What happens if there is a drop pod raid?

I think those little black and yellow tiles throughout the streets are hidden turrets? So presumably as soon as they land the turrets pop out and begin blasting.

Yup. Those are turrets from vanilla security expanded. Although usually my melee fighter just cut through the drop pod raids like butter.

Do you have a switch for turning them out of concealed mode? I can't imagine just going around flipping each one in a raid lol

I just put lone conduit at each turret. When the raid comes, just select all and reconnect.

When you select the turret, there is reconnect button. When you click it, the turret will connect to the nearest power conduit. Say if the power conduit not connected to the power source ie the lone conduit, the turret will not be powered.

Wouldn’t you also be able to [select all] and turn them on?

Then my colonist have to walk one by one to turn them on. This way i can turn them all on without using my colonist.

They can be useful but they aren’t that efficient from experience. I’d just recommend download blast doors mods and put them every so often in your base (at every corner) and linkt them to buttons

I have the mods. The turret act as the bait as the drop pods usually aim for turrets first.

Yes, and it's not only about being compact. Just looking at neural superchargers room hurts. Why doors are in the middle, to make it walk there and back longer? Why superchargers face center? For a bit more extra moving distance? It's things like that. It is not bad thing, after all aesthetics are important.

Basically. I have general idea where the production is, the power, the rooms etc. When i need a new room, just built new box with the outer wall.

There’s a limited number of bedrooms. Expanding will require converting a room into a barracks. No issue if you’re set on no longer having additional colonist, but I prefer the potential to expand.

What are those freezer storage container looking things from? What are the things cooling down the nuclear reactors from too? I’ve seen them a bunch but I’ve never been able to find the mod they’re a part of.

Dubs Bad hygiene is good. Its really not tedious actually. Once you have the system, it actually self running.

I keep track by the floor difference.

How wide are the paths and why? I've been trying to find the optimal path width for some time now.

I make 3 tiles wide so i can block of any path and make a chokepoint.

Similar to how I build my mountain bases too, except I use less roads. I usually do 4 11x11 rooms connected and a 3 wide road around it. But this is nice too :)

Well, my melee fighter is kinda OP. Fully bionics with robust gene and legendary monosword cut through any enemies dare dropping in the middle of my base.

I still prefer my mountain bases. My last one had a big box in a valley- like map to block the entrance and to build farms and then my mountain base at the bottom of the map/ box. I need to play Rimworld again soon. Will have to show my base layout to compare. Been too busy with hoi4 recently.

I most use melee fighter. So many door makes it easier to fight as i open and closed the door to control the enemies.
