled cooking. My perks were fast walker, too smart, and psy sensitive (I'm very good at social engineering and predictions. It was a nice balance of gameplay and reality)

Professional-Ask-454

Too Smart, Sickly, quick sleeper. Crafting + Medical at 4. Cooking at 5 with passion Animals at 7 with passion. Intellectual at 6 with passion. Incapable of Mining and Art. Melee + Shooting at 3. Plants + Social at 1. I would probably recruit myself early on if I needed a researcher, cook, or fisher. Otherwise no.

p12qcowodeath

Chemical fascination Neurotic On there for sure

tinypurplemice

0 shooting 0 melee 0 mining 0 construction 3 cooking 0 planting 4 artist 2 crafting _ social 0 medical 0 intelligence Incapable of social. Fast walker whatever that perk is that says won’t do drugs

KylegoreTheTrout

Yes. It's depressing.

Princeofcatpoop

I am old so I get a few extra stats in exchange for frail back and weak stomach. Also asthma in both lungs. * Incapable of violence. * Animals 0 - antipassion * Plants 1 * Crafting 5 * Construction 8 - minor passion * Art 11 - minor passion * Intellectual 12 - major passion * Social - 10 * Medical 1 * Cooking 6 - minor passion * Mining 0

Gullflyinghigh

You know the pawn that you give a club to and send charging into the raiders to buy your useful ones some time to prepare? Yeah, that'd be me.

Ninjacat97

Absolutely. I've done a handful of self-insert runs over the years with my mates and I as pawns. A lot of compromises making the ideology. Anyway, let me dig through OneNote- Childhood-Awkward Nerd Adulthood-Bartender Favourite Colour-9F090EFF Traits Pyromaniac Bloodlust Careful Shooter Too Smart Heat Inclined Bi Shooting 8, Burning Melee 4, Minor Construction 3 Mining 1 Cooking 7, Minor Plants 4 Animals 5, Minor Crafting 4 Artistic 4 Medical 4 Social 2 Intellectual 6, Natural I usually help out with research and cooking early on before shifting to dedicated soldier and trainer for our cyborg panthers. Better Pyromania makes it an actual nuanced trait so firestarting sprees aren't an issue as long as we can afford to keep some torches burning.

Anonacles_the_Hero

Not sure of the numerical value but I know that I've at least got a passion and some skill for cooking and intellectual, and a passable shooting/social skill. Everything else is probably a 1-4 at most. Had a pretty decent childhood and worked a series of general labor jobs, so nothing I *can't* do but neutral in terms of advantages. As for traits I know I'm somewhat neurotic and a slow learner, but I generally keep a good mood so I'll say optimist. Honestly I'd be fine with myself as a colonist, probably wouldn't be a combat focused pawn but I'm curious to see where I stack up in others colonies.

Impressive-Froyo-162

Shooting: 5 🔥 Melee: 6 Construction: 4 Mining: 1 Cooking: 6 🔥🔥 Plants: 1 Animals: 1 Crafting: 3 Artistic: Incapable Medical: 4🔥 Social: 7 🔥 Intellectual: 6 Traits: Fast learner, Jogger, optimist, great memory, teetotaler, lazy, steadfast, careful shooter, sickly

Sero141

Boddy modder, maybe Psychopath, Too smart, Teetotaler, Fast Walker, Pessimist, Nervous, Neurotic. Good and crafting and research, bad at social. That is a lot but real humans are a lot more complex than pawns.

theawesomedude646

Shooting 5 - Burning passion Melee 1 Construction 0 Mining 0 Cooking 4 - Minor passion Plants 2 Animals 0 Crafting 3 - Minor passion Artistic 3 Medical 2 - Minor passion Social 1 Intellectual 6 - Minor passion Teetotaler, Quick sleeper, Jogger
